The most powerful 17” you can currently get, but still reasonably light. The 7945HX3D matches perfectly to a high wattage 4090 mobile and is perfect for keeping frame rates north of 100 at 1440P. Even Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty, fully maxed out with Psycho RT, manages 80fps on the in game benchmark with frame gen on and DLSS set to quality. Storage is expandable via a second M2 slot, but there is no card reader. Other downsides are that the webcam is mediocre at best with no Windows Hello support, nor is there a fingerprint reader. The lighting is very nice however, and sure to please RGB fans, with per key lighting on the keyboard, as well as side and rear cover elements. The keyboard itself isn’t mechanical, but has good feel and travel as well as no perceivable delay. Battery life is of course miserable, but as mentioned the 6.6lb weight is decent for this class, as is the fairly slim profile. Overall a fantastic gaming laptop and about as good as it gets for folks who want a desktop replacement.

Does what its supposed to do, most of the time. Sometimes it restarts for no reason or Fortnite crashes.

Beast of a laptop. My son can play every modern game on it with high setting. The keyboard also has very cool back lighting that makes it that much more exciting for gamers. The laptop is best used plugged in given it has such a powerhouse GPU and uses up the battery in high performance mode quite quickly.

Very great laptop but a little pricey. I wish Best Buy could change their return & price match policy, as it is only 15 days and of course I noticed the price dropped $400 right after the window to do the price match. That is a let down, but I will suck it up and continue to make the most out of my new laptop.

Do not buy this piece of garbage. Worst computer I have ever owned. Crashes every 5 minutes, required several resets in the first 3 months of owning. Terrible and not worth the extraordinary headache.

This is the most powerful gaming laptop you can get right now. The 7945hx3d is better for games then every other AMD and Intel laptop chip on the market right now. The 4090 comes in at max TDP so its running full throttle. The only downside is the RAM is 4800mhz but can be swapped out with 5200mhz sodimms. At 1080p you’ll be clocking over 100fps for every game at ultra everything, ray/path tracing on, everything. At 1440p it’ll be 90-100fps. And at 4k on an external monitor you can get 60-70fps. This thing clocks a Timespy score only a few thousand off from a 4080/7800x3D desktop and is as close as you are going to get to a portable desktop in a laptop. It’s a beast.

After trying multiple laptops and returning them after being dissatisfied with them, I finally bought this one and I’m extremely happy with it. The few complaints I have I can live with the one thing that bothers me is that this laptop is made of a bunch of plastics I think for a laptop of this caliber and price a lot less plastic should be used. Then there’s the battery life which is short, but that’s expected in a laptop this powerful so if you purchase this expect to play with it plugged in most of the time. This has been able to handle every game I throw at it, and the ram and storage is upgradable if you need more.

For the price, the computer should be fast and reliable; it’s exactly that! I’ve had no problems with performance or overheating. The computer stays cool for the time I play it, and generally I would easily recommend this to a friend.

Bought this on sale after doing a lot of research. Impressive stats and performance. Unfortunately, from day one, the laptop restarted several times. After working with Asus support, we reset the laptop. When the restarts continued, support determined that the laptop was defected and it was returned. I now notice that this problem appears in many reviews, it’s apparent this laptop suffers from a defect affecting many units. Will not buy another Asus.

Amazing machine that can handle everything I throw at it. All games run at max settings. Just one thing the package came opened, but im sure this is not Bestbuy fault.

I just got this laptop and booted it up , did all the updates and I decided to boot up a game and was going great and the keyboard completely stopped working. Its not responsing whatsoever, no lights neither. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling keyboard through device manager and so far nothing. Such a disappointment with this product. No reason a new laptop thats been out for a year should be having these issues!

The notebook was fast but from day one, it had a bad habit of just losing power and going black in an instant. It did this 15 to 20 times at random intervals. Then just before it was 3 months old, it died completely. Won't post, won't boot. Having to return for manufacturer warranty. Quality doesn't seem to be very good.

Arrived with a broken keyboard. Bestbuy had a label on the box that the keyboard was broken. Sold it to me anyway.
