What a Gaming laptop! I’m normally a console player. I’m a truck driver and wanted a gaming laptop for the road. I had always heard how much better PCs are than consoles but the consoles are so good that the difference couldn’t be that big right? When I first loaded into my games my mind was absolutely blown!!! The 5080 to me looks like a PS7. Such a huge difference in just all the details that this laptop completely changed how I feel about PC gaming. The screen is great! Perfect for a truck driver who has a lot of light coming in the truck during the days. Really big track pad that feels good! It has all the ports including two thunderbolt 5! I highly recommend this laptop if you’re looking for a gaming laptop and want something big and on the higher end! I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

I love this laptop. No complaints. I know people will complain about the weight or how hot the computer gets. Its a laptop with an intel and monster hardware of course it’s going to get hot depending on various factors. For small activities such as, surfing the internet or doing homework it doesn’t get hot for me. I use this more for gaming, I do have it on a cooling pad and it doesn’t get hot unless I play a quality hungry game at max settings like Cyberpunk. I did get this laptop on sale thats why I ending up grabbing it at my local BB for a steal of a deal. If you do buy this laptop (or any ASUS gaming laptop) I recommend you to delete Asus armoury crate and it’s sister applications to download G helper instead. The best program to have on these gaming asus laptops. If you can find this product for a deal or if you have the money to spend I say get this laptop for sure.

Best Buy In-Store Pickup was insanely fast, grabbed my ROG Strix G18 (RTX 5080) in literally 2 minutes!
Placed the order online last night and chose In-Store Pickup the second I saw stock pop up. Got the “Your order is ready” text first thing in the morning and rushed over.
Walked in, told the guy at the counter I was there to pick up, showed him the QR code on my phone, and boom, less than 2 minutes later I was walking out with the huge ROG box in my arms. He just grabbed it from the back, double-checked the serial, scanned, paid, done. Faster than grabbing a coffee.
Got home, fired up the Strix G18 with the 5080 and that massive 18-inch screen, absolutely insane for gaming. Black Myth: Wukong looks unreal on it.
Best Buy nailed the pickup experience. Five stars, highly recommend doing it this way if you see stock!

This laptop would have a perfect 5/5 star review if the ports didnt feel loose. Other than that this laptop is the perfect desktop replacement paired with a external monitor if you want home performance as well as mobility. Its able to play 4k games with an external monitor at 100 fps and 2k games at 160+ fps. I recommend buying an external laptop cooler if you want longevity for your gaming investment. The ASUS software to control the RGB and settings is very premium and highly customizable. You'll get lost just playing with the settings and staring at the lights lol. No... seriously the RGB is like a light show at a rave.

First time gamer, haven’t played games in about 6-8 years. got this laptop so I can occupy some time when on the road traveling for work. I love it so far the quality is amazing graphics are really good. The only down fall that I seen and again I’m new here so I don’t know if this is normal, but the battery only lasted about an hour and a half while unplugged and watching Netflix. Not a big deal for me cause I’m going to have it plugged in at a desk anytime I use it. Other than that I love it so far!

I just replaced my Alienware with this Beast and do NOT regret it! I have been playing Baldur's Gate on it and it is just stunning. I like the fact that it weighs less than my other laptop, but it is just as powerful if not more. Very impressed with ASUS...great purchase.

This thing is crazy fast! Games run super smooth at 240Hz and the big 18" screen looks amazing. Tons of storage, plenty of RAM, and the RTX 5080 handles everything I throw at it. Stays cool for a gaming laptop and feels solid. Definitely worth it if you want top performance.

I got this as a desktop replacement, and it has more than handled everything i have thrown at it. Build quality is excellent. Didnt really have much bloat on it, just Amory Crate and thats not to bad to use, could be better I guess. I would have gotten the Stix Scar with a 5080 for the mini-led panel that I wish this had. As I could care less about all the extra RGB that isnt just keyboard. Overall i am very happy with this thing. It is indeed a beast and worth the extra $400 over the 4080 version for future proofing alone.

I got this about 2 weeks ago and so far I have no issues or complaints. The cpu is extremely fast and my the gpu is a monster and my temps have stayed nice and cool. Only things I say could be better is 64GB of ram rather than 32. I could probably add another ram stick or two, but I’m not sure if it’s easily upgradable. The other thing I think could be better is if it had 4TB rather than 2TB but that’s not really an issue because I can easily add another 2TB or even more if needed.

Was looking for a replacement for my ASUS ROG Flow Z13. Years go by and I'm not young anymore. I chose to have a big screen and not to bother with settings in games (I checked “ultra” and played). So far so good, I really liked the fact that I can quickly clean it or add SSD: without twisting the nuts on the cover, the back cover comes off quickly with a click.

For an open box item, it seems like new. It still had the original packaging. The computer is good quality. I think for the price of the open box deal it was worth it. The only thing that I find lacking on this laptop is the the sound and the screen is not that premium but can be adjusted to look good. The screen has a bit of a yellowish tint that can be adjusted out and the blacks could be better. The sound is a quite thin but is loud enough. Other than those two things, it's great gaming laptop. I've gotten open box items from Best Buy before and they did an excellent job at handling and rating this one. Sometimes excellent isn't really excellent in my opinion but they seem to be improving in that regard.

The programs I use run so much better with this laptop. I us a lot of programs for work that it was dragging down the speed of uploads and downloads. The ASUS ROG Strix makes it so much quicker that I can complete work at a faster rate than on a normal laptop. Only issue was finding a laptop bag that fit it.

After puttong in lots of research into gaming laptops, it really comes down between the ASUS and Lenovo lines with both the Strix G18 and the Lenovo 7i being on a similar playong field.
ASUS is typically a little more adorned for it's performance, while Lenovo has OLED and better build quality.
Lenovo customer support is the absolute worse, though I do not know much about ASUS.
Price at the time of this review is the same for both models durong Cyber-Monday sales.

Wow. Just, wow. The ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 delivers an unparalleled laptop experience. The 18-inch display is absolutely stunning – vibrant colors, smooth refresh rates, and an incredible amount of screen real estate. Beyond the visuals, the raw power under the hood handles everything I throw at it with ease. It's an investment, but one that truly pays off in performance and immersion.
