Customers admire the ROG Zephyrus G14's performance, battery life, and screen quality, frequently praising its portability and compact size. Many appreciate the upgradable RAM and the sleek design, although some users note that the device can get warm and the fans can be loud. A few customers also mentioned concerns about the keyboard's reliability and the storage capacity. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and portability outweighs the negative comments regarding heat, fan noise, and storage.

I did take some time before deciding to purchase this product. I realized I was never going to get ahold of a black shell version of this with a 4070. My Best buy location only had this version available which decided for me to cough up $1700 for a 4060. Don't get me wrong the AMD processor is good!
The way I see this is it will be good for 1080p gaming - nothing more.
I purchased this laptop for the slim design and hardware specifications it came with it. I have been using it for work which is reliable and during my downtime - I can play Street Fighter 6 on the highest settings. Although once joining a server that is crowded, you will see frames drop.
The only reason I have minus three stars was the availability and limited selection at my Las Cruces, NM Best Buy. Most of the Sales Associates were hesitate to answer my questions about how will the machine will hold up. I didnt feel reassured about the requirements I needed in a Laptop - the only thing I would have to fall back on is the 13 day return policy; which is over now and currently I'm typing this review on the machine.
My advice - hold off on this machine , buy I believe which is the 2022 version. Yes you will not have the 165 hz that this machine displays due to the previous having 120 hz.....BUT you will see how you get a 3070 ti or higher for about 900$ or more. Instead of paying - from what I personally think is overpriced for a 4060 Laptop with a 512gb SSD and a battery that probaly lasts less than two hours while gaming.
I have invested into a 256gb Micro SD card for additional Storage but I have already looked into replacing the built in NvME 512gb SSD, buying additional DDR5 4800 mhz 16gb RAM, and a 1TB Micro SD Card which is about another $200+

First of all I want to say thank you to Best buy. For helping me out with my purchase. In choosing the best laptop. Yes! I want to say with a $600 discount! Yes that's right. The only thing I can think is that I made the best decision because I kill two birds in one shot. I use it for school and play vedeo games. The only thing I need is a PC remote and a PC headset. If I win the $400 that Is the first thing I am going to buy. Every one WINS. Thank you again BEST BUY.

Got it cheap but you NEED an extra cooling fan for it, gets burning hot after 5 mins of usage. Like putting your hand on the stove hot… works very well for gaming and music software so I didn’t mind spending the $20 for a good fan
Also! Idk if it bothers you but it bothered me… there’s no number pad on the right side of the computer, it’s only the number strip on top jsyk.

Great product to bad Best Buy has the worst customer service. Should have purchased the product from Amazon. I was told to call the help center to get assistance in ordering replacement screws for the laptop cover. Wasted 30 minutes talking to someone who refused to assist with my request because she said the store lied even though they handle online orders, and I purchased my laptop online. Laptop run starfield great just need to upgrade ram and hardrive space. Run a bit hot so look for a good cooling pad. Gaming battery life is horrible only get around 75 minutes before you hit 10%.

I got this one a few days ago because i needed something that had a nice display, good speakers, and capable to video edit and play triple A title games at high settings, all for around $1000. I got this laptop on a deal for $1128 after tax. I dont regret it at all. Love the build quality of it, very durable and the keys are just soo nice. Performs very well in Call of Duty: Cold War on high settings. And the fans are a lil loud, not too much to where i find it a problem but it keeps the laptop cool.

The ROG Zephyrus G14 (2023) with the RTX 4060 is an awesome laptop. This was meant to upgrade the 2020 ROG Zephyrus G14 w/ RTX 2060 model I already own.
The reason I rated this 3 stars is mostly from the interactions with customer service.
The unit I purchased was on a 24-hour sale for $999.00 + tax. I only had it for two weeks. It would thermal throttle and start to show visual artifacts under load.
Since I ordered this online from the 24hr sale, I had to speak with the online support to get a replacement setup.
I printed the return label and got the defective laptop ready to ship out then next thing I know I got an email stating that the replacement unit was cancelled.
Another call to support and they told me that the replacement unit was damaged during shipping. The replacement never shipped out so this didn't make much sense.
I was told that I had to return my order and wait for the return to process. Then after I got confirmation of the return I could call the support line again, give them the ticket number and reorder the laptop for a replacement.
I'm currently still waiting for the return to process before I can go to the next step.

Asus has been on a roll lately with their products, and this latest version of the G14 with the Ryzen 9 and RTX 4060 is very powerful while keeping the same compact form factor. That being said, it would have been cool if Asus updated the design of the hardware. If you look at this laptop and the one from the last two years, it’s hard to tell them apart. This new version has a Matte feeling texture coating on the inside. It was a welcome change. It feels comfortable against my Palms and it doesn’t absorb your hands oils. The 4060 comes with 8gb of VRAM. It has performed very good with every game I have installed. I play Fortnite, Rocket League, Tiny Tina’s Wonderland and Destiny 2. Not the most demanding titles, but they all run great at their highest settings with this laptop. They all managed to run at 120fps while plugged in. The screen on this skew looks like an IPS monitor to my eyes, there is some IPS type blooming when looking at dark screens. I could be wrong, so don’t quote me. But it is a very beautiful screen though. It is bright and very vibrant. The colors pop and look saturated. It has 165hz refresh rate and I could not notice any ghosting or input lag. I like the aspect ratio of the screen, it takes advantage of every inch. There is hardly any bezel so when you play a game in full screen, the game pretty much fills all the screen real estate. I really like the screen. It makes it feel a little larger than 14”. If you really plan on taking a gaming laptop with you everywhere, I definitely recommend this 14” over 15.6” or larger. It is so lightweight and hardly takes up any space in my backpack. The keyboard is very responsive and tactile, I’m still not a huge fan of the RGB lighting on this keyboard. It’s hard to tell what keys you’re looking at sometimes with the backlights on. I usually turn them off or choose a blue or green color so that I can see the keys better against the white chiclet keys. There is plenty of ports on this laptop 2 of which are USB C ports which support USB 3.2. I immediately purchased an external 1 TB SSD for this laptop because frankly the 512gb of internal space just isn’t sufficient. I have 4 games installed and I only have about 127gb of free storage available now. So I would highly recommend that you either get an external SSD or upgrade it internally. I personally don’t plan on upgrading the drive internally because the games load just as fast off the external SSD I purchased for it. Battery life is decent when not gaming on the battery. Performance is surprisingly good while on battery. I was able to play rocket league and Destiny 2 at 120fps for about 3 hours before I had to plug it in to charge. I prefer to keep the laptop plugged in when gaming because you’ll get much better performance from the processor and GPU when plugged in, but the battery should get you through a full day if you just do some light web browsing or work / media consumption on it.
Would I recommend this laptop? I’m going to go ahead and say yes.. definitely. The Ryzen 9 chip is very fast while and sips battery power and the Nvidia 4060 will probably be able to run most games coming in the next 5 years. I just really wish Asus would have included at least a 1TB internal drive. Game files are massive now, and 512gb just isn’t enough. If you plan on playing call of Duty on this, you’ll easily fill almost 1/3 of its capacity. I still have to give it a 5 star rating though, this little laptop is very impressive for its size and weight and it is probably the best gaming laptop money can buy in this form factor.
