Disappointed — Way Too Hot to Handle!

On paper, it sounds amazing — Intel Core Ultra 9, RTX 4070, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and that gorgeous OLED QHD 240Hz display. But in reality? It's almost unusable for gaming without serious thermal issues. The biggest problem: this machine gets ridiculously hot. Even playing less demanding games, the laptop heats up so much it feels like it's going to melt. During intense gaming sessions, especially with AAA titles or anything graphically heavy, the keyboard area and bottom of the chassis become uncomfortably warm. It throttles performance just to survive the heat! Sure, the screen looks beautiful, and the hardware is powerful — but what’s the point if you can't actually use it properly? I expected better thermal management from a premium "gaming" laptop at this price point. Very disappointed, especially for something that's supposed to be top-tier. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere if you care about performance AND comfort.

Haven’t had an issue with the 16GB ram being a bottleneck or any problems with processing power. Pretty happy with it. I did add a secondary drive to load up games. No issues there either.

Nice look but terrible thermal performer

This G16 is thin with a nice look, but it sacrifices the thermal, a lot. Idle Temperature: ~65-70 degree C Gaming Temperature: DOTA 2: around 85 degree C Wukong: above 95 C. The thermal performance is almost the same as my 4-year-old M15, so I think I will just return this.

We do understand your concern about thermal issues. It is normal that excessive heat is generated while under heavy load especially during gaming. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. Also, please try to tweak the performance mode inside the Armoury Crate application.
