This little ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G14 powerhouse is a wonderful addition to my gaming options. I also own an ASUS GT15CF-I73080VR Gaming Desktop with an Nvidia RTX 3080. I’ve been very impressed and happy with Asus products so I jumped at this opportunity. The G14 sports a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti with 12gb of GDDR7 VRAM, and WOW does it deliver. I only get a few hours per week to game with life getting in the way. I’ve strictly been using this laptop to game for the last week. It’s been great and it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it. For whatever reason, I’ve been stuck playing Cuphead again. Just kidding, I know the reasons, it’s such a beautiful well-made game for one, and it’s still a great challenge even after beating it previously. The 14” 16:10 OLED display just pops, especially with Cuphead. The colors are so extremely vivid, I’ve never experienced anything like it. The speakers are so loud, I almost forgot to test them as I was use my headphones for the majority of my gaming. Asus knocked this one out of the park as well, as it’s considerably clearer than my desktop speakers. Outside construction is very sturdy and the laptop itself is slim, lightweight, and feels great all-around. From my count there is 1- HDMI port, 1- USB-C port, 2 total USB-A , audio jack input, 1- USB-C Gen 2, micro SD reader. The power input is something I’ve never seen before, it’s a square port/plug-in that reminds me of Apples lightning connection. The plug is both female and male, likewise with the port on the laptop. The port on the laptop is female with an internal male connection. I would put money on this being proprietary to Asus, unless I’m just behind the times? I like the function / shortcut keys and the fact there are so many available options at the touch of a button. That said, literally as I type this review, I pressed the function key + F5 to change the operating mode, and the PC froze up. This is the second time now this laptop has frozen and it’s very concerning since it’s only a week old. The first time it froze when I was initially setting up the laptop. The keyboard strokes are very pleasant and quiet. Trackpad is well made and responsive.During gameplay, and also when I was bench testing, the very top material above the keyboard is getting extremely hot. The middle of the keyboard itself also seems to generate quite a bit of heat. I like face recognition, as it opens up the laptop without a password. That said, I don’t like the fact that you cannot physically close the camera. Paranoid, maybe, even still, I want the option to physically close off the camera. Trivial and by no means not even close to a deal breaker. This is a Copilot+ PC, I’ve been having a lot of fun using the Paint app with Copilot. The AI-based image generation is insane, and I cannot wait to see what this will bring in the future as AI continues to get better. My family is getting annoyed with me showing them the images I’ve been generating with this. For testing I was also playing Days Gone. Switching the Operating mode to Turbo is where this little beast really started working hard. At one point the CPU temps were into the high 80 degrees Celsius. The fans started kicking in and having a hard time keeping things at bay. The decibels were coming around 40-45 dBA. But honestly if you’re going to run a laptop like this for gaming, you should have a fan cooled laptop pad or stand. At the very least get it up and off a flat surface. The vents cover 2/3 of the bottom of the laptop. I can’t say enough good things about this laptop, sturdy, state of the art, powerful to handle anything you can dish out at it, and just a joy to use. Rating for this is a 4.5 due to the crashing issues I’ve experienced personally, otherwise it would be a solid 5/5.

I chose this laptop because I wanted a powerhouse gaming laptop that was smaller, lighter, and easier to travel with after having a 16" Lenovo Legion for over 5 years. The weight and size are perfect for what I was looking for. The power adapter is a decent weight, but nothing unexpected. The OLED is very crisp, with multiple lighting styles to suit different needs. I love the feel of typing on the keyboard and while the trackpad is reasonably large, it never gets in the way while typing. Gaming is smooth and visual-intensive games (Witcher III, Skyrim) look great on this screen with no noticeable issues on gameplay so far. This laptop does everything that is promised, but there are a few things buyers should be aware of: - The laptop gets warm-hot to the touch if sitting flat on a desk or lap. A stand/riser ($15-20) is a necessity and it runs smoother when performing heavy tasks if tweaks to the fan profiles are made in the ArmoryCrate (for gaming, video editing, etc). - A graphics driver update is not performed as part of the initial setup, but I would highly recommend performing one ASAP. There are known issues with ASUS computers that the graphics driver update should (more often than not) resolve. - Battery life is decent--using silent mode--when working on daily tasks (internet browsing, Microsoft 365 products, streaming). I've typically gotten ~3-4 hrs before it hits 40%. - For the platinum white color, the backlit color of the keyboard can be hard to see in bright light. Overall, it's a great purchase, but for the few reasons given above, it's not perfect. That said, the amount of power they've crammed in this frame is astounding and it's still the best for its size/weight/style.

Buggy AMD drivers keep causing this BRAND NEW device to BSOD. I can't stand Windows!

TL;DR If you need a 14-inch laptop that can handle MATLAB/Simulink, CAD/CAE (SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360, ANSYS), coding, and the occasional AAA game without turning your backpack into a brick, the 2025 G14 with RTX 5070 Ti and 32GB RAM is the sweet spot. It pairs the new Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 performance with a 3K 120 Hz OLED, strong thermals for its size, and a practical port selection — all while staying around 3.46 lb / 0.63 in thick. Battery life isn’t amazing, but it’s good enough for a day of classes with power-saving modes. Why it’s great for engineering work: 1) Real workstation-class compute in a 14-inch chassis The 2025 G14 can be configured with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (12 cores / 24 threads, Zen 5) — a serious step up for multi-threaded compiles, simulations, and MATLAB tasks — paired with NVIDIA RTX 50-series GPUs. The 5070 Ti variant hits the right balance between performance and thermals, with CUDA support for GPU-accelerated simulation and machine learning toolboxes. 2) GPU power that matches your workload The 5070 Ti is fast enough to outrun rival 14-inch laptops without the heat and noise tradeoffs of the top-tier GPU configurations. What I liked: • Top-tier performance in a truly portable body. • Gorgeous OLED with 120 Hz refresh — easy on the eyes. • Thoughtful I/O (HDMI, USB-A, USB4, PD, microSD). • Excellent build quality, keyboard, and trackpad. What could be better • Battery life is good but not exceptional — long simulation sessions will need a charger. • Fans can get loud under heavy load (expected for this much power in 14”). • OLED brightness is great indoors but not ideal in direct sunlight. • The GPU is slightly power-limited compared to the same chip in larger laptops. Verdict for engineering students: The 2025 Zephyrus G14 (32GB / RTX 5070 Ti) nails the balance engineering students need: workstation-class performance, CUDA for compute, a gorgeous OLED display, and a truly portable chassis with all the ports you’ll actually use. If you want one laptop for CAD, coding, simulations, and gaming — and you value portability as much as raw performance — this is the best 14-inch option of 2025.

I purchased this laptop for video editing using DaVinci Resolve and remote DIT work when I travel overseas. It updated it's bios 3 times in the middle of an edit. it also restarted multiple times in the middle of an edit. I used capcut which it was preinstalled. But I use Canon RAW and this computer can't seems to handle it.

For the last year I have been using the ROG Zephyrus G16, and I have absolutely loved it. It quickly became one of my favorite devices that I have used in the last few years. The build quality is phenomenal, the performance blows many other laptops away, especially in this form factor. Honestly, it had been my go-to device to manage just about everything, whether it be for work of fun. I carried the G16 with me daily back and forth to work and back for since it released a years ago. When I saw the new G14 I thought this might be exactly what I wanted, the only negative thing I could say about the G16 (and it’s a minor, personal issue) is that it is a tad too bulky to be commuting with it daily. The G14 is my sweet spot for laptop size. It is so compact. I have fallen in love with the G14 over the last week or so that I have been using it. If you have ever used the G16, it is honestly about the same in every regard except for the size. The G14 still retains the great build quality, same great aluminum chassis, same great keyboard and large trackpad, and even still best-in-class speakers. Performance is still what you would expect from a ROG Zephyrus running 32GB of RAM, a RTX 5070 Ti, and an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. No matter what task or game I throw at this it handles it with no issue. Moving around numerous tabs in Chrome and apps is no issue. In general, the system just runs smoothly and flows between windows with no hiccups. I’ve been playing some of the newer AAA games that have launched recently and this G14 has been able to handle it with no problems. Doom: Dark Ages, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are all able to run smoothly with beautiful graphics. The screen on this G14 is gorgeous and those games really shine on here. I haven’t noticed drops in frames, load times are minimal. Even in Doom, where everything moves so fast, nothing every pulls you out of the immersion. I won’t get into the technical, just know that this laptop will not disappoint in gaming. Even older games like WoW, Sifu, Fortnite, Diablo, Path of Exile, etc; they all run generally at Max or close to max visual settings at a nice stable framerate. Fan noise and thermals are tolerable as long as you are not trying to use this on your lap while you game. The top part of the base near the screen does get quite hot, especially when really using the graphics card in high end games, but expected for a gaming laptop. Fans are never even noticeable unless you again playing AAA games, then the fans are definitely noticeable unless you wear headphones or have a nice sound system to go with this. Not recommended to game on if you trying to be quiet, say in the same room as your sleeping partner. Again, thermal and fan noise are just part of what to expect when using a gaming laptop. I do love that I can hardly notice the fans when not gaming. This is going to sound kinda crazy when talking about a top-end gaming laptop, but one of my favorite things about it is how great it is to use for work and everyday things. The gorgeous screen, perfect size, and superior thermals make this such a joy to use. The keyboard is amazing, the trackpad feels great to use. I never notice the fans when I am doing day to day things. I’ve used it for hours at a time on my lap or laying in bed and never felt it heating up my lap. Battery is also very respectable for a system this powerful. I’ve binged watched shows for hours and worked on projects for work without feeling anxiety about my battery giving out. I was using a M4 MacBook Pro last year and the G14 is the closest thing to getting that same felling while using the MacBook. Everything feels so nice and well thought out. If you have made it this far in this length review, you already know I am going to highly recommend the G14, it is the perfect laptop for me. I can play any game I want, it handles anything I need to do for work, it is so light and compact that commuting with it is not an issue, and the build quality is phenomenal. One last thing; everything about this is amazing, but one thing I feel like I didn’t give enough time is the sound. I haven’t really even used my Bluetooth speaker since I started using the G14. The speakers on this laptop are so great. Volume gets so low, I normally keep it between 10-25. The sound is so clear and crisp. Music sounds great, movies feel very immersive as do games. Honestly, this is an all-around excellent device. The only thing I would change is to add a larger SSD. It comes with a 1TB and I might end up upgrading that later on, but that is a small issue. This would be a great graduation gift for your college bound gamer. Easy enough to carry to classes with great battery life, and enough power to handle any games they want to play.

I started out building computers way back in the nineties. One thing that has always been consistent for my builds, has been ASUS motherboards. I have had the pleasure of watching ASUS grow into the industry leading company that they are today. The new ROG G14 is no exception. While nothing is ever “perfect,” the G14 gets extremely close in the mobile computing tech space. From its premium build quality, to its performance, and unbelievably excellent display, the ASUS ROG G14 just might be the perfect compact daily driver on the market today. — BUILD — The all aluminum chassis and white color screams elegance while feeling and looking premium in every way possible. Add in the new customizable LED lighting on the lid and you have a mobile computing package that wants to be seen. The keys have a great tactile response and are easy on the fingers. As comfortable as they may be, I do have a small issue with the backlighting of the keys. While it is great that you can customize the color and effect in the included ASUS Armory Crate software, there is a problem with the backlighting of the corners of the keys where the F keys and smaller symbols are displayed. Some of them are illuminated more than others, but most are pretty dull/dark and are hard to read (see photo). While this is a pretty small issue, I do expect ASUS to do better in this area, and care should be taken upon updating for the next release. — DISPLAY — I have to admit, as a professional photographer and videographer by day, and gamer by night, the display is and will always be one of the biggest deciding factors for me when selecting a laptop, or stand alone monitor. Gaming laptops, until recently, have always seemed to be stuck at 1080, and that is simply unacceptable for today's standards. Now that companies like ASUS are finally giving us higher resolution monitors, like the beautiful 3K display included on this computer, we can finally start using these gaming marketed laptops for multi use scenarios, including photo and video editing. Gaming laptops have (mostly) always had the processors and RAM to handle video editing, so now that we have the beautiful 3K display, we are all set to be productive and to also unwind with our favorite top tier games all on the same computer wherever we may be. This display is sharp, vibrant, and very bright. Text is super clear, which is a very welcome addition to Windows based computers. Whites are bright, blacks are deep. It is simply stunning to look at, whether you are gaming, editing, or watching movies. I can’t say enough good things about it. Thank you, ASUS! — PERFORMANCE — Having 32GB of RAM on this model standard, makes this machine capable of everything I need a computer to do right out of the box. This includes everything I mentioned previously, such as photo and video editing, general daily use, and of course, gaming. I have tried several titles in the last week, including the newly remastered Oblivion, the ambitious and fun Avowed, and one of my all time favorites, Diablo IV. The ROG G14 hasn’t had so much as a single hiccup loading or playing any of these excellent games, and for me, that is all I can ask. The AMD Ryzen 9, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, and the excellent 120Hz display all come together in unison to create a more than capable and compelling mobile computing powerhouse. If there was one thing I could comment on that is consistent with any gaming laptop I have had in the past, is the fact that it does get a little warm to the touch when playing graphically intense games. Rest assured, gaming laptops have always been this way, and are designed to be able to handle the heat appropriately. Ultimately, if I can take a laptop wherever I want to go and work, or play top tier games all on the same computer, I am one happy camper. — SOUND — Normally, laptop speakers are one of the most overlooked areas in development, but I am happy to report that ASUS must have listened, and have included a set of speakers that are among the loudest, and best sounding I have ever had on any laptop I have ever owned. Another thank you, ASUS! All of that said, I do use Bluetooth over the ear headphones most of the time, but the fact that these speakers do sound great is certainly worth mentioning for those that may prefer using them as opposed to tuning out of your surroundings completely. — PORTS — All of the usual suspects are present, including HDMI, USB-A, USB-C (with Display Port support and power delivery), a 3.5mm micro headphone/mic combo jack, and a micro SD card reader. While I appreciate the ports provided, I would like to see at least one more USB-C port, and a full size SD card reader instead of the micro SD card reader. Again, this is me talking as a photographer, and videographer. I think most users, if given the choice, would definitely opt for a full size SD card reader. You could then simply use an adapter to use a micro SD card. Not as easy the other way around. Are you listening, ASUS?! — BATTERY — I haven’t had the chance to fully test the battery in the short time I have had the computer, but I did run it on battery at home to see what it could handle while gaming. It seems to be on par with any other gaming laptop I have had in the past, or even marginally better considering this is the 14” model. I rarely have the need to use the computer on battery power alone, as I have battery packs that I can take with me on the road if needed. — WEBCAM — This model has a 1080 webcam built in. I honestly do not use these very often, and would prefer that ASUS would give us the option to close the iris with a slider like other models do. — IN CONCLUSION — As previously mentioned, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is a highly capable laptop that tackles the high demanding applications I use daily with ease. The few issues I mentioned, key backlighting, SD card slot, and heat under intense use, are minor in the grand scope of what you get with this computer. If you want a computer that really does it all, and does it all well, I can highly recommend the ASUS Rog Zephyrus G14.

What makes this laptop different from all the other gaming laptops recently released? I hope to bring some clarity to this question with my review. Currently, the number of 2025 model year gaming laptops containing a NVIDIA RTX 5000 series graphics card has increased considerably now that the entry level 5060 cards have hit the market. Keeping this in mind, it’s important to note that this laptop, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14, contains a 5070 TI series graphics card. Essentially, this card is a step up from the entry level 5060 cards. So, it not only has a stronger GPU with more processing power, but more importantly, it comes with more video memory (VRAM). And in this case, the RTX 5070 TI has 12 GB of VRAM versus the 5060’s 8 GB. The additional video memory, in my opinion, is going to make a significant difference when playing the latest AAA games, such as Cyberpunk 2077 or Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. These games are so complex and large in size that the more video memory your graphics card comes with, the better the games look and play. In addition to the better graphics card, this laptop comes with 32 GB of standard memory. Again, the more memory the better, especially if you want to future proof your laptop. Like I mentioned earlier, games and programs are becoming more demanding, and soon 32 GB will be the recommended amount of system memory for any gaming PC. Still, the specs discussed so far do not describe the uniqueness of this laptop. A better graphics card and a lot of memory can be found in many of the other gaming laptops on sale at Best Buy. However, it is very unique that these and other specs are housed in a laptop as light and portable as this one. Weighing only 3.46 pounds, it’s easy to carry anywhere. A laptop such as this would be perfect for someone who needs the power of a gaming pc but also needs something light, thin, and easy to transport. On top of this, the quality and look is very high end. The body is made from aluminum and has the look and feel comparable to a MacBook Pro. And more importantly, the size and aesthetics do not affect the laptop’s performance. Given its size, I was curious to see how well it would perform in games. I mention size because sometimes a smaller chassis can limit the amount of airflow and cooling on inside components. However, the G14 is a solid performer. To illustrate this, I tested this gaming laptop against two other gaming laptops I own. The first one is an RTX 4060 with 8 GB of VRAM paired with a 13th generation Intel Core i7 13700HX processor with 16 GB of system RAM. The other gaming laptop has a beastly RTX 4090 with 32 GB of RAM paired with a 14th generation Intel Core Ultra 9 185H. Of course, this is not an apple-to-apple comparison, but it’s what I currently own. And it may allow someone who is looking to upgrade from a similar system a chance to see differences in frames per second (FPS). To begin, I put each laptop through Unigine’s SuperPosition benchmark (see images). The new Zephyrus G14 scored 8921 with an average frame rate of 67 and a minimum of 53. I tested all three laptops using the same 1080p Extreme graphics settings. Also, each laptop had its highest performance mode turned on. Back to the comparison, the more powerful older laptop with the RTX 4090 scored 9229 with an average frame rate of 69 and a minimum of 47. And the RTX 4070 laptop scored 5701 with an average frame rate of 43 and a minimum of 37. So, compared to the older 4070 laptop, this 5070 TI system doubles its score and improves its FPS by 56%. When compared to the 4090 laptop, the G14 came close to the 4090’s score and was only off by a couple of FPS. In real world gaming though, the newer 5070 card on this G14 will allow up to 4 times multi frame generation (MFG), while the older 4090 is only capable of 2 times MFG. Depending on the game, this may allow for higher FPS mainly because of the latest MFG technology available in the newer NVIDIA RTX 5000 series graphic cards. The next game I used to compare the laptops was the new Indiana Jones and the Great Circle release (see images). If there ever is a game that needs a lot of video RAM, then this one is it. There is so much scenery, sunlight, and various other details, the game benefits from as having the data stored on the graphic card’s faster video RAM versus needing to get it from the main hard drive, or solid-state drive (SSD) as is the case with these laptops. This is where the older 4090 with 32 GB of VRAM helps. But the 5070 TI’s 12 GB of VRAM is still a good amount. As you’ll see in the results, the 4090 still performs better, but the 5070 TI is still capable of generating a good frame rate (anything above 60 FPS). Both laptops were tested using the following settings in the game: 1080p, all the graphic quality settings set to high, Ray Tracing (RT) on Medium, DLSS turned on using the Quality setting, and MFG of 2 time for the 4090 and 4 times for the 5070 TI. As seen in the images, the 4090 was getting FPS in the 100 range. And the 5070 TI was getting FPS in the mid-70s. So, in this case, of course the 4090 outperformed the 5070, but it’s important to keep in mind the cost of each laptop. The 4090 would easily be twice as much as the 5070 TI at launch. And it is the difference in cost that makes this G14 laptop stand out from the many other gaming laptops available today. The cost of this laptop is still within a reasonable amount of the lower-level RTX 5060 gaming PCs. Again, the benefit of this laptop is if someone wants a better graphics card with more available video RAM then the entry level 5060s. Not only does the 5070 TI graphics card have more VRAM, but it is also a stronger video card with more CUDA cores, RT cores, and Tensor cores than the 5060. Simple put, you’ll get a stronger gaming PC in the G14 without breaking the bank. However, you’ll also want to consider your other needs. Like, are you wanting a light and portable gaming PC? Is the premium build and look important to you? Will a 14-inch screen work for you? Will you be doing any creative work on this laptop? Regarding the last question, it is worth mentioning that the OLED screen is amazing. Overall, this laptop’s build and look is impressive. And for those still reading my review, I want to mention that as for the 4070 laptop used in my comparison above, it was not even able to play the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle game using the same settings that the 4090 and the 5070 TI were tested under. Many of the visual features were turned off or toned down for the older 4070. The game still played well with good FPS, but the graphics were pretty basic compared to output of this G14 gaming laptop. The only negative I have with this laptop is the sensitivity of the touchpad. I think because of its large size, my hands touch it a lot while typing. This can get annoying when you’re trying to type and the cursor is moving to different places. I guess I’ll just have to get use to it and hope it become less of a distraction over time. But really, everything else about this laptop is topnotch. It truly is a premium machine.

This is the highest performance-per-dollar you'll get in the Zephyrus G14 lineup, and probably out of any 14" laptop on the market. No other 14" laptop goes past an RTX 5070, which means you're stuck with 8GB VRAM on those, and the 5070 Ti just performs way better. I had the RTX 5080 version as well, which gave up to a 15% increase in fps over this one, but it's about 30% more expensive too, so something to keep in mind. Outside of performance, this thing has amazing battery life, an awesome CPU, beautiful oled display, fantastic speakers, all while being extremely thin and light. I found that this 5070 Ti model actually matches the RTX 4090 G14 from last gen in most games, despite having a lower Time Spy score than that one, so that is really cool to see. The only thing I think might set some people back is the fans are very loud while gaming, but when you're doing basic stuff they're dead quiet or just not running at all. Overall, I think this G14 is the best 14" laptop on the market as far as value for how much performance you get, if you can justify the cost, especially when it's on sale or open-box!

After updates, I installed some of my favorite games: Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered, Hogwarts Legacy, Clair Obscur, and Expedition 33. Playing these games on the go feels fantastic. The visuals that this computer offers are amazing for a portable device. I quickly paired one of my Xbox controllers and it worked as expected. I played my games with the laptop plugged into an outlet at all times, so battery was never an issue. When playing I first tried to game without headphones and just used the audio from the laptop itself. The audio is very good, within the limitations of laptop speakers. If playing in a quiet hotel room, like I was, then this is an ideal way for downtime just before bed during your vacation. If you’re going to use this laptop to game while at work, it is also a good laptop to get some matches in during lunchtime. For this occasion, I played a couple of games without being plugged into an outlet. The battery lasted me almost 2 hours before I got a notification that I needed to plug back in. As far as storage goes, 1TB isn’t enough if this is the only dedicated gaming machine you have and you are an avid gamer. However, if this is your gaming machine you use when traveling, then 1TB is more than enough to install your favorite 3-4 games for on-the-go gaming. Some quality-of-life features that I enjoy are logging in with face-recognition. After you turn on your computers, if you’ve set up face recognition log in, you don’t have to enter your password anymore. It’ll be like unlocking your iPhone, and it works well. The keyboard lighting is also fantastic for in-the-dark gaming. The mousepad is sizable and that is appreciated. The lightness of the laptop makes it ideal to carry around in a backpack. Some things to know: This laptop doesn’t have a number pad, when gaming, the fan can be noisy and the laptop can get hot. Additionally, if you’re used to gaming on a bigger screen, then the screen for this laptop, at 14”, will feel smaller, but that doesn’t take away from how awesome the visuals look. Lastly, I tried this laptop for my content creation needs. Specifically, I used CapCut Desktop pro to edit my 4K footage of my weekend business (Dance Company). The laptop was able to handle my 4K video footage running it from an external USB-C drive. The rendering preview of the footage didn’t skip, and adding transitions and effects didn’t slow down the software. --- APPROVAL --- Overall, this laptop is a powerbeast and it is great for gaming and editing on the go. I highly recommend this laptop.

It also feels solid in the hand despite being fairly light (under 3.5 pounds). This makes it great for gaming and for at work, since it’s easy to carry around and blends in well in meetings. The keys are really stable (compared to others where you can feel a little of the wobble when you press them), which offers a noticeable smooth typing experience. Similarly, the large trackpad is great to use. The 3K OLED screen is one of the standout features, and, with its small bezels, offers an excellent and immersive HDR video and gaming experience. It also houses the camera system, and the IR camera does a great and fast job at facial recognition for unlocking the system. The audio experience, unfortunately, isn’t as great. On the one hand, the speakers do a good job of creating a spatial audio experience, and the sound is quite loud. On the other, the sound quality is mediocre. Mids come across well, but the highs get muffled. Bass/lows also don’t come across super well, with, perhaps, the exception of the snare drum which has decent punch. Review (Performance): Although the G14 is a capable productivity and content creation machine, I’ll focus on gaming. The machine boasts an AMD Ryzen AI 9 processor, 32GB RAM, and a 12GB Nvidia 5070 Ti graphics card, which really delivers on gaming performance. Since I got the machine, I’ve mostly been playing Robocop: Rogue City (2023). Auto detect sets the graphics to max resolution (2800x1800) and highest quality (epic) for all but two settings (which auto set to high) . With these settings, the game runs perfectly, and I haven’t noticed any performance drops even after hour+ play sessions. I’ve also spent a little bit of time replaying Gotham Knights (2023), which also auto detects to max resolution and highest quality for all but one setting (with ray tracing turned off). Overall, game performance is fantastic. That said, I have noticed two issues. The first, which is very minor, is that the system seems to freeze for second when the Nvidia software controller switches from integrated graphics to dedicated graphics and vice versa. It’s not really problematic, but the freeze is definitely noticeable. Perhaps this is something that will be addressed in a software update. The second is related to the cooling system. Perhaps because it is a 14 inch laptop, the fan/exhaust system tends to be higher pitched and noisier when compared to my other, 16” gaming machine. During gaming sessions on the G14, the fans run at max speed all of the time. I tried turning the settings down (1080p, low quality), but it doesn’t seem to matter. I’ve also noticed the sound of the fan under minimal load such as just downloading files off the internet, and so I end up setting the computer to silent mode in Armory Crate when in meetings.

It’s got the looks, the feel, and the power to back it all up. *Unfortunately, the battery life is subpar unless you’re able to configure your settings to be as efficient as possible. The laptop does get warm under light usage as well, but as with the battery, it can be improved with adjusted settings as well. The higher tiered options of the GPU are, unfortunately, underpowered as it’s not receiving the maximum wattage they’re capable of. For the best bang of the buck you’re best be is to go with the mid-tiered option of the 5070ti and you’ll also be getting the 32GB ram as well.

This laptop is a big step up from my 2021 model with a 3060. It's sleek, powerful, and feels very well built. The speakers and display are much improved, especially with the 14'' form factor. For most users, the 120Hz screen is plenty; if you're into competitive shooters, you'll still want an external monitor. On the downside, the pre-installed Windows is full of bloatware, and I had some crashes both in games and at login. Swapping to a 4TB SSD and doing a clean install (without Armoury Crate) made a big difference. G-Helper is a great lightweight tool for managing GPU selection, display settings, and CPU boost—plus it keeps track of your driver status. I have yet to boot and install Linux, so will update once I try. Performance-wise, the 5070Ti is strong for the size, even with a slightly limited TDP (110W standard boost, 120W via G-Helper). However, 16GB VRAM would have been better for modern AAA titles; some games like Indiana Jones already show issues with the 12GB buffer. The AMD HX Chip feels similar to the 2021 gen as it is very efficient, but has considerable improvement in compute. The 32GB of Dram is soldered... but it's LPDDR5X 8000MT/s. For everything else, performance has been excellent so far—I’ll update once I’ve tested more titles, especially on an external monitor. Battery life is solid for Windows (not quite Apple Silicon levels, but good enough for a full day at school). When gaming, though, this laptop runs hot—definitely consider a cooling pad for longer sessions. I enjoy using the keyboard a lot, it feels even better than the 2021 version. Probably the best laptop keyboard even comparing to Macbook Pro. I think windows hello is okay, after a clean OS install it was not that slow. An improved fingerprint scanner would have been the better option. The webcam is okay but nothing to write home about. Overall, if ASUS can fix some software/driver issues, this might be the best dual-duty lightweight Windows laptop out there. Lightbar needs to go. I turned it off the first day and I think it would look more sleek without it.

I think this is one the most powerful 14" gaming laptop that I have used (you get what you pay for :)). In short, it has a very sleek and premium design, awesome/sharp OLED display, great speakers and a number of inputs that should suffice all your needs. The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and NVidia RTX 5070 Ti GPU make it a powerhouse capabale of handling almost any task/game that you throw it. Here are some more details observations: The aluminium body looks nice/premium and is very sturdy. There are grippy rubber feet at the bottom and the hinges are smooth. There are number of ports on both sides (Two USB-C, two USB-A, one HDMI, one microSD Card Reader, one properitery charging and microphone). The keyboard and touchpad are pretty good. The keys are large and have sufficient space between them to make typing fast and accurate. The keys are RGB backlit which looks nice. The touchpad is large and made of glass. It also works as expected. The image quality is beautiful, colors are sharp and blacks are deep and dark. The 240Hz refresh rate and super fast response time make any game look awesome. It has WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The audio quality is quite good (there are two main speakers). There is a camera with FHD resolution and microphones. The camera supports Windows Hello. The battery life is not that great. I get around 4-6 hours of use when doing the regular tasks (e.g. browsing, coding, watching movies etc.). But the battery drains quickly when playing games in performance mode. I usually get only 1-2 hours in that mode. Overall, a stylish, light and powerful laptop if you can afford it :)

Very powerful portable gaming laptop. If you are looking to use it strictly for gaming I would go with the 16in version as 14 is a bit small however if you are a student and use it for school as well this is your go to. Out of the box it runs very hot and very loud. I recommend getting ghelper and setting gpu and cpu temperature limits as well as turning off cpu boost and when using it in public id set the cpu power limit down also. Gaming wise very powerful especially when you dont have power limits on. I get about 60-70 fps in arc raiders but it could go higher, only downside is that it gets very got and the fans get very loud. Cpu can get to high 90s without limits. I can usually get through a regular school day off the battery alone but I bring a charger just in case.

I'm a big fan of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 line. I've had a couple of the previous years versions along with a few other gaming laptops. Without question this is the best of the line. The build of the laptop is beautiful. Solid feeling with the aluminum casing. No creaking or flexing. Unlike many modern laptops, this has plenty of port connections. Included in this is the 40gbs USB-C 4 port. The keyboard feels amazing and not overly crampt considering the small size. The trackpad is large and smooth. You get 32GB RAM. This is good because you can not upgrade the RAM. Not a fan of not being able to upgrade, but I think it is all part of keeping the laptop thin. On the plus side, the RAM is very fast DDR5 and I doubt you would ever feel like it's not enough. As for storage, 1TB of fast SSD is included. This can be upgraded if you like, but there is no second slot for extra storage. I am very impressed with the sound quality. The speakers are loud with amazing sound. Honestly, probably the best sounding laptop speakers I have ever heard. The 3K 120hz screen is a thing of beauty. 500 nits of brightness and incredible color. The fact that it is an OLED display promises incredible clarity, deep blacks and great contrast. You would be hard pressed to find a better laptop screen. Now, the most important thing is how does it perform? Awesome! The new GeForce RTX 5070ti with 12GB of VRAM is a perfect fit. It balances high performance with the small size of the laptop to give a great gaming experience. I think if it were to have had a 5080 or even a 5090 those graphics cards would have created a bottleneck and created way to much heat. As it is, it can get hot during intense gaming but no worse than any other gaming laptop. The heat will get the fans moving but again, to be expected and I haven't found the noise that bad under load. During non-gaming use I don't even hear the fans kicking in. The 5070ti allows for max settings on most games without issue. I haven't experienced any lag or hickups with any games. I also use this for photo editing and I have been greatly impressed with how well it runs photo editing software than can normally be a bit laggy at times. Battery life is the same as any other gaming laptop. That is to say keep your charger handy if you plan to game for more than an hour. As for web browsing, video watching and such, 6-7 hours can be expected. So as far as battery performance goes this is in-line with virtually all other laptops in this class. I still look forward to the day when battery performance makes a big leap in laptops, but that day isn't here yet. However, the fact that you can charge it thru the USB-C as well as the dedicated charging port can really come in handy. Should you buy it? If you are looking for a thin, lightweight 14" machine that can do everything with ease AND has top notch graphics, a beautiful OLED screen and amazing sound, then yes, grab one today. This is easily one of (if not THE best) gaming laptops you can buy.
