This laptop was wonderul for me and worked better than what I couldve even initially hoped. After a couple days though the computer would begin freezing randomly with the only error being reported being hardware related so no matter what I did to resolve the situation, the only option was to return it after the issue evolved to just constant BSODs. If stability could be promised, I would consider this the perfect laptop in every regard
We're so sorry to hear you experienced those stability issues and BSODs with your new laptop, especially since you were otherwise so impressed with its performance. Please elaborate on the symptoms your system is currently exhibiting and the troubleshooting steps you've gone over. What were the error codes provided when the crash occurred? If you're open to it, we'd be happy to help you troubleshoot the issue further or explore options for a replacement. You can reach me at [email protected]. Only really play rocket league and for some reason this laptop has insane flahsing white bars across my screen when trying to play it. Second model that does this so it has to be hardware config or 50 series drivers. I dont know. Going to use my two month return window to see if i can fix it or if it fixes itself.

Picked this up because I needed a thin, portable laptop that could handle both gaming and creative work at my desk. I’ve got to say, the overall visual quality on this thing is stunning. Out of the box, the build felt really premium. metal chassis, super slim, and lightweight for a laptop in this class.
The build quality is strong with its sturdy metal chassis. It’s really thin and surprisingly light for something that’s packing serious hardware inside.
One thing that didn’t do much for me is the slash lighting array. It looks cool in pictures but it’s pretty useless in practice. Also, there’s an Nvidia Studio sticker right on the keyboard deck, which hinted that this laptop might be geared more toward creative folks than hardcore gamers.
The display is beautiful easily one of the best parts of this laptop. Colors pop, sharpness is excellent, and it makes working on creative tasks or gaming super enjoyable. Watching videos or doing any kind of visual editing is a real treat on this screen.
This machine came loaded with the Nvidia RTX Studio drivers and has the sticker to match. So it’s clearly intended for video editors and digital artists. That said, the 5070 Ti with 12GB VRAM is more than capable of gaming too. I tested it out with The Alters, FIFA 25, NFL 25, Wreckfest, and Civ VII, and got decent frame rates with no noticeable stutter. I also changed out the studio drivers in favor of the game ready drivers.
I did have to tinker with the Armory Crate app to squeeze more juice out of the GPU. Running it in Turbo mode made the fans pretty loud but improved performance and dropped temps significantly. Honestly, Turbo mode is pretty much required if you’re gaming for real.
My biggest complaint is the heat. Under heavy load, the cooling system struggles to keep up. Elevating the laptop about 5cm off the table really helped with airflow and knocked temps down by 5–10°C on average. If you plan on gaming a lot, just be ready for fan noise and some extra heat management.
The chiclet keyboard is a weak point for me. The keys feel cramped and close together, so longer sessions can cause hand fatigue. On the flip side, the audio is surprisingly good. It gets loud enough to fill a room and sounds clear at full volume, which is not something I can say for every laptop I’ve owned.
I didn’t even bother trying to game on battery, that’s just not realistic for this type of machine. For regular tasks, it’ll get you by, but keep it plugged in for gaming. Ports are fine for what I do, nothing missing for me, though some folks might want to double-check what they need.
Overall, I really like this laptop. It’s not a hardcore gaming beast, but for creative pros who want to game on the side, it’s a solid choice. If you don’t mind the extra heat and fan noise under load, it’s hard to beat for the size and power. I’d recommend it to someone who wants a lightweight creative laptop that can still hold its own for casual gaming.
If you pick this up, definitely plan on propping it up for better airflow and be ready to tweak Armory Crate for best performance. It makes a big difference. Another option might be to purchase a laptop cooler or platform that raises it up a bit.

The gaming laptop that I was using before this was the 2022 model of the exact same laptop. I will say it's been one of the best gaming laptops I have ever had and this new model only improves on that one. In my personal opinion, ASUS ROG gaming laptops are the best on the market and offer a great gaming experience right out of the box. Although there is a hefty price tag, this laptop is a high-end gaming laptop that is capable at competing with gaming desktops in a machine that can be put in your backpack.
Design:
This laptop has an extremely premium design. The entire thing is made from high-grade aluminum chassis that allows it to have a premium feel while being lightweight and extremely thin. I was surprised by how this laptop is considering it is packed with the best components.
The screen has a 2.5K resolution with 240ghz refresh rate. This screen looks amazing; text and graphics have vivid colors and the high refresh rates means that there is very little lag. It has a 16 inch screen with very thin bezzles. This allows you to have a larger screen which is perfect for mobile gaming while still having an overall thin and light laptop.
The keyboard is a good size, and the keys have decent feedback. This is great for productivity if you need to type something. The trackpad is large, and it works well, although I am not a huge fan of clicking. It allows you to click anywhere on the trackpad, but the click feels awkward if it is not near the bottom corner. It is not the end of the world and most people using this will connect with an external mouse anyway.
Intel does a great job with its latest processors which include both efficiency cores and power cores. This allows the processor to run on less cores when doing less graphic intensive tasks. If you are using this for web surfing, email, and other day-to-day tasks you can use the battery for many hours. When gaming or editing video/pictures I would recommend keeping it plugged in because it will eat up the battery a lot faster.
The speakers are great for watching movies, listening to music and other tasks. Although I spend most of my time with a headset connected. The webcam is average. It is good enough quality for video conferencing but if you are a streamer I would recommend connecting an external webcam.
This laptop has great RGB lighting. The keyboard has multiple colors that you can adjust to your liking. There is also a new light on the lid of the computer that makes this laptop feel like a gaming PC. I love being able to customer RGB lighting on a laptop.
Ports:
I found it interesting that ASUS is still using a proprietary port for its charger instead of USB-C. My guess is they do not want people using a charger that is not powerful enough. It has 2 USB-A ports and 2 USB-C ports, one of each on either side. I love that ASUS did this because you have both USB types on either side. It also has an HDMI, headphone jack, and SD card reader. It is nice that all of these ports are included on a laptop that is thin. The SD card reader is a full-size card reader which is an awesome upgrade over the 2022 model I am currently using.
Performance:
Most people who are buying a high-end gaming laptop are going to care most about the components and specs. This laptop includes the latest Intel ultra 9 CPU and it is a beast. This CPU is a 16 core CPU and can handle anything you attempt to do with it. 10 of the 6 cores are efficiency cores and can-do everyday tasks. The extra 6 cores are performance cores which will kick in when you need all the power.
Performance is what most people care about when it comes to a gaming laptop. The design and other aspects can help enhance your experience, but performance is ultimately what you are paying for.
This computer comes with 32 GBs of ram which should have plenty of memory for even the most intensive tasks. The SSD is 1TB which runs at extremely high transfer rates. This is a decent amount of space for holding a few large games and as many smaller games as you would like. Of course, it has the latest 5070 TI dedicated graphics card which is very fast allowing over 120 FPS in first person shooter games.
Upgradability:
As laptops become more advanced and smaller, manufacturers have made them less upgradable. The first thing I do when I get a new PC is pull off the bottom cover and see if there is any chance of upgrading it.
This laptop is not really meant for upgrading. I couldn’t even get the entire bottom plate off because it seemed to be held on by some adhesive. Everything on the mother board is covered and crowded. I cannot say I am surprised considering everything that is packed into such a small frame.
The only thing I would probably want to upgrade on this might be a larger or second SSD (I was not able to confirm if there is an extra SSD slot on the board). Other than that, this laptop ships with high end specs and there is not really anything I would want to upgrade anyway.
Conclusion:
I believe this is possibly the best gaming laptop currently on the market. If you are looking for a mobile PC that can play all the latest games on the highest settings, look no further. This is also great for productivity if you are a content creator or student.

The ROG Zephyrus G16 is ASUS's answer to creating a Windows version of the 16" Macbook Pro - a large, premium laptop with top notch fit and finish, the power to do anything you could reasonably ask and the battery to go all day. And they mostly succeeded, creating a great laptop that really can do it all. It's not perfect, but it's a well rounded performer and I highly recommend it.
The first thing you notice about the laptop is the size - both of the laptop overall and the screen. The laptop isn't small - no 16" screen laptop can be - but it's about as small as a laptop with such a screen can be - thin and well designed. The all metal body is sturdy and durable without feeling overly heavy (though it's not a lightweight ultrabook at well over 3lbs - and the power brick - a 240W unit - is weighty as well). I'll likely keep the light "slash" on the cover off, but it's an interesting effect if you want to use it. Once you open the laptop, the screen is GORGEOUS - the OLED produces deep blacks and tremendous color, range and brightness. It's a high refresh / 240Hz panel as well, though I mostly keep it down to 60Hz due to battery life at that refresh rate. The matal lower deck has a great keyboard that is comfortable to type on (single zone RGB on that) and spacious with a HUGE trackpad (maybe almost too big) that is responsive and supports gestures. there are plenty of ports, including Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C 3.2 that both support 100W PD and display over USB-C (the 100W PD wouldb't be my go to for power as the laptop can use uo to 240W under heavy load, BUT it's not to have in a pinch). You also get HDMI, USB-A and a full-sized SD card reader.
Performance from the Intel Core Ultra 9 285H is top notch and even the integrated graphics aren't bad - though of course here you can always use the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti (I've used it for games and AI / running local LLMs and it runs both well, particulary with the 12GB of video memory on the card). The 5070Ti does significantly shorten battery life though (in general browsing and office work using the "Silent" power mode, I can get 8-9 hours of battery vs in the "Performance" mode that uses the dGPU, I'd get maybe ~3 hours) so use it when you have to, not all the time. 32GB of non-user replaceable RAM and a 1TB 2280 NVMe SSD is installed here - you can upgrade the existing SSD for more space and there's a spot for a second SSD if you want.
The day to day usage experiece is wonderful - the big screen makes it easy to work from anywhere/on the go, and while it's a bit weighty, have a single all in one package is a great benefit It can do office work all, day, game when you want it and anything else you can think of. So if this sounds good to you, give it a try today!

This is my dream laptop. I wanted to love it so much but i just don’t understand why it’s so bad. Every single gsme i played it on crsshed. CPU temps rose up to 105C and while Intel says it can withstand up to 110C, it just crashed and restarted in every game. Horizon zero dawn? Crashed. Monster hunter wilds? Crashed. Prey, PUBG, Castlevania? All crashed and restarted my laptop. I wss using HWMonitor to check and every game spiked the temps to 105-110 and crashed. I tried undervolting and nothing worked.I’m hoping maybe I just got a defective unit and another one will work better. Why there’s no AMD version like the 2024 G16 4070 version is beyond me. Avoid it for now is my opinion.
We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing performance or stability issues, and overheating with this laptop. To resolve these issues, please update Windows, drivers, BIOS, games and applications if outdated. Updates for this laptop are posted at: https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-zephyrus/rog-zephyrus-g16-2025-gu605/helpdesk_download/. You may need to reconfigure your system, video, and performance mode setting inside the newer Armoury Crate utility software version posted at: https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/ , ensure your settings doesn't go beyond the game's threshold. Regarding your concern about thermal issues. It is normal for laptops, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially while gaming. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions to have efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. Additionally, while gaming, please ensure no resource-hungry applications are running in the background, this will spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decrease or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. Furthermore, if you are accessing Cloud games, please ensure this laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet service will definitely affect system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.

ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G16 16" OLED 2.5K 240Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 9 - 32GB RAM - NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti - 1TB SSD - Eclipse Gray
This laptop is absolutely amazing! Phenomenal powerful. Beautifully designed. Incredible laptop engineered to last, plus surprisingly thin, light, and portable.
Design and Build
ASUS has again produced another gorgeous product in this ROG Zephyrus G16 laptop. This machine brings every bit of the new age cutting edge technology in an amazingly portable frame. Its refined and professional aesthetic look has a sleek and sturdy aluminum chassis. The entire laptop feels premium and durable, well-suited for professionals who need a strong and reliable device for demanding tasks, but even better suited for the mobile gaming enthusiast! It’s incredibly portable with compact size and lightweight built despite the large.
Display
This 16-inch 2.5K (2560 x 1600) OLED display is absolutely stunning, definitely sets this laptop apart and it’s one of the major highlights of this machine. OLED provides stunning visuals with unparalleled sharpness and detail, and virtually blur free. The display has impressive color accuracy, which is crucial for content creators, photographers, and video editors. This model is not a touchscreen though so if that’s something you’re looking for then note that this model lacks that feature.
Performance
Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 2, 285H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti GPU, this version of the Zephyrus G16 is basically unstoppable. The 5070Ti has a whopping 16GB of GDDR7 memory which is absurd in a laptop GPU, it’s more video memory than most laptops have as system memory. Plus, it has a hefty helping of 32GB LPDDR5X, 7467 megahertz RAM. This machine delivers out of this world performance and obliterates anything I can throw at it. Incredible processing and image rendering power here. The 32GB of RAM ensures smooth multitasking no matter how many programs are running, or windows are open. Also rocking the incredibly fast, quick response time, and large 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD to provide ample storage and lightning-fast access/load times.
Connectivity
This Zephyrus G16 offers every connection you could ask for with a variety of ports, including USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and an SD card reader, accommodating all the various needs of creative professionals. Thunderbolt 4 seems to be becoming the new standard and the inclusion of this support on this Zephyrus laptop allows for high-speed data transfer and connection to multiple external devices, enhancing productivity at high-speed.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard definitely seems designed for functionality and comfort, featuring good key travel and feedback, making it great for long gaming, work, or any extended sessions. The touchpad is large and supports multi-touch gestures, contributing to a seamless user experience.
Battery Life
This laptop’s battery life is quite impressive considering the processing power of this machine. I’ve been getting around 5 hours with moderate use. Of course, heavy gaming or intensive processing tasks like video editing or 3D rendering can really reduce the battery life, necessitating plugin or simply frequent charging during heavy workloads. But honestly the battery life has impressed me and been much better than I expected overall.
Software
Running on Windows 11 home gets the job done quickly and efficiently. The Armoury Crate, and MyASUS software allow for simple customization and control from easy intuitive interfaces.
Pros
• Absolutely beautiful and stunning 4K touch display with excellent color accuracy
• Incredible Powerful performance for a laptop with Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 2, 285H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti dedicated video card.
• Solid and durable build quality
• Comprehensive connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4
• Intuitive and well-developed software for customization and control
Cons
• High ended price point, but you get what you pay for

I literally touched the screen to grab it to prevent it from falling and the screen went black. I brought it back to Best Buy to get it fixed and not even 5 seconds the lady was like “no not fixable” so I tried to get a new laptop. Since it was open box they were trying to replace it with an open box which I don’t mind. But THEN they tried to make me pay $100 more because the “condition” was a tad better. I legit said no. Took my refund and walked out. Most unprofessional customer service I’ve ever encountered and I’ll never buy a laptop ever again at Best Buy.

Alright, let’s get specs out of the way first. The Zephyrus G16 lineup comes in multiple configurations depending on your performance needs and budget. I went all-in on the one with an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, paired with the Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD storage. It’s a beast and I’m about to walk you through why this might be one of the slickest portable gaming setups in its class.
But let’s be real, I’m gonna hit you with the cons first, just so we’re not sugarcoating it.
What You Should Know (a.k.a. The Nitpicks):
Price: It's high. But if you're looking at this machine, you’ve probably already swallowed that pill. You're not paying for entry-level gaming, you're paying for a desktop tier experience in a laptop form factor, and this delivers.
Soldered RAM: What you buy is what you're stuck with. No upgradeable here, so make sure you grab the amount of ram you want or need based on your usage for gaming or creating.
Battery Life: It's not winning any endurance awards, but if you're buying this to game or create, you're likely going to be plugged in anyway.
Power Adapter Cable Length: For some reason, ASUS gave this rig a short leash. The brick itself is reasonably sized, but the cord from the adapter to the laptop is shorter than ideal making it kind of annoying on some setups.
Runs Warm: Again, not unexpected. This isn’t a casual web-browsing machine. When it fires up, it’s pulling serious wattage and pushing high-end visuals, so things heat up. Not overly heat intensive but maybe a little uncomfortable for longer hard core gaming sessions.
That’s it. That’s the bad. Now let’s get to the good, because everything else about this laptop is nearly flawless.
This thing is a visual stunner. The aluminum chassis gives it a premium, durable feel. The sleek, clean-cut design and signature slash RGB lighting strip across the lid are just enough to say “I’m serious” without screaming “gamer!” It’s a super lightweight and thin package, especially considering the horsepower inside.
It boasts a full-size feel keyboard with big, comfortable keycaps and satisfying travel. The RGB backlighting is not per-key, but that’s fine by me, I prefer subtle static lighting anyway.
The trackpad is ginormous! Like, ridiculously spacious and ultra responsive. Easily one of the best trackpads on any gaming laptop I’ve used.
You get just the right mix of ports for connectivity, dual USB-C (one Thunderbolt 4), USB-A, HDMI, 3.5mm, and a full-size SD card slot (huge win for content creators). Bonus: USB-C charging up to 100W, a nice touch for traveling light and circumventing the short power adapter cable length.
The screen is probably the star of the show next to and combined with the RTX gpu. The Zephyrus is dressed with the 16” 2.5K OLED Nebula display. OMG! It’s absolutely stunning. 240Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, and true blacks that make colors pop like neon in a dark alley. I’ve played Ghost of Tsushima, some racing in Forza and other arcade racing, and some high graphic ARPG titles. Gaming in titles like this or just editing photos, the immersion is top-tier cinematic. I am truly amazed at the quality and beauty that this OLED display offers. I get lost for hours at time just enjoying the cinematic cutscenes and gaming. No screen tearing. No ghosting. Just buttery smooth, vibrant visuals that feel like a cheat code for your eyes.
The combination of the RTX 5070 Ti and Intel Core Ultra 9 seem to be an ideal match, at least for me. I do not tend to meddle with my cpu by overclocking or under Volting. I just run with the stock performance and Intel does enough for my needs.
This machine handles everything I throw at it, and I’ve thrown a lot from Hogwarts Legacy to Avatar to Path of Exile. I usually game on high to ultra settings and there were no hiccups. Framerates are solid. Temps are reasonable. It punches way above what you'd expect from a device this portable.
And no, I’m not dropping benchmark numbers. I’m telling you straight, it plays like a dream, and that’s all you really need to know if you just want a capable powerful and immersive gaming experience and not trying to win any benchmark racing numbers.
Then there’s the speaker system. ASUS finally hit a huge win here! These speakers slap. Crisp highs, noticeable mids, and legit bass. The soundstage fills a room in a way I’ve never experienced from a laptop. One time my daughter asked if I had the TV on. Nope, just this rig doing its thing. Honestly, it’s good enough to skip headphones, unless you’re trying not to wake the house. These speakers complete the immersive cinematic experience when gaming or streaming.
If you’re looking for a premium gaming and content creation laptop with desktop-level power, a drop-dead gorgeous OLED screen, and killer audio, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 is it. Yeah, there are a few limitations in it’s price, battery life, and soldered RAM, but the overall package is a knockout.
This machine is sleek, powerful, and portable. A true showcase of what next-gen gaming laptops can be. Whether you're gaming, creating, or just multitasking like a boss, the G16 won’t let you down. I absolutely recommend.
