Customers admire the ROG Zephyrus M15's performance, graphics capabilities, and long battery life. Many appreciate its lightweight design, comfortable keyboard, and ease of use, finding it a good value for the price. However, some users note that the fan noise and heat generation could be improved, and the lack of a built-in camera is a common point of feedback. Storage capacity is also mentioned as an area for potential improvement by some users.

Passable, and not 3200mhz RAM.

TL;DR:
The RAM on this model is not 3200Mhz it is 2933Mhz, checked in task manager.
The screen is lackluster only at around 75% sRGB but is 144hz and only 250nits if brightness so perfectly fine for gaming however at $1299 price point I would consider the lowest tier and not suitable for content creators. The models that have the 240hz panel or 4K 60hz have better panels that do achieve nearly 100% sRGB.
I/O ports are on the sides not the back which can be cumbersome to people.
Easily upgradable storage option with one m.2 slot that comes with a screw pre-installed.
Can undervolt CPU in the bios, also the CPU is delidded and has liquid metal to provide superior cooling.
Review:
I bought this open box for $1200, wouldn’t suggest anyone to buy this full price unfortunately.
There’s a new Lenovo Legion 5 that’s on the AMD platform that’s equipped with a 4800h (8c/16t) which gives you 2 more cores and 4 more threads vs this model that has a 10750h which is a 6c/12t. The legion also has the main I/O ports on the back for better aesthetics and gives more room on the sides. It also has easily upgradable storage as well as a 144hz 1080p screen with 100% sRGB and 300nits of brightness and comes with 3200mhz 16GB of RAM for $999. After I’ve done more testing I may end up returning this model and keeping the legion 5.
Now the battery is good enough on this, and I stay plugged in, if gaming I am never on battery. Long hours of browsing and video.
In terms of performance I give it “good enough” what can you expect from a laptop and 1660ti, has a 6c/12t 10750h which is the newer intel chip and has liquid metal for cooling which is a bonus . Averaging around 75fps on destiny 2 at medium settings. A fairly graphically intensive game. Fans didn’t get louder than the speakers but that was on silent mode. I also propped the laptop up higher using a box so it could get better cooling. If you’re playing less graphically intensive games then expect better results. It also highly depends on what settings you set your game to.
The CPU is rated to boost to 5.0ghz however I never experienced that at usually averaged 4.2ghz and sometimes 4.6ghz, I would suggest getting a laptop cooler to maybe help a little. Also undervolting using the BIOS would help. A 50mv offset in the should work for most and then you can try to up it and test stability via Prime95 or Intel Burn.
The screen is definitely on the lower tier of panels when it comes to this price range I’d say since it can’t even hit 90% sRGB, and is very lackluster in terms of brightness as well at 250nits which is pretty standard, but nowadays there’s panels that are reaching a much better 300nits+.
No Numpad.
The speakers are good. No complaints.
There is no included webcam so if you need one, you’ll have to pay or look at a different laptop.
The RAM on the Best Buy page advertises 3200mhz speed however this isn’t accurate for this model. Checking task manager it is dual channel which is good however it’s only running at 2933mhz. Haven’t seen any BIOS options that need to be set to get a higher speed. Also anything higher than 2933mhz is technically out of spec for intel and will void your warranty (at least on desktop PCs).
Overall if you’re looking for a gaming laptop, this is fine. However at $1299 it is definitely overpriced especially with the very competitive pricing that AMD is able to offer. Since you most likely won’t be able to hit 5.0ghz either while under load. Fiscally and in terms of performance I would look into AMD Laptops with their new 4000 series chips. Like the NEWEST Lenovo Legion 5 that I’m testing currently. It comes with an 4800H (8c/16t) and 1660ti with 3200mhz RAM and 512gb of SSD storage with options to upgrade. Not RGB, definitely more minimalist. Alternatively also look at the Zephyrus G14 on the AMD platform if you want a smaller laptop.

this is my first gaming laptop and I absolutely love it. o me the screen is bright and the build quality is fantastic. the speakers are awesome...lots of bass for music. love the lights on the keyboard. no webcam but I didn't use them, to begin with so not a deal-breaker. I play the sims and it can handle maxed-out settings with ease...no lag during gameplay and the graphics look amazing. love the look and feel and I would definitely recommend this to someone. The fan does get pretty loud but with a cooling pad and earbuds/headphones, it shouldn't be an issue. shouldn't you expect that anyway though? to be honest I don't know why people didn't like this laptop... it's great!

So I went in to BB with the intention of getting the HP Omen but I couldn’t get myself to spend 1600 after tax and came very close to just getting the HP Pavillion 15.6 gtx 1660. I took one last look over at the laptops and asked if they had this in stock and they did it just wasn’t on display! I asked about the specs and it was everything I was looking for! This laptop is a beast! The 10th gen processor, gtx 1660 ti, 16g RAM, and 144hz truly make this laptop beautiful! WoW runs silky smooth and looks fantastic! I love the look too because it doesn’t scream gamer lol. I just wish it had a web cam and not having a number pad is an adjustment but the laptops performance is so strong I don’t care! Buy it! You won’t regret it:)

So Far, So Good

I just bought this laptop last month. I know very little about laptops and asked a Best Buy employee to help me pick a gaming laptop. This is my first gaming laptop. I bought it because I wanted a laptop that could easily play The Sims 3 and 4 on the highest settings and running all the expansions at once with minimum lag. I also wanted something powerful so that I could branch out to play other games as well. So far, this is working fine.
I really like the look of it. It doesn’t look as overtly “gamer” as some of the other laptops I looked at. If anyone is wondering if it has AniME capabilities, it doesn’t. If you’re wondering if it’s an RGB keyboard, it is.
Battery life is okay, I get about 4 hours playing games on battery and about 6-8 just surfing the web. It charges pretty quickly. I’m satisfied with the graphics quality and sound. It fits my needs fine. I like it so far and hope it will last a long time.

Good laptop definitely very fast but the fan is always on and is loud. It can get annoying sometimes and if you set the fan to quiet mode the laptop gets WARM very quickly.

I purchased this laptop (1st Asus in years) to replace an HP with similar features, that I had just purchased to create videos and photoshop work for our business. I am more than satisfied with the device. It starts up quickly and processes the items I create with no problem. I'm already looking at getting a second one that I can use when I am on the road so this one can stay on my desk. Selfish? OK! LOL

Used to Think an i7 Was an i7, But I Was Wrong
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I used to think an i7 was an i7, but boy was I wrong. My previous laptop was a 2015 Dell with an i7 and here I was thinking I had this powerful beast of a machine back then, but turns out the "U" model i7's at the time (and probably still) only have 2 cores and are way underpowered compared to the ones in gaming configurations. The i7-10750H in this laptop has SIX CORES. That made a HUGE difference already, but that's not all the Zephyrus has up its sleeves.
I bought this mostly for music and video production, which I'll talk about separately from gaming.
FEATURES: As far as features go, the Zephyrus M15 is packed. Boots up in seconds from complete shutdown. Programs load up insanely fast. Battery life is about 4-6 hours for me usually (not while gaming). You can shorten or lengthen that depending on brightness and fan speeds. The 144hz screen is BUTTERY smooth, I've never experienced that sort of refresh rate on a computer before to realize how much of a difference it makes. Even using a Mac feels clunky now in comparison, I can never go back to 60hz after this. People have complained about the colors since it's not 100% RGB, but I was able to mess with the built-in Intel screen settings and got it looking pretty nice and vibrant without being too saturated or inaccurate, and the screen gets plenty bright. Also the exterior of the laptop is really nice. I have the prism gray, it's super thin and isn't too flashy or over the top "gamer". The reflective color on the lid is cool too.
A nice little bonus with this intel model is that you get THUNDERBOLT! It's the same port that newer Macbooks have. That keeps things pretty future-proofed. I can hook up an external GPU through that if I want, or a super fast external SSD, charge the laptop off of it, or even hook up multiple monitors, etc. Other laptops I compared (and all AMD laptops) do not have this feature, as it's still sort of rare.
GAMING: So this is my first gaming setup besides consoles. The GTX 1660 Ti on this thing is a beast. I was worried it wouldn't be enough power compared to something like a 2060 or 3060, but it's plenty. I have to say that some of these reviewers may have have been using the "Windows" or "Silent" power configurations with the lower FPS they were getting. On "Performance" or "Turbo" I'm able to get between 75-100fps on Warzone, over 200fps on Valorant, over 100fps on Apex Legends, all of which are running at the highest available settings. Yes the fans get sort of loud at times, they're a little higher in pitch, but this is a SUPER thin gaming laptop, so that's expected. I have not experimented with undervolting but I've heard you can do that and get even more fps on some games.
MUSIC/VIDEO PRODUCTION: This is where this laptop shines for me. I am constantly running Ableton for music, Photoshop for photos, and Premiere Pro for video. In Ableton, sessions that would take 5-10 minutes to even pull up now load up instantly. I can arrange dozens of tracks, add tons of plugins, and experience no lag. This has upped my game significantly. Photo editing is a breeze, projects open super quick and don't lag. Same with video editing. Video footage that used to take hours to export now takes a minute or two. I can now run video playback previews in full quality instead of always having to have it at 1/4 quality to even run. The 16gb of RAM doesn't seem to hold anything back, I never end up maxing out at all.
SIDE NOTES: I purchased this laptop secondhand for a STEAL of a price at $750, practically brand new and factory reset. I have since added a faster 1TB SSD (SK Hynix Gold P31) to the extra M.2 SSD slot and made that my primary boot drive. Also, If you're experiencing any issues like a few people seem to be, try a factory reset, it might even perform faster. I was also confused by which Asus software I ACTUALLY needed at first. Narrowed it down so the only ones I have installed are MyASUS for updating drivers and Armoury Crate (and the extra stuff it requires) to control fan speeds and pick power plans. I've also updated my NVIDIA driver manually through the NVIDIA website, as Asus doesn't do that for you automatically (for compatibility reasons but it runs fine).
CONCLUSION: Yes, you can find similar specs or even better specs in other laptops for cheaper or at the same price, but I will say that this thing is just built so sturdy and well, and is super nice and sleek-looking. The temps stay good with the liquid metal, you have the expandable M.2 storage, thunderbolt, etc. and it all just feels very well put together and optimized. It just works. This thing was not built to only last a couple years. If you find the M15 being sold open-box or secondhand for cheap, jump on it!
Do I miss having a touch screen? No, barely ever used it. Do I miss having a webcam? Nope. I can buy a USB webcam if I really need one. Overall, the Zephyrus M15 is a worthy upgrade for anyone looking for peace of mind in a high quality, well-built laptop with insanely fast loading times, great gaming performance, and amazing performance with creative programs.

This has been the best performing laptop I've ever owned, but let's start from the beginning.
Setup was quick and easy. No major bumps and guides you through account set up.
Customizations is explained first thing with everything from beginner level changes to full blown customization already build into the colorful keypad.
The overall look of the laptop is sleek and beautiful, and it is surprisingly lightweight for the size and power.
Speaking of power, this is a powerhouse. It has taken everything I've thrown at it with ease. From smaller games like stardew valley to fully modded, high graphics Skyrim.
The sound!!!! I don't even like wearing headphones while gaming, because the sound out of this little machine is beautiful! I was blown away the first time I heard it.
Battery life is pretty impressive. Just be prepared for heavy drop with high quality games. For more easy going games, it lasts quite a while.
If there are any complaints to be had, it would be this.
1. The fan can get a little loud when running high quality games. Add a cooling pad or good headphones and thats not an issue though.
2. The touch pad is positioned a bit awkwardly and tends to get bumped when typing (right hand). That being said it doesn't really affect gameplay. As I said, bumped by the right hand. Not left. If you're using this for lots of typing, this might be something to consider before buying.
3. USB and power cord ports are positioned strangely but not really an issue.
Of those 3 things, none are real complaints. I personally have no issue with these things. Simply observations that are good to know and expect if someone is looking to buy.
Overall, I absolutely love this laptop and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a gaming pc.
