This product is excellent. I have 10+ years of history of buying Asus motherboards for Intel processors, with 0 complaints. Installation was super easy(switched from 9900k). Bios is excellent, with a lot of options. In the end, this mobo follows the good tradition of excellent quality of -E boards.

Works well with the i9 12900K I paired it with as well as the 64 GB (2x 32GB) kit of G.Skill DDR5-5600 CL30 memory. Has all the features I need (4x PCI-E gen 4 NVME slots, USB 3.2 gen2x2)
Only thing I wish this had that it doesn't is a native Thunderbolt/USB 4 port.

Rufino was great at his job. His never give up attitude and expertise had you ready to trust him with your computer. My Z690 is great, with the RTX 3080, SSD drive, RGB Ram and RGB CPU cooler it becomes a thing of beauty. And the gaming is unbelievable.

So far, excellent MB. It does everthing and more. Was having issues with XMP profile. Updated de Bios and now it is perfect. If you are having issues with Bluetooth, remember to connect the antena. I though was only for wifi but it is for both.

I'm a highly experienced technical professional and have built countless computers for clients. By far, ASUS boards give me the most head-scratching issues and this board is another example. This appears to be a known issue with ASUS, but I get Q-code 04 and occasionally 05 on every shutdown attempt and the computer will never fully shut down. I've tried all that i know to do and have found online. Removed all components except essential, UEFI/BIOS is set to default and up to date and it still happens. One and two sticks of working QVL certified RAM in varying slots as well as other BIOS settings that other people have had some luck with, but it's still doing it. Other than that, this board is lacking for the price. Only one USB 3.0 header. The future proof PCIe 5.0 SSD slot is a joke because it makes the PCIe x16 slot for your GPU run at x8. I don't care if x8 is still enough, it's borderline bait and switch marketing. You can only run RAID on 4 of the 6 SATA ports when competing boards don't have this permanent restriction. Previous ASUS chipsets/boards allowed RAID across all 6. Just overall disappointed with another ASUS board. I need to stop buying them thinking that it will be better this time.

Dear ITprof,
Thank you for your comment.
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused.
All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, if all component or hardware installed are fully-compatible, known good parts, BIOS is up to date and Windows was installed fresh from scratch. this is a random problem.
If you need further assistance with the motherboard, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

A little hard to read most of the print on the board when you’re trying to figure out where to plug everything in, but that can be overlooked for how nice it is. Runs smoothly. Boots up pretty quick. Highly recommend.

WARNING: You will need to update the BIOS using a USB stick and the onboard BIOS flash tool to use 13th gen processor.
Walked into my local BestBuy and decided to buy an Asus z690-e gaming WIFI. I picked up a 13th gen 13700k. I realized when I got home that I needed the latest bios.
In the past, we would need a compatible CPU to flash the BIOS but Asus has a USB port and BIOS button that will flash the bios without a CPU. This saved me from returning the 13700k.
Have no fear in using a Z690 with a 13th gen. Just watch a video on how to update your Bios without a CPU. Very easy and quick.

Good motherboard once you get it work right!! The cd that came with the motherboard for bios, doesnt have the raid controllers. Once you get 10 or higher windows (only!!! Wont be able to install any other windows) some how the motherboard wont let me raid my two M.2 drives. Ive tried to use the hyper card that came with it and wasnt able to read them to install windows, so in return place them on the motherboard itself. Still wasnt able to raid them so thats why the low score, plus! I had to download manually the raid controller off Asus website. I expected more from Asus after spending 450 dollars just for motherboard to work right.

This is an amazing board. The looks, RBG, and architectural structure are great. Worth the investment, if one is building a nice powerful computer fit for both gaming or demanding computational tasks.

I was unfortunate enough to purchase a HERO form ASUS one that was on the recall list so I bought this to replace it while it is getting repaired. In all actuality this is a better board.. On the Hero the aio cooler had to be put in side ways in order to fit and the on screen LCD display for the cooler was side ways. But in this one it fits perfect because there is enough room between the RAM and the CPU for the Cooler to fit in correctly. Besides that this board has many of the features that the Maximus Hero has including WIFI 6E.
