Just purchased the ASUS ROG Zephyrus. I decided to purchase this based on reviews. I'm a bit concerned about some of the heat issues I read in other reviews, but decided to give it a try. I'll update the review if I experience this issue.

This is a great overall laptop, good for coding, writing documents, and even gaming. The only downside is that there is no webcam, this wouldn't regularly be a problem, but the covid-19 pandemic made social distancing classes a bit harsh with this computer. I recomend just buying a cheap webcam, or using your phone as one. The fingerprint sensor might not work as well for the first few weeks, but after that period of time it should work flawlessly. Great product overal!!

New Advantage = Asus Gaming w/ ROG Zephyrus

New Advantage = Asus Gaming w/ ROG Zephyrus This laptop is the equivalent of the "business up front/party in the back" dream in a mobile gaming rig. A total sleeper in the sense that at first glance, you would never guess it is capable of cranking out UFO rated benchmarks in the DESKTOP category on UserBenchmark (see photos). So much to say regarding my first week with this beast, but I will try my best to be as concise as possible on what would matter most to me as a person in the market for a portable powerhouse to game with. The hardware. CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS Plenty of processing power here – obviously to support god-like gaming, but also for video rendering, decoding, VR, & running multiple Virtual Machines. Better than an i9-9980HK in my opinion, mainly because brilliant performance of the RX Vega graphics for desktop/browsing/Netflix, etc Graphics card(s): Yes, there are two. The integrated RX Vega 8 graphics on the CPU absolutely excels at what I have already mentioned. Clear, crisp text for web browsing & also swift transitioning between displays if connected to an external monitor. If you do some further research, you’ll find that it is extremely capable for entry level gaming in itself. But that’s not enough for us serious gamers. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 w/ Max-Q Design (Q for quiet) is ready to handle every PC title out there in 1080p. To date, I’ve only run Modern Warfare (Warzone & Multiplayer) & Doom Eternal and could not be more pleased. It feels like you are gaming on a desktop. Screen/Display: I have always been a fan of ASUS gaming monitors, and now we have one built into a laptop. It’s remarkable! I’ve shown it to my brother who is a graphic artist and he could not believe the accuracy. No dead pixels out of the box either, which makes it 5 for 5 in gaming/office displays where I found no dead pixels – period. 120hz is perfect for high quality graphics for gameplay – I’m not sure of the response rate – but it felt INSTANT. Brightness is dialed in just right, and the matte screen is clutch for absolutely zero reflection. I would not have minded if this were also touchscreen, but how many true gaming monitors are? Memory/RAM & Storage: This is definitely the fastest laptop I’ve used, nevertheless owned. From near-instant boots, quick launching of applications, and plenty of space in a 1TB Intel 660p NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. 2 x 8GB Micron DDR4 @ 3200MHZ for 16 GB of RAM is the standard now for gaming rigs, and truly is lightning fast. Check the attached image of results from UserBenchmark and you’ll understand why the laptop is a UFO. What else? Speakers/Sound: Hi Dolby Atmos sound. Holy mackerel. There are 4 speakers on this puppy and it cranks out some amazing volume, but this Dolby Atmos makes actual sounds that you hear inside your skull!!! Its amazing. However, when you do get to most games where voice comms are critical, a headphone port is available - as well as Bluetooth. No webcam built in to this laptop, which I would not have minded. Battery life – outstanding. However, I’d suggest when gaming, you’ll may want to stay plugged in when possible. It did last a really long time when just carrying to and from the office this past week and using on lunch for anything other than gaming. I don’t particularly care for the positioning of the DC port on the left side and would prefer the DC charging via USB-C or the magnetic clips used on Surfaces. Perhaps that is not an option on a higher power 180 Watt 20v power brick. Probably the reason. Keyboard A nice layout, decent chicklet style keys w/ a fatty spacebar & a hotkey to launch “Armoury Crate” (app to manage profile based on your what you are using the device for). Oh yeah, the power button is a fingerprint scanner! I’m a fan of backlit keyboards, but wish the white backlight could change colors, just so there was better contrast to these silver keys. Also, the lighting does seem somewhat inconsistently distributed to light the keys – but not a major issue for me. WI-FI/Network Outstanding range and speeds – screenshot of 287 Mbps down/184 Mbps upload in gallery. Circling back to my comment about “business up front/party in the back” – aesthetically the ROG Zephyrus appears like a “nice, clean, lightweight, portable device” – but under the hood, it is ready to dance ladies and gents. This thing is awesome. Well done ASUS!

*AMD Ryzen 9 is a game changer, for the price, this thing zippity doodas anything you throw at it, and really is the number one pro of this machine. Intel might be in trouble. *Geforce 2060mq runs the games I throw at it on ultra-high 80+ fps no problem. FO76, COD,RDR2 *The battery life is a godsend, I am pushing 9+ hours light browsing, office work and movies at full charge, and there is an option to limit max charging to 60% or 80% to reduce damage to battery if you leave it plugged in to game most of the time(which I do), which will increase battery's life. *The 120hz FHD screen is actually quite bright and looks crisp and clear for gaming and movies. The price to performance ratio is really good. I know for sure this laptop will last me for more than 4 years.

Works great for my music production! I was debating between a MacBook Pro or a gaming computer. I had originally wanted to go with an MSI just because it had so much going on but when I had gotten to the store there weren’t any available I needed the product quickly so I made a quick judgment call because I have another Asus laptop that is not very powerful but does a lot for the amount of power it has. I could not be happier with my purchase. It looks sleek and very cool it feels substantial in your hands, I’ve never owned a computer that was so fast whether it’s downloading something Or rendering audio files it’s got a lot going on. There are always things that can be improved on with any product but this one has made me very happy so far

A total game changer!! This laptop is very impressive overall! I purchased this due to my MacBook air not able to support streaming with stream labs and boy was I shocked at this great value. From the graphics card to the 120hz screen and the processor. I am a youtube/twitch content creator and my new Zephyrus G-14 This laptop brings it to the competition. This laptop impressed me the moment I opened the sexy box it came in...lol True gamers can and will appreciate this laptop. twitch.tv/TheOfficialKillgaming

Replaced my Razer Blade 15 Base Edition (2018) with this beauty and I have not been disappointed. I made the switch from Intel to AMD for my desktop a while back and decided to do the same for my laptop. Overall, this laptop has great value for what you get from it. The 120hz refresh rate is a nice touch at this price point as well. The fingerprint scanner misses more times than not, but that isn't a deal breaker for me.

Excellent value in a compact machine. The Ryzen 9 handles everything I can throw at it and the integrated graphics can play AAA titles at 720p on battery power or plugged in (for less heat). Trackpad is glass, 120Hz IPS panel looks great for movies even at night, and battery power is around 8 hrs with some tweaking and 50% brightness; around 5.5 hrs with 100% brightness. I'm loving this machine.

I really wanted to give 5 stars for this machine. It deserve. I had it for six days and I've always faced blue screen of death, It crashed (bsod) while working on blender. It might be software problems. I did BIOS update to 217, nvidia drivers and, amd redon adrenaline 2020, even disable cpu virtualization. Nothing happened. One more thing; When I plugged out the charger the screen seems to look fuzzy I put all brightness up but doesn't help. I had a macbook pro 2019 and it beats it. I really love it but, I have to return. :(
