Runs all the current gen games like butter. Can definitely get warm with some intense gpu titles but its as expected for a gaming laptop.

Did anyone really need me to tell them this computer is awesome? I particularly like the spacing on the keys…and the fact that it is a powerhouse helps. Would recommend to anyone tired of not being able to play that game at the desired settings. Not an issue anymore. This machine loaded and played Star Wars with no problems (my acer space edition, Intel I9 chip, would not load the game.) This graphics processor is way better and the Ryzen chip is pretty awesome too. This computer is also set up to run all kinds of A.I. programming. Next level stuff!

Great gaming pc let alone laptop I upgraded the ram with an extra 16gb stick from Best Buy and it runs any game you through at it I love this thing so much

The ASUS-ROG (Republic of Gamers) Zephyrus GA 402x laptop is a 14-inch display gaming laptop in Moonlight White. This laptop features a 14" LCD, WQXGA display, NVidia GEForce RTX graphics with 8GB VRAM and G-Sync. The CPU is an AMD R9, 7940. There is a 512GB PCIE G4 SSD hard drive with 16GB of DDR5 RAM. There are USB, USB C and HDMI ports on the laptop and a surprise, a Mini SD card slot instead of the usual SD slot. I have not yet explored expandability. I had a bit of confusion upon unboxing the laptop, I was surprised to see the perforated lid which looked like the AniMe feature that I wasn't expecting on this computer. After some research I discovered that this computer did not have this feature after all. The box has OMNI and Electronic Music printed on the front. I'm not sure if this refers to one or two things. A little more research shows OMNI to be the virtual assistant and I could find no reference to electronic music. My first impression when beginning to use the computer is that the backlit keyboard is harder for me to see in a normally lit room than it is with the backlights off, some of the letters appear partially lit. Adjusting the color changing keyboard to the maximum brightness and white helped. Initial setup was reasonably quick but there were quite a few updates afterwards. After my initial exploration and setup, I loaded the memory card from my camera. Neither loading, scrolling through nor editing the 102-megapixel Raw images caused the laptop to slow down (the fans didn't even kick in). My images look great on this display and it's nice to know that the display is Pantone Validated. I sampled the included games, streamed from several sources and found that nothing slowed this powerhouse laptop down. I have always been attracted to gaming laptops in spite of not being a gamer. The higher end processers and graphics cards with larger than average memory and storage always provide great performance with my photos as well as my large databases. As with my past ASUS ROG laptops this downsized version is great and aside from a bit of initial feature confusion, this is great!

This laptop has worked amazingly for the gaming purposes that I wanted it for, I would definitely recommend getting it, graphics is amazing processing speed is amazing, anything I would suggest is get a cooling pad for it right away because it does get very hot once you start gaming on it which is usually normal for gaming laptops, but over all I think it’s a great system

Bought it for school, and to play games. Works well, and you could upgrade the ram card and memory stick (I think). It’s very quiet in class. Some settings can be made to extend battery life! And it works for the whole day of school. Only flaw is the republic of gamers screen showing when it opens.

Honestly, I was always a fan of ASUS Rog Zephyrus Series. previously owning its flagship S17 model, recently looking for a choice with both power , perf and compatibility found this as the perfect option. And I don't regret the choice , I love it to the core and recommend to anyone!

We love our new laptop. We use it for my wife's sewing projects which we downloaded apps with no issue, It is very fast and responsive. The keys have a good feel and response. Very happy with the price.

Its a great computer and can run almost any game I threw at it without stuttering or lagging. It can get a little loud but that is to be expected with a gaming laptop, especially one this powerful

Good battery life, good gpu and cpu, should last for a while. There were a few issues with the laptop, but I was able yo fix it relatively quick with guides from the internet.

Honestly I couldn't ask for a better all around laptop & alot of these reviews I see just say it all. I got this a few weeks ago as a birthday gift. Let me just say. It runs amazing!! Also starfield looks gorgeous.

For what it is, very good product. Relatively cheap price, has powerful performance, and has a good keyboard + aesthetic to boot. A view issues I had was bad backlight bleed/IPS glare on the bottom corners of the screen which is a BIG issue if you enjoy watching/playing content with dark/low lighting; ESPECIALLY awful for movies and TV shows considering the 16:10 aspect ratio forces black bars on the top and bottom of the screen, making the issue exponentially worse. For whatever reason the first unit I bought didn't have working wifi.... and after I replaced it with a new one 3 weeks later there were Bluetooth issues. The Bluetooth issues were able to be fixed with no problem by uninstalling and reinstalling drivers but still a very big issue for someone not willing to go through all that. The battery life is what I would expect from a machine like this, pretty decent but nothing to brag about. The 2022 model somehow how longer battery life on light use than the 2023 model, which is a weird "quirk" but on higher loads, the 2023 is better. Lasted me about 4-8 hours on a full charge depending on what I was doing. The surface of the laptop was very hot when gaming which can be very uncomfortable, and even painful at times. I set a temperature limit to make sure the components wouldn't get that hot, but very big design flaw for a laptop that is meant to be thin and light ie. used on your lap or in other odd circumstances. Very powerful and portable machine, for a pretty good price if you can catch it on sale, but it takes some time and tinkering to optimize. Not quite as "plug-and-play" as I would like this laptop to be.

Computers works better than I ever expected. I expected a lot from this computer too. I would definately recomend.

Coming in at a small 14” screen, the ASUS ROG is certainly a spectacle to behold. The ROG comes in a meticulous box, unlike most generic packages, with the intent of creating a “luxury gaming” aesthetic. Upon the initial booting, there was quite a noticeable amount of time for the screen to turn on, which is not ideal. Subsequent boot up times were also long. The charging, utility, and gaming ports, unlike most laptops, are at the center of the lefthand side which perhaps makes it easier since you won’t have wires wrapping around the laptop. The interior finish of the ROG has a matte feel which further distinguish it from their gaming laptop competitors. Additionally, there are three color options for the keyboard backlight in regards to brightness which is a nice touch. However, these features are ultimately trivial. The keyboard is as equally compact as the screen, making it difficult for everyday utility use such as writing but that nay simply be a personal preference. Before launching any game, the laptop already felt quite warm so it would be best to play on a flat and cool surface to prevent any issues. What was realized later when playing a game was that the ROG never quite escalated in processing which, in turn, never caused it to overheat. The graphics on the games were incredibly low fidelity, coupled with a small screen, making it a very unenjoyable experience. Although the ROG is certainly capable of displaying UHD, it does not appear to be a defaulted option. In terms of quietness, the ROG is fairly silent and the fans are not too noticeable but as mentioned before, it is likely the low processing power is the reason behind these qualities. Upon a second attempt at gaming after a reboot, the graphics were a lot better but it still falls short of expectations given the cost of the ROG and effort placed to make it appear as a luxury gaming machine. With adjustable settings, processing power can be altered to improve the graphics and framerate; however, even at its best, it falls short of the larger more powerful gaming laptops. While small, the ROG does have appeal for a more casual gamer who uses it for everyday activities and the occasional gaming every now and then. But without the addition of add-ons to aid with the processing and RAM, this laptop is not ideal for the more hardcore gamer. In addition, the 512 Gig storage is relatively low and will limit the amount of modern games you can have on hand to just a few.

The 14-inch QHD display with a 165Hz refresh rate is nothing short of spectacular. The colors are vibrant, and the high refresh rate provides smooth gameplay, making it a joy for both work and play. The size of the laptop strikes a perfect balance between portability and screen real estate.

Amazing little gaming laptop for the price. Also easily user upgradable. already bumped the RAM and SSDs. Good battery life too.

Performance has been fantastic but there are some obvious quality control issues. My first laptop came with a faulty display. Luckily the exchange with Best Buy was easy and quick, so I didn’t mind that much. The bottom panel doesn’t fit perfectly with the laptop and the left speaker has a little rattle at high volumes. However, I got this computer at a great price from Best Buy, so I’m overall quite happy with the purchase!

Solid laptop, came from a 16 inch lenovo legion and this feels so much better. Upgrade of the ram was simple and took 5 minutes.
