I had the 2022 version of this and i can definetely feel the difference right out of the box, The Display is even more brighter to the point that is hurts my eyes sometimes at night. It has G-Sync which is a welcome addition the 13th Gen i9 While not that much stronger, It has a better efficenecy and stable / less stuttery performance when on battery. Now my favorite parts about the 2023 Models. Way stronger then last year while still cool. This laptop is dead silent on silent mode and with Ultimate mode and the RTX 4080 Is on "Prefer Maximum perofmorance" well as long as you doing light tasks which i couldn't have last like the fans would be at 25/30Dbs so the addition of the third fan helps a lot. Now i do have an opinion on the RTX 4070 and 4080 Variants of this year offered by Bestbuy. The 4080 IS COOLER AND QUEITER. The 4080 has the Thermal Grizzly Conductoonaut Extreme Liquid metal which is the best in the market. While the 4070 i think it has the non Extreme verision it is still pretty cool but not as cool as the 4080 which for that reason i ended up buying the 4080 one.

Have used it for about a week now, running gaming tests and using it for prodictovity tasks and it just blows everything out of the water. Price to performance in comparison to the competion is unmatched. Highly recommend as no other laptop brings mini LED (and trust me bro, is amazing) but it also brings the perfomace you’d see in other brands for $500-1k more.

Solid laptop, pushes its limit in cooling, but uninstalling Armory Crate with Asus' uninstaller (see the rog.asus.com site on how), installing G-Helper and stopping the asus services when you don't need from them within G-Helper turns this in to a 5 star laptop. Gaming on balanced with a 30W power limit (also G-helper) lets you get great framerates at a decent sound level.
The screen is amazing. When not gaming though, best to keep multizone off. Best bet is to map multizone to the Aura key via G-Helper and switch when you need it. Don't forget to use Win+Alt+B to toggle HDR mode before you game!

The laptop is great, although I wasn’t too impressed with the mini-led screen. Battery life isn’t good, but for the specs it makes sense. You’ll need to bring your charger if you plan on taking this out to study anywhere.

Maybe I got a golden sample, but my laptop has absolutely zero issues. Backlight bleed is non-existent and the Mini-LED screen is incredibly vivid. I turn on Single-Zone lighting when gaming and re-enable the Mini-LED multi-zone for content consumption. The trackpad, keyboard, and screen hinges have perfect fit and finish.
I have a desktop that packs a Ryzen 9 5900X and 6900XT. I bought this to game when traveling for work and the framerates are practically the same as my desktop at home at the same settings. It's honestly crazy how powerful gaming laptops have become.
When on battery, I set it to Silent mode and reduce the number of P-Cores to 2 and the E-cores to 4. I get a bit over 7 hours with light web browsing with the screen brightness set to 30% (still plenty bright due to the panel nits rating).

Temperature particularly for cpu is quite high. A bit higher than most other systems but given its thin size it makes sense.

I have used this computer for a week and in comparison to razer blade 16, i decided to keep m16 based on its excellent display, passive cooling mode under light loads and fair price in comparison to other computer manufacturers. Couple negatives: it gives about 10% lower performance in games if you are comparing it to razer blade 16 4080. The dedicated functional buttons, Asus please allow Fn lock so i dont have to press 2 keys to increase/decrease screen brightness, etc this is very annoying. The trackpad makes clicking noise even when lightly tapping. I did not had this issue with dell or razer. The keyboard backlight is somewhat uneven..
Beside these issues, it is a great laptop.

The best overall high end gaming laptop

When it comes to overall experience of owning , carrying around, and using a high end gaming laptop, this was the best I could find during my search. Screen size is ideal for all sorts of applications without being oversized or too wide for portability, weight is still under 5lbs for the whole unit, thickness (while not super thin) is within a fairly slim profile for the power this laptop has, screen brightness & clarity are top notch and very close to the viewing experience of a high end TV, battery life averages 9 to 10 hours from my own use, and most of all gaming performance is not only high end but customizable to fit a balance of performance and fan noise. Personally my only recommendation would have been the addition of the AMD 7940HS from the G14s as it's more power efficient while still blazing fast, not that the i9 13900H is incompetent by any standard.

Open Box ~Can get really loud and thermals on CPU will be around ~90c / GPU ~ 75c under load on AAA games. Idle CPU ~38c…This is after uninstalling AC and bloatware. Tweak with G-Helper is a must. 16.5K TS score. Speakers were tin cannish. Had to update drivers. Still not on MB Pro level… not even close. My iphone sounded better. Battery life unplugged, 2-3 hours. Tweak it if you want more…The display is vibrant and bright.

Really wanted to like this but unfortunately cooling is not enough for gaming and laptop was thermal throttling immediately on most games. This defeats the purpose of having a 4080 if frame rates are limited. the 13900 runs too hot for this application. Plus side is the design and screen a great.

Total powerhouse. The Mini-Led screen is very beautiful, worth the upgrade over the usual IPS panel. Fans do get loud but temps remain very reasonable. The only downside for me was the weight as it is simply too heavy for gaming on the go. I ended up returning it and going for the smaller G14 4060.

All the things you've read are accurate. The MiniLED screen is amazing, but has terrible blooming on non/autoHDR. Lots of weird bugs, will probably do a fresh windows install and hope that helps. It's hard to argue with the gaming specs though! (almost 15,000 Timespy)

Erratic touchpad problem when plugged.
It seems like grounding problem of the touchpad, which is the reason I am going to return this unit.
Others are fine.
It seems like other also have problem with the touchpad.
Used to have G15 with no problem.
