A wonderful thin gaming laptop

Goods:
GPU scored 10600+ in time spy with the original single channel ddr4. Hopefully, it would be a little bit better if ram is added to dual channels. That is good enough for an almost thin gaming laptop, considering a fully powered laptop 4060 scores 10900.
It supports MUX switch that allows GPU to directly connect the screen, which betters performance a little bit for gaming and saves power for portable usage.
The speakers impressed me since they sound as good as MacBook pro and support Dolby atmos.
The screen has wonderful colors and brightness, and its brightness can even exceed my Philips 4k 32' monitor. And it fully occupies face B.
It supports face recognition for windows hello.
ROG management software is good.
Bads:
This i7-13620h is only slightly better than / almost the same to i5-13500h, with 2 more P-cores and 4 less E-cores. It is good enough as a 16-thread processor, just don't let the name fool you.
The upper face looks beautiful with a colorful mirror below porous plastic, at the cost of thickness. I would rather prefer a thinner screen design.
The vents directly put heat onto the screen, which I doubt might be harmful to the screen after a long time of heavy usage.
Conclusion:
If you want both gaming performance and a Macbook-like appearance, screen, and speaker, Zephyrus is worth the extra cost compared to other 4060 gaming laptops.

The Zephyrus G16 is a great laptop. It has been able to run every single game I have thrown at with ease. I was initially concerned when buying it, because some of the fans blow right into the screen, but I have seen no complications with it so far, and I have not seen anyone else report any issues with it. The graphics are great, the speaker is great, and the speeds are great. I only have two complaints, which are that this laptop runs hot, and it is loud. I feel like I have to choose between a laptop that throttles or one that sounds like an industrial fan. If you get this laptop, I would recommend either getting a cooling mat or some ear protection for you and the family.

I recently purchased the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. Here’s an in-depth look at my experience with this fantastic gaming laptop:
Performance:
The Intel 13th Gen Core i7 processor, paired with 16GB of memory, delivers exceptional performance. It effortlessly handles demanding tasks, including AAA gaming, video editing, and multitasking.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU provides stunning graphics and smooth gameplay. I've enjoyed playing the latest games at high settings without any noticeable lag or frame drops.

A Great System... with Some Catches

A very good laptop. I haven't had many performance issues so far in my few months of having it. Games run well, browsing is really quick, and the system stays relatively cool. The display is also great with a lot of settings to adjust color levels and a very high refresh rate on the monitor. I just have 4 main issues.
I will say there are a couple quirks to this though. The performance isn't as consistent when the laptop is unplugged for one. Not enough to be unusable but enough to notice.
If I'm making a large download though by performance drops hard and things start to lag, specifically from Steam. It rebounds right after downloads but it's really annoying when it does happen.
And finally, I don't know why, but sometimes my keyboard isn't recognized by the computer until I change the mode it's in by unplugging and plugging the charger back in. A similar thing happens randomly with the RGB lights turning off and me having to go into the Asus system settings to adjust the levels to reset it. It's easily fixed but it's still annoying.
The battery life is also really low. Even if I'm just browsing online or writing documents for work I can only get about an hour 40 on a single charge. I don't know if it's my settings or if Word is just that intensive, but I have settled with just keeping it plugged in and calibrating the battery to keep the cells working.
End of the day it's a reliable system that helps me with work and gaming alike. It just has a couple wrinkles that need ironing out, and maybe a backup battery pack for long trips.

Still Running Strong After 2 Years!

I bought the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (16", 165Hz, i7, RTX 4060, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) from Best Buy two years ago, and it’s still performing like a champ. From day one, it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it—gaming, video editing, and multitasking—with ease.
The 165Hz display is smooth and vibrant, making both gameplay and everyday use a pleasure. The RTX 4060 delivers excellent graphics performance without overheating, and the laptop stays surprisingly quiet even during intense sessions. Build quality is solid, and the Eclipse Gray finish still looks sleek and modern.
After two years of daily use, I haven’t had a single issue. No crashes, no slowing down—just reliable performance. For the price and specs, this machine has been a fantastic investment. Highly recommend it to gamers, creators, or anyone who needs a powerful, portable machine!

I was originally going to get an Asus Tuf laptop but I couldnt find the specific one I wanted to ship to me. I was walking among the gaming laptops in Best Buy when I stumbled upon this model, it was like love at first sight. I thought about it for a minute and then I decided to purchase it online since they didnt have it in stock in the store. The fact that it was out of stock gave me high hopes, I was right. It shipped to me in 3 days and the unboxing experience was pleasant, it was like christmas all over again. I booted the laptop up with no issues, I got startled the first time due to the ROG start up sound but eventually I got used to it and its a neat little feature. One of the first games I played was Rust and it ran smoothly, so did Fortnite and Vr Chat. I like the options for performance in armory crate as well. Another thing that I like about the Zephyrus is that its thin and sleek, so carrying it around is less of a hassle than some other models. My only 2 complaints are that the laptop has a noticable performance drop when youre not plugged in, so I reccomend staying near an outlet when youre using this. If you dont have an outlet next to a place to put the laptop then buy an extension cord. As well as the poor battery life, it is below average for a gaming laptop but I dont move around to often and always have outlets in my house so it is not a personal issue. Overall I highly reccomend this laptop because of its value and portability.

Three things you should know.
1. The design is sleek and the performance is powerful.
2. Because of how sleek and powerful it is, when performing demanding tasks, heat will dissipate to the top, making some areas of the keyboard hot. This is normal. The CPU and GPU temps do not get too hot.
3. The Best Buy edition of this laptop does not have the mini-LED lights in the reverse side of the screen. If you want the version that has those lights, don't buy this one, go to the ASUS website instead.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this laptop. Great buy. I picked it up on sale.

As a student who’s also passionate about gaming, finding the perfect laptop that can handle both my academic workload and my gaming needs was a challenge—until I found the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16. From the moment I powered it on, I knew I had made the right choice.
For School: The 13th Gen Intel Core i7 and 16GB memory have been a game-changer for my school projects. I remember working on a massive video editing assignment that would’ve taken ages to render on my old laptop. But with the G16, it was ready in no time, and my professor was impressed with the professional quality. The 512GB SSD means I never have to worry about space for all my assignments and research.
For Gaming: When it’s time to unwind with some gaming, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card delivers an experience that’s nothing short of breathtaking. I still recall the first time I played my favorite RPG on this machine; the 165Hz FHD display made the fantasy world come alive with vibrant colors and fluid motion that I had never seen before.
Battery Life: The battery life is another standout feature. I’ve spent countless hours at the library, working and gaming without searching for an outlet. It’s the reliability I need when I’m on the go from class to class.
Overall: The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 isn’t just a laptop; it’s a reliable companion that has seen me through late-night study sessions and epic gaming marathons. The sleek Eclipse Gray design is just the cherry on top—it looks as good as it performs. Whether you’re a student, a gamer, or both, the G16 is the powerhouse laptop you’re looking for.
Recommendation: Absolutely If you’re on the fence about which laptop to get, take it from me—a fellow student and gamer—the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 will not disappoint. It’s an investment that pays off every time you boot up.

From a reliable and well-known brand, caught my attention with its vibrant and clear screen, fast performance, and an attractive discount and lower price than a few months ago. However, there is noticeable fan noise during intense tasks. Also, I should have preferred a higher hard disk capacity because games take up a lot of space when downloaded to the computer. Overall, a solid choice for those seeking a budget-friendly option.

Pretty great laptop I’d say. The setup takes a while downloading all the correct drivers and software, and being familiar with BIOS settings helps a bunch. But really powerful machine. I’ve been using it for data and gaming and it hasn’t hit a hitch it can vault over yet. I will say it’s a bit on the loud side though, under heavy load it sounds like a get taking off which does cause the speakers to be drowned out. Also you can’t really use it in clamshell mode because it will cause overheating, and definitely don’t smoke around it - it will suck in the smoke like an air filter lol.

(using ghelper, not armoury crate right now)
If you don’t get a lemon the build quality is quite good. Very little flex to keyboard and display.
With dgpu disabled and on silent fan mode the cpu gets to around 50c when doing light tasks, which is cool enough for me. Fans are always off during this time.
A little coil whine only when dgpu is enabled, but only noticeable in dead silence. Not an issue when gaming, just make sure dgpu is disabled otherwise. Other units may not have this issue.
With dgpu at full load and standard fan curve, my temps only reach around 70C, meaning you will likely never need to use turbo fan profile. I’ve tested some loud, hot laptops and this one has excellent thermals. Fan noise under full load is very bearable.
Has mux switch, 16gb ram soldered and one upgradable slot, 2 nvme ssd slots. Unless you have any unusual considerations this is more than satisfactory for most users.
I’m not picky about display specs, happy with 1080p 16x10.
I/O ports, display lights are normal enough. No problems with vent blowing hot air close to display, rather have this over blowing air at your hands off the side.
Overall the most annoying thing about this laptop is having to disable dgpu manually when switching to silent mode, which is not a big deal. Armoury crate’s silent mode might disable dgpu automatically, but fan curves are a lot less flexible. If ghelper implemented disabling gpu when switching to silent, I would have no complaints about this laptop. As it stands, if you are ok with opening ghelper and switching manually (which is like 4 button presses) instead of using the fan button on the keyboard, this laptop is a solid choice.

Amazing laptops. Games look great and it’s light. If I had any complaint it would be that it can get pretty hot and that the battery life could be better. But those are all pretty standard problems for gaming laptops. Luckily, Asus is great about multiple performance profiles so the battery and heat become much less of an issue whenever I am using it for non-gaming tasks.

i was new to the gaming world and i asked a few friends about this one and they highly recommended it. Very impressed with how nice it runs. the fan is a bit loud when i am playing some games, but it does not make games lag or go slower. I will say the battery life is a bit iffy but thats not a deal breaker for me.

When I first got it, I was super happy with it. The design of it is amazing and the keyboard layout and the LED’s. Although the lights do not turn on unless you have the adapter plugged in. Besides that, it runs very good and the sound quality is amazing. It also has a camera which is great. Not the best quality, but still good for a cheaper laptop. It’s very comfortable to use and has a huge screen. The outline is thin to make the screen bigger. Although the fan is super loud, you have the choice to silent is or let it preform. In conclusion, I only recommend this if you seriously can’t spend another penny for a more expensive gaming laptop. Asus is pretty decent on my opinion and runs good.

Great laptop. Very quick and runs everything perfectly. However, that is only if you spend another $50 and get a second stick of 16 GB of DDR4 ram and put it in to get the memory running in dual channel mode. Once you do that this laptop is perfect.

Clear and very bright screen that lets you easily use outside. The battery life can last a serious long time if you turn off GPU. Handles AAA games with ease. Very easy to upgrade ssd and ram. Minor inconvenience that the space bar sounds a bit weird from time to time. And can be annoying to charge laptop only from left side. The webcam is okay but sometimes for log in the camera take a while even in good lighting. Overall good laptop with strong specs but the basics such as typing and charging arrangement made it so I reflected on my situation as a student commuting. Because I’m not always in the same location, the charging soon became I needed to take into account. Other than that the laptop is seriously powerful and fun to use once set up.

Bought it almost a month back. No complaints so far! The battery life is amazing, and gaming performance is a dream. Most users including me would probably never need to use the MUX switch, haha! It's also quite light and compact considering the beefy specs. It does get really hot and starts throttling slightly after a couple hours of sustained gaming though.
I got it for 999$ during a sale, and I think this is the best laptop at that price.
