Fans wont turn off in silent mode

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The reason that i think the G14 as a product stands out the most among other gaming laptops, and some other asus gaming laptops as well, is because its basically a fanless ultrabook when not gaming. I want the laptop to have good battery and not suck the dust out of my bedsheet ruining its lifespan when im trying to do basic tasks. The G14 does a great job if not heating up so much on a blanket that the fans have to turn on, but this G14 failed that. Maybe i got a bad one, but overall the duality of the slim gaming laptop cant be compromised. Otherwise whats the point?

Unreliable Laptop

This laptop has given me plenty of issues. The Laptops motherboard was fried due to heating issues which luckily I had geek squad warranty to cover that. The laptop's keyboard would disable by itself occasionally which was super annoying. There are occasional screen flickering, blue screens, and other QC issues. Which shouldn’t be on a laptop that costs around 1500 dollars. Even the chassis chipped on the corners of the laptop which was disappointing since I always take great care of my electronics. Although this laptop plays games very well on 1440p and the display is nice. If you’re on the fence on getting this laptop, I would stay away from it. I had to end up selling this laptop after a year since this laptop has been horrible when it comes to quality and reliability.

I would highly suggest this for someone who know what they want out of a high performance laptop and for the discount at the time it was 100% worth it. However, we eventually had to upgrade to a new model as it was needed to run some of the higher quality VR games. One word of advice befor you buy it is to get a 1 terabyte SSD for your new Asus, the 500MB isn’t suited for these newer larger games. This one will last you a while before you need to upgrade as it has the one of the best heat management features for a laptop of its generation.
