That is one of the reasons THIS WILL HAVE BEEN MY LAST PURCHASE AT BEST BUY. This laptop runs TOO HOT. Advertised as a 4k gaming PC. This will not run anything in 4k over 15-20FPS. From day 1, I've noticed this laptop runs HOT. (Do yourself a favor and google "Asus M15 issues") I would never have it on without the Turbo setting for the fans, and playing games on settings way lower than I expected to be able to play. After a few months, this degraded into crashing while idle. I would walk away, and come back and have to reboot the laptop in order for it to come on at all. This last week, I can't even be in the menus without my headset cutting out because everything's too hot. Graphic degradation, screen flickering, the whole 9 yards... We are now well outside of the 15 days Best Buy is willing to back you on. ...But there's a warranty right? Kinda... Best Buy was only willing to repair, or give me store credit... which they are listed as the LOCAL repair facility for Asus, however, there are NO TECHS who can repair my laptop ON SITE. It is currently being shipped to KY for 2-4 weeks. I tried to see what Asus would say. They advised I upgrade my BIOS (first thing I did), and do a "hard reboot." These did not resolve the overheating issues. The next step is to replace the thermal paste, because the laptop has *overheated to the point of melting the paste and its not making enough contact anymore.* This is where the warranty should come in - because even if they re-apply the paste, it does not account for the damage potentially done to the components of the PC, and thus my 1700 dollar investment was defective, but will not be honored as such. Very upset.

Cons: Horrible battery (2-3 hours), bad keyboard for typing, runs hot 24/7 to the point that I cannot touch it. If this was a 800 dollar laptop I would understand some of these issues, but it's a 1300 dollar gaming laptop by ASUS! Definitely a waste of money.

My local BestBuy got me a replacement, although they tried to charge me $165 at first. Other than that less than ideal customer service experience, the laptop is pretty good for the price point and gets done what I need it to without issue.

Was looking for something I could play games on and work on my computer science, so I thought this would be a decent laptop to have. The reason I am giving this 2 stars is because the fans get pretty loud over nothing. I can leave this laptop with no programs running and just have it idle and for some reason the fans go nuts. I also play League of Legends with friends, which is not a demanding game, and the fans still get extremely loud for no reason, my older laptop with older specs was able to run League without the fans getting so loud. I also have to keep it charged otherwise it dies in like 10 minutes.

When the electrical current is increased to a certain point, the magnetic field around the coil can cause it to vibrate, which produces the whiny sound. After a short amount of time the noise should go away as the components regulates. However, if it is that the sound is too much for you, then we would recommend that you have this device sent in for servicing.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This laptop is the worst thing to buy, I got this for my 16th birthday didn't have it for a year and I have had nothing but problems like my fans would sound like a dying gopher getting steamrolled. and when I play a game that doesn't have high graphics it's slower than a grandma with cancer and dementia. and when you ask them for help they say to buy a laptop cooler and send it to the techs to fix it. it would be cheaper to get a monitor, pc, desk, mouse, keyboard, and get a regular laptop than all the BS that BestBuy says you have to do to make it run a little better.
