It came with a entire row of dead pixels. I had to go to the closest Best Buy for a new one and I had to wait one more week to delivered the new one. Besides the problem with the first one, I love it !!! Best screen ever and it’s super fast!! I can play my games in ultra graphics with no lag

first off I got this on a price match sale. was $300 off which made it a great deal for a new laptop. has everything you need for gaming. Has a small Intel 512gb M.2 SSD drive which is only downside. I only added a 2.5" Samsung evo 860 2TB SSD drive. Asus supplied the cable and screws to install extra drive. nice touch! Has 144HZ monitor and GSync . I have had it almost a week now and no complaints. runs fast and no crashes. only other thing I may add is 1 more 16gb stick of ram to boost it in future. they give you 1 stick and a free one open. bottom case comes off easy with about 10 screws. I highly recommend this laptop.

I was looking for a gaming laptop for a while and was limiting myself as to what I was looking for. This one was a little bit out of my price range but I checked it out and it had everything I wanted! I wanted something with a decent SSD with room to install my own SSHD I had purchased seperately and this was the one! It has an excellent graphics card, 1 step below what is basically top of the line! I absolutely love how it runs all my games, I haven't had a single issue with it! I was able to get it on sale which brought it right down to my price range!!! Great purchase overall! :)

So it's taking everything I throw at it and more and not even batting an eye. Games, programs, movies, etc. All run and look buttery smooth. The screen is amazing. Never thought too much on 144 refresh rate but it's super nice. Everything in this machine is awesome but I only have two faults. It can get pretty loud (to me) when a demanding game is playing. Pretty hot too. That and there is some screen bleeding. Hard to notice unless you really look for it. Seems to disappear for me every now and again. Other than those two (three-ish) complaints it's an amazing laptop and I'm so glad I got it.

Asus makes the best laptops, built to last! My old Asus gaming laptop finally died after 10 years and I finally upgraded to this one. This model is so cool and has all of the specs that will last me for another decade.

If you can get this or any version of this on sale, it is hard to beat. Piwerful than most gaming laptops for a fraction of the costs. Cant go wrong with Asus.

This is the most expensive laptop I have ever purchased, but I have not regretted it. I bought it initially because I wanted to play VR games on it, which it does with no issues. I also play other casual/single player games on it and have not found any game that gives me any trouble. It has one of the nicest feeling keyboards for a laptop for my preferences. The screen itself looks very smooth and color quality looks good. However, I do use other monitors at home mostly because of screen size. One thing I really appreciate is that if I'm using it as a normal computer, on battery, the battery saving performance really tunes down the performance and does not get warm. While plugged in and on full performance, the computer does run warm, but no hotter than I would expect.

Good value for a reasonable price. This is a 2070 "Max P" so not the sub 100w version which is much closer to a full desktop version. Hard to beat for the price

I purchased this laptop because it had everything I wanted for $1500. It was a 17" 1080p 144hz screen with 16gb ram, a RTX 2070 8gb video card, and i7 9th gen Intel processor. It claimed to have a unique cooling feature and it basically it was the best you could get for the money during Black Friday. Unfortunately, this laptop failed to perform to its expectations. First, let's talk about the video card. Across various games such as WoW, Conan, Overwatch, Apex Legends, Resident Evil 2, and few others, the RTX 2070 performed on-par with my wife's RTX 2060 in her lower-end Asus laptop. Simply put, unless you plan on doing a lot of 3D virtual gaming, don't waste your money on the 2070 for just 5-10 FPS more. Secondly, and this is on Asus or MSI, the video card and processor would overheat. Playing some games caused the CPU and GPU temps to reach over 100 degrees celsius! This was in a cold basement with fans on max on a flat table! Those temps damage components and reduce longevity. I suspect it was poor thermal pasting when it was manufactured and Geek Squad agreed. Apparently, according to Geek Squad, its a very common issue with Asus and MSI laptops. So when I brought it back to Best Buy, not only was it OOS everywhere, but there was a 4 week lead time to send it to Asus for them to fix! When I asked for a comparable laptop, they wanted to charge me $100 more for a laptop with the same specs! In the end, I returned it very disappointed in Asus and dissatisfied with Best Buy's handling of it. I give it 2 stars because the screen looked great and it played great when it wasn't overheating.

Poor thermals and acoustics. Sounds like a jet engine when fans spin under heavy CPU and or GPU load. CPU goes into thermal throttling at 95+C. To be able to use this laptop for gaming you have to use a good pair of headphones to overcome the loud fans. Laptop has good specs but poor cooling is a bad strike against it.

Ok so I have been beating the everloving crap out of this thing for about two years, nonstop, 24/7. I use it for gaming, and also for software engineering and machine learning. All of those things require a very high level of performance. I can do all three at the same time and it barely bats an eyelash at it. I run a virtual machine with linux alongside windows while I game to train AI in the background and it just absolutely destroys it all. Hardware integrity is still at close to 100% 2 years after purchase with basically no downtime ever. The last machine I did even half of this to basically melted after 9 months. The power brick is now just starting to go, but thats really kind of expected given how much I have abused it, and thats the only real issue now except the fans make a little more noise due to constant immense stress on them. You are not going to be disappointed with this thing, and if you are, then you would have to be the sort of person who is chronically dissatisfied with everything no matter how good it is. I put at leadt double the load on it that even hardcore gamers do with no breaks ever and it barely breaks a sweat. Buy this thing. Sell a kidney if you have to.

I ordered this laptop after returning a defective Razer blade that had thermal issues and defective screen with dead pixels. So, they offered me to get something else in exchange, I decided to go for the Asus laptop with the new RTX and give it a try. I ordered the laptop on the 5th and I was told that its going to be shipped on the 15th, it arrived on the 21st instead, anyway that is not the /major/ problem. The first time I booted the laptop, I noticed the worst back light bleeding on a screen, as it was coming from all the edges of the screen. It took over than 10 minutes to boot it up, and I installed the windows updates immediately and it took over than 50 minutes to update, thats because of the Intel SSD which is embedded into the laptop and I figured out that it's the worst in the market, like why should I pay 2000$ for a laptop that has a junk SSD that is not even worth 50$ on the market. And its said that the laptop comes with a full RTX 2070, when I checked the clock speed, it is not even near to that. It seems more like a Max Q version but advertised to be a Full GPU. The very next day, I called Asus customer service, when I was explaining the problem the representitive seemed to be struggling to speak English properly of even understand a word I say, he said that he can't help me with that and suddenly the line was cut off, I was not surprised. I called Bestbuy after then and hopefully they ordered a replacement, it arrived within four days, but when I opened the replacement laptop I found more back light bleeding, the performance was not even compareable to the first laptop, it was like 50% performance cut off, probably a defective GPU or CPU, and it gave a lot of blue screens. Eventually I decided to return them both. After all, my advice to you guys is to look for another brand as this laptop is not worth your money or your time.

The 2070 RTX is the main reason I bought this. Its perfect for 1080p at 144hz. Wish it was Ryzen cpu (no stars off for that)and better SSD (1 star off). The intel 660 ssd is junk for a $2000 laptop. The new SSD in on the way.
