CPU runs at about 75c and GPU runs at about 85c, which isn't unreasonable for a laptop. Unfortunately, the chassis gets so hot that I burned my fingers on the volume buttons (not seriously but that should literally never happen), and it's overall uncomfortable to have your hands on the keyboard for long periods of time. Don't buy this model if you actually intend to use it for gaming. I really don't understand how it's rating is so high. People must be buying it and not actually gaming with it. I'm beyond disappointed at having to return this laptop.

I had the machine connected to AC/PD to a Dell WD19 dock for a total of three days. On the third day, it wouldn't wake from sleep docked and began to warm quickly, and then produced acrid smoke from the left rear vent near the charger and died entirely. I returned it for another unit, but after doing more research, I'm convinced this will happen again and again with this model. I will be returning for a refund and moving on from ASUS to a brand that can manage USB-C/Thunderbolt properly without setting things on fire.
