I needed something reliable to finish my cybersecurity degree, and this machine delivered. It’s thin, has a 4070 RTX GPU, DDR5 RAM, upgraded storage, and a beautiful OLED screen. It runs everything I throw at it, fast and smooth. I do wish it had more ports, especially an Ethernet jack, but a USB-C dongle handles it. Overall, very happy with it.

Great Computer but not Amazing

However it requires some tinkering in order for it to be worth while. I would recommend users of this device to get Quick CPU and adjust the Frequency scaling and Turbo boost amounts when in DC mode. I found that the computer stuttered when doing basic task. Put those numbers 20% and 60% respectively, made the microstutters go away. Also, I can't say it's an amazing computer because of ASUS's decision to make the RAM soldered on which means there is no upgrade path from 16 gigs. While I don't think that I would need 32 gigs while working on this device since I have a desktop for heavy duty work, not being able to upgrade this computer in the future is disappointing.

It loads my games really fast and downloading them are pretty good. I do a lot of gaming and this labtop is perfect for me I also would recommend this laptop. The only thing I wish it didn't over heat very fast so I would recommend buying a a fan stand that your computer will test on and it cools it as you play it. I would give this laptop a 9/10.

I loved this device but had to return it as I use over 10 chrome tabs which causes this to run out of ram, bought this and the g14 as I always keep a clone of the 16 inch for work purposes. ended up with the Alienware - m16 R2 QHD+ 240Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 - 1TB SSD - Dark Metallic Moon and its way bigger than this but it has upgradeable ram, the g14 had the same issue, for the 14 inch I got the razer blade 14 and both are amazing.

It does not overheat ever! Other than the razorblade 16, which overheats like crazy and can never run up to its full potential, this right here is the laptop for you!

Cons: The fans runs too loud and too hot to the touch playing Baldur’s Gate 3. The computer felt slow switching between desktops and in and out of games. Overall, my experience did not meet my expectations for I wanted out of mobile gaming.

Pretty good, just not great

The top case near the screen gets scorching hot, almost buring you hot. The display and battery life were all really good, it just can’t handle long gaming sessions, it will start to thermal throttle.

The screen is immaculate probably the best part of the whole laptop but when it comes down to it 16gb of ram was just not good enough for me some AAA titles would take it all.

Web browsing is fast, and I haven't experienced it freezing or any crashes. It's also nice for the price. I would think that more intensive applications might need more RAM to be fast, but I don't use them on this laptop.

The speaker, keyboard feeling, chassis and screen is amazing. However: 1. It was marked excellent but no original box is included, only a blue best buy box, containing just the laptop and charger. 2. This mobile 4070 is enough for some online games like cs2 and league of legends. When it comes to games that require serious performance like nba 2K25 and Wukong black myth, it’s stucking. I don’t know if this can be improved on 4090 mobile GPUs or newer 5080/5090. 3. The fan noise makes me feel like on a jet plane. The fan noise degrades the good sound quality of the speakers I have to plug in a headphone instead. 4. The face recognition camera works randomly, this could be the windows side problem. 5. You can’t have a good game experience with the battery, both staying short and low performance. When gaming I have to plug in the power to have smooth league of legend experience. Browsing the webpage without playing the sound gives 1.5 hour battery life, which is less than I expected. Overall, this product is far less than I expect and I prefer my rog ally x which provides better mobility, similar games that performs well, and better battery life. Have to return this one.

We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are having issues with the laptop. If you are unable to play games smoothly, check if Windows, drivers, BIOS and games are up to date. Updates for this laptop are available at: https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-zephyrus/rog-zephyrus-g16-2024/helpdesk_bios/ . Additionally, while accessing cloud games, please ensure the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will definitely affect system speed and performance. It is normal, just like any other laptop brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the laptop is under heavy load like gaming. Also, the fan noise will be louder while an antivirus software or malware are running continuously in the background. Please ensure the system was not compromised by viruses or malware by doing a full system scan using internet security software or application. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal. It does decrease or normalizes once utilization goes down. Regarding the camera, ensure your face is clearly viewed by the camera for the facial recognition to work properly. To improve or prolong the battery charged time, if it is draining faster than normal, please try to do battery calibration manually. To start with, please drain it completely then charge it fully without using the system. Once fully charged, please use the system, without the AC adapter connected, and drain it completely again. Please repeat the charging process thereafter. Furthermore, verify if the laptop is running with the most current system update and third-party battery draining applications are not running if not in use.
If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. Amazing display but the 16GB of RAM is lackluster

I figured this laptop would be more than enough for playing World of Warcraft, but to my suprise it fell short. PROS: The oled display is amazing and colors have never looked better. The design is great, and it doesnt weigh much at all. Processing power is awesome and the GPU does its job. CONS: The 16GB of Ram makes this machine chug, I was at 100% usage with World of Warcraft, Discord and the RoG software running. The laptop idle with the factory software uses about 47%-52% of the available RAM. As other reviews mentioned, this laptop run pretty hot and the fans are noticibly loud. Overall, Im pretty dissatisfied and will be returning it this week.

Amazing laptop much better then my macbook

I love the big oled screen really makes shows and games much more enjoyable

I sold my gaming desktop but still wanted to game on a PC. This laptop can run any game. I play call of duty at 1440P and average around 160FPS. Which is pretty decent for a mid level gaming laptop. Super thin and super portable. 5/5.

Great laptop held back by the lack of RAM

Otherwise the specs are great. 16gb would have been fine a couple years ago, but modern games with Windows 11 need at least 32. I love the stealth look of the laptop with the lights all turned off, and the screen is fantastic, but I cannot recommend this laptop. I wish I had bought something different.
