Bought the laptop for my wife for her birthday she loves it

I purchased this laptop open-box in "excellent" condition on Black Friday and had it shipped to my house while I was away at school so I could open it when I got home. Upon opening it, the device was clearly in "fair" condition. There were dings and scratches on the lid, and the charger was missing! The box for the charger was still there, but alas, no charger, just the laptop. I called customer support and was told my only options were to purchase the charger myself or return the item. I purchased this item in EXCELLENT condition, which Best Buy states DIRECTLY UNDER the description of "excellent" condition open-box as: "Works and looks like new. Restored to factory settings. Includes ALL original parts, packaging and accessories." The product I received neither looked like new nor included all of the original parts or accessories. I insisted this MULTIPLE TIMES, yet they could not give me any other answer. I was given the wrong product and told to either cough up more money to fix THEIR problem or return the item. After hanging up, I checked the box and noticed there were two open-box stickers on it, one marked "excellent" and another, with an older date on it, marked "fair". Somebody had slapped an "excellent" sticker on a "fair" condition unit right before shipping it to me. Frustrated, I took the device to a physical Best Buy location in hope of a different answer. At this point, I would have been willing to pay the difference for a new unit at the Black Friday price, which was the price of the laptop at the time I purchased it. The manager at least TRIED this time to help me out, but I ended up with the same answer. He wasn't able to honor the BF price or replace the laptop with an actual "excellent" condition unit, so I just returned it for a refund. Now I don't have my laptop and would have to purchase another for MORE money than it would have before. This is a bait-and-switch scam and I can no longer trust Best Buy to actually deliver on their promises, which is a shame since I have had nothing but positive experiences buying new and open-box from Best Buy in the past.

I am in love with this laptop, I have not gotten issues with this so far and the quality is top tier! I would recommend this to anyone who is just starting to become a creator with create true colors with OLED screen.

Laptop is excellent and has all required features which a gaming laptop should have

This is a laptop that I can highly recommend. Not perfect but close to it. Performance wise, this laptop is fast. Just about everything you do including internet, email, and office products run very fast and smooth. As far as games are concerned, even the ones that need the most performance run buttery smooth and feels like it runs at a high frame rate. I did not actually measure it though, but visually it looks perfect. I can get around 6 hours of battery use doing standard office, email, and internet work. This is a great amount of time. Playing games is far shorter so you will want to have it plugged in. The screen is a beautiful OLED type. While the colors are vibrant and better than an IPS screen, I have seen OLED screens with better color correctness. The Armory Crate software has several settings to prevent the screen from getting burned in. This laptop probably has the best sound of any laptop I have used. The sound is crystal clear with clear highs and mids, and deep bass. How ASUS was able to get such good bass from tiny speakers is a mystery, but they did it. There is a string of lights on the back of the screen which is typical of gaming laptops. This lighting and flickering are particularly strange and just screams gaming laptop when in the coffee shop. I just assume turning it off which luckily you can. The keyboard is one way the laptop strays from perfect. I’m not sure why, but I find it hard to type on and am always making mistakes. It may be because the travel distance of the keys is very short and soft, so I am always pressing keys by accident. That is just a theory. The lighting is bright and really lights up the keys perfectly. The RGB lighting is only one zone. This is not necessarily a bad thing. It is worth pointing out to those who like the per key lighting on some laptops. There are dedicated buttons for volume and opening the Armory Crate app which is convenient and better than using the FN + function keys. The touchpad is very large and smooth to use. That part really shines. Clicking it is not quite sensitive enough so it either requires clicking it hard, or sometimes even using the buttons on the touchpad instead. I wish it was more sensitive clicking on it, so I never have to use the buttons. I am a touchpad kind of person. The connections are standard fare. You get thunderbolt, usb-c, usb 3, HDMI, headphone, and sd card slot. All connections are on the sides, so they are convenient to access and work as expected. The fans are relatively quiet when doing standard work. If you put your ear near it, you can hear it, but it is not at all obnoxious. The problem is that they seem to run all the time no matter what it is or isn’t doing. It doesn’t bother me but might for people who are very sensitive to it. Obviously while gaming they are louder but again not obnoxious and certainly not as loud as other gaming laptops I have used. It comes with a 1TB SSD which is standard for laptops now. I wish it was bigger, but I guess that is an upgrade I will need to make. Also, it doesn’t come with the fastest SSD as stock. RAM is where there is a big problem. It comes with 16GB of very fast memory which again is standard, but because it is soldered on to the motherboard, there is no way to increase it. You will always have 16GB and will never be able to get 32GB. I don’t know if it is because of the speed of the RAM, but this is a huge drawback. I would have been happier if there was 32GB soldered to the motherboard. The laptop is oh so thin and lightweight which is amazing considering the specs. The power brick is also very small and lightweight. Absolutely no problem traveling with this thing. It comes with Armory Crate which is a great software package for checking any status you can imagine and setting anything you can think of. It works great and is organized perfectly. There are just too many status indicators and settings to mention. It has a setting for battery care mode which keeps the battery from charging over 80%. I love this feature. This is a laptop I can recommend without any hesitation. There are a few annoyances that could be improved in a future iteration, and the inability to upgrade the RAM to 32GB is the one major problem I see with it. Overall, I am really enjoying using it.

I really like this computer but it overheat a lot, and crash if you try to run the games on the max

The laptop itself is a GREAT laptop! The problem however is that intels chip is a hot box! After several days of use, the laptop began to thermal throttle. This means performance is LOWERED to ensure the chip doesnt bake itself. Not something you can hokd onto long term. Darn shame because I really like the laptop design and cooling. But you can utilize something thats going to cook itself inside out. Temperatures typically sat in the 85°-90° range! And even afyer providing a cooling mat with fans to help with temps, i was never able to keep Temperatures below the 85°C mark.

I would’ve given it a 5 stars if only the screen had matte finish instead of glossy finish. I can see the keyboard reflection on my screen.

I wanted a laptop with a 4070 and ran across this one. $500 off is well worth not having an AMD processor. The OLED display at 240hz is very nice for gaming and with a 4070 you can really get your moneys worth. Very happy with this purchase!
