The boy needed a fancy laptop for his nuclear engineering major. I researched & read reviews (from both personal users & computer “experts”) , and this is the computer I chose for him. He loves this computer, & it more than meets every need he has for his major. This should last him through the rest of his college career, including pursuing his master’s degree. We are MacBook users & not gamers, so this was a big change for us. 1000% happy with the choice we made.

Excellent laptop for Gaming, I bought it to play Diablo IV, it works perrrrfect!

Quality control is not good for asus. Took 4 swaps to get one that ran right. 1st Dead battery on arrival, 2nd underperformed pervious version on same test significantly, 3rd screen tearing 24/7 even on simple windows screen on browsing on chrome. But at last my 4th time i got one that worked as advertised and im very happy

Nice little laptop with a lot of good features. But the screen is pretty small so hooking it up to a bigger monitor works better. And, it's had a few glitches, like shutting itself down in the middle of some work a couple of times now. But 2 days past the 2-week return period so they wouldn't let us return it for something else.

Its light, fast and responsive. The display has a good color accuracy and I’m pleasantly suprised by the 4060s performance. My only issue with the laptop is a common issue on gaming laptops but when the GPU switches from integrated to the 4060 the device will freeze up and the display cut out while thats occuring. Its an expected behavior but can be annoying at times if you forget it happens when changing power settings

This is a well built gaming laptop with great performance and display in a 14" package. It is lightweight, moderately slim and fairly quite under stress with a cool white color. The battery life is above average at this performance level, even better if not gaming. I was able to play FPS and RPG games without much video quality sacrifice. I would have like to have the RTX 4080 in this model, but the price would be much higher, so a trade off has to be made.

The battery is really good compared to other laptops and fps on games is good for a gaming laptop.

Aesthetics: This 2023 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop is a beautiful piece of hardware. Overall it looks a lot like last years model (which is a good thing) but with some minor changes. At first I wasn't sure about having a all white laptop with white keys but it looks absolutely stunning in person. Very eye catching. It has a sleek, understated design that is both stylish and professional looking. Even with everything they stuffed into this laptop they still somehow managed to keep it small. The power brick on the other hand is pretty big. Specs: This version of the G14 is powered by a AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card, 16GB of soldered DDR5 RAM, a 512GB nvme M.2 SSD, Wifi 6E, and lots of ports. Comes preinstalled with Windows 11 Home. This configuration provides more than enough power for gaming, creative work, and everyday productivity. The 16GB of DDR5 RAM can handle multitasking with ease. And if you want to upgrade there is an extra empty RAM slot to do so. The 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD provides enough space as long as you don't go crazy and install all your games. Also with this years model you get a 1080p webcam and a larger touch pad. Display: This laptop comes with a 14-inch, LED backlit 120Hz, QHD (2560 x 1440) display. They call it a Nebula Display. With that resolution its 16:10 so you get that extra vertical space which is nice. The display is sharp and clear, with vibrant colors. I noticed its also very bright. It gets brighter than any other gaming laptop I've ever owned. On my model I noticed no visible light bleed either. The 165Hz refresh rate provides smooth and fluid visuals, making it ideal for gaming. Performance: It performs admirably in both gaming and with day to day tasks. Doing general every day stuff like watching videos and surfing the web this laptop was completely silent. I didn't hear the fans kick up until I started really pushing it or launched a game that used the dedicated GPU. The Ryzen 9 processor in this is a beast. With hyper-threading it comes out to be 16 cores! Everything loads and responds quickly as you would expect with a Ryzen 9. It wakes almost instantly after opening the lid and is ready to go. Gaming Stuff: This specific model comes with a Nvidia RTX 4060. Yes you can get this laptop with a 4080/90 but I think the RTX 4060 is a good middle ground. It provides great performance without breaking the bank. Its still a laptop GPU so its lower wattage than the desktop version but the laptop handled every game I threw at it with ease. You can change the mode from silent/performance/turbo/manual depending of if you are plugged in or on battery. I find performance mode is a good balance between performance and fan noise. When gaming it does get noisy, especially if you switch to turbo mode. All gaming laptops like this get pretty warm and have fan noise so its expected when gaming. The keyboard feels somewhat clicky and is easy to type on. Its got nice sized keys and because its a gaming laptop its RGB. You can change the color and effects but its all or nothing so no individual customized key colors which was a bit disappointing. It has multiple levels of brightness though and gets pretty bright on highest setting. I also like what they choose for the shortcut buttons at the top. Since its an ASUS ROG computer it comes with Armory Crate software to tweak and fine tune a bunch of different stuff like keyboard backlights, GPU mode, customizing keys, monitoring performance, etc. Took me a little bit to get used to but once I figured out where everything was I liked it better than some others and it was very responsive. Battery: The battery is 76Wh. It says you can get up to 10 hours of use. Maybe if you turned everything down and just used it for light tasks? I'm averaging around 6 to 7 hours of battery life on a single charge, under normal use when not gaming with it. When gaming I was able to get roughly 1 hour on battery which is on par with other dedicated GPU gaming laptops I've used. So if your going to be gaming and want max performance you will want to have it plugged in. Summary: ASUS did it again! Overall this years G14 laptop is a fantastic all-around laptop. It is powerful, portable, and stylish. If you are looking for a great 14" gaming laptop then get a G14 because this thing is a beast.

Great laptop! Runs quick, quiet and definitely great display to play games with! With the $500 discount, I would definitely recommend to upgrade the SSD to a higher capacity one like a Samsung 990 Pro (make sure you have the right screw driver for the SSD screw, easy to strip). As for the RAM upgrade, it depends on what your laptop usage would be but is easy to upgrade as well.
