Laptop runs okay, response isn’t as fast as I expected. The fans are nice and loud, the asus bloat ware was expected as well. Need a few days work to optimize, but I’ll get it sorted. Great deal overall.

I bought the ASUS - ROG Zephyrus M15 15.6" Gaming Laptop a few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. It has a powerful Intel Core i7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q graphics card that can handle any game I throw at it. The 1TB SSD is fast and spacious, and the Prism Gray color is sleek and stylish. The laptop is also thin and light, making it easy to carry around. The only downside is that the battery life is not very long, so I have to keep it plugged in most of the time. Overall, I would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a high-performance gaming machine.

This laptop is pretty amazing! I've tested out many other laptops and compared specs and read reviews and I ended up giving this one a shot. To my surprise, the pros outweigh the cons on this laptop.
The Pros:
Intel Core i7 10750H (6 cores @ 2.6GHz each)
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q
1TB NVMe SSD
16GB RAM (upgradeable to 24GB)
Trackpad (glass and very accurate)
Keyboard (w/ RGB backlight)
WiFi 6 (there is a con with this though)
Gigabit ethernet
Full-sized HDMI
3 USB-A connections (x2 3.2 Gen) on right side, (x1 3.1 Gen) on left side
The screen - 240Hz, 3ms screen
The speakers (after tweaking them, they actually get pretty loud and have decent bass) w/ ESS Sabre DAC & Hi-Res certified
The USB-C port for charging (using an Anker PowerPort III 65W charger is plenty when I won't be gaming) and Thunderbolt 3
The weight of this laptop (~4.2lbs) is amazing for what it contains!
The build. It's a magnesium-alloy which has a very nice finish which seems like it's going to be very durable
The Cons:
The screen... No touchscreen & it only gets up to 321 nits, which isn't very bright and seems dull in brightly lit areas (compared to Dell XPS 15" 9500 at 500 nits and MacBook Pro 16" at 500 nits). And I don't know if it's just my specific laptop, but at startup, the screen goes black for a few seconds and comes back on. Not sure if it's selecting which graphics to use right then and there (internal or external), but that is a little annoying.
WiFi... the range is low. Every other laptop I've had seems to have good range, but this one almost always never gets full signal, unless I'm really close to the AP. I don't know (again) if that is just my unit, or all of them. And it might be because the actual chip sits under a heat pipe for the CPU/GPU?? Not sure.
No webcam... this (for me) really isn't a big con. I actually never really used a webcam in all of the laptops I've had! If I do need one, I have a perfectly good Samsung S20 with a 4K camera in it that I can use, if I ever did need one.
I got a bluescreen today (10/20/2020) as I was writing this (on another computer). It was a "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" blue screen error. The only thing I have really changed on this laptop was that I upgraded the OS from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro by changing my product key. Other than that, I haven't had any issues and I hope that continues!
So, with all of this, I do find the Pros outweigh the Cons and I am sticking with this laptop! I use it mainly for work purposes (IT work), but I might find myself playing a game or two here and there. This laptop is almost exactly what I was looking for!

My pros:
Very powerful laptop.
The sound of the speakers is excellent for a laptop.
Bought it when it was on sale for $1250 in store, so it was a steal for an rtx2070 max q with 1TB ssd. Similar models go for way more , and often don't have the same 240hz 3ms screen that this laptop comes with.
It doesn't have an edgy gamer design which is something I appreciate a lot. It keeps on being slick and business like, while packing a lot of power under the hood for when it is time for gaming without advertising to the world that you are one when you take the laptop to your workplace
Cons:
Only con that I can think of is how hot in runs at times. Sometimes it can reach up to 98 degrees, but the average keeps on being at around 88 when gaming. Not too hot, not too cold for a laptop, but I wish it ran colder without sacrificing performance and without setting my AC unit the coldest it can go to save a few degrees ( I'm always gaming with a sweater now)
For some people, the sound of the fans might be a bit too much, but if you are gaming with headphones that shouldn't be too much of a problem because they aren't that loud (at least for me)
Also, this laptop doesn't have a webcam, for me is no biggie since I bought it for gaming, But, I can see how for some people it can be an issue.

i7-10750H with 2070 Max Q, 16gb RAM and 1ttb SSD this laptop is amazing. I bought this laptop mainly for gaming and it runs pretty much any game out right now over 100fps at 1080p depending on graphics settings. With RTX just starting to become relevant in games this laptop will be good for gaming for easily the next 5 years on par or even better then the new consoles coming out. The 240hz 3 ms response time for a monitor is good but really only makes a difference on games like csgo where you can get 300+ FPS with this laptop. On Modern Warfare Warzone I usually get 140-160FPS on all low settings and 66 render resolution. If I go up to 100 render resolution I manage 100-120fps on all low settings. The laptop comes with “Armoury Crate” software where you can change modes between: Silent, Performace, turbo, and manual. The different options change things like: energy, noise(fans), cooling(fans), CPU/GPU performance. The major difference in fan noise on turbo mode requires a headset for gaming. I’d recommend the ASUS Rog Delta headset that can be used in what’s called Aura Sync so your headset, mouse and keyboard all follow the same lighting on RGB. With an ASUS headset you have audio you can control through the Armoury Crate and another application called Sonic Studio. The MyASUS app does all the checkups for you and keeps the computer up to date. GeForce experience app allows you to update your graphics drivers for your 2070 MAX-Q card. If I was to go any other route I’d buy the MSI GS66 primarily because it has a regular 2070 instead of a max q power saver build like the ASUS M15. All in all I’m happy with the laptop thus far. No issues, very good build, very fast, reliable and efficient because of max q. I haven’t noticed any throttling no temps over 85 unless longer hours of gaming occur.

Pros:
-Excellent gaming performance
-Fast display is smooth with games and using windows
-Display has nice color and brightness (could be a bit brighter though, which is the case for most gaming laptops)
-Intel H Processor rips through Photoshop tasks. When converting a batch of RAW files to JPEGS, it shreds the Asus G14 with The Ryzen 7 4800HS. I couldn't believe the difference. (This process only used CPU and not GPU).
-Keyboard is decent, no complaints. RGB Colors looks good.
Cons:
-Noisy touchpad when tapping, doesn't sound solid and well put together. The G14 laptop does not have this issue so I was disappointed to hear this. This stood out right away and is my biggest complaint on this PC. I believe you can take off the bottom cover and fix this if you look at forums for ideas.
-Loud fans when gaming (especially Turbo mode)
-Bottom facing speakers
-No SD card slot
-Heat. Get a laptop cooling pad if you plan to game on your lap or really on any surface.
-No webcam
-No Fingerprint reader
Overall the PC is a great package with excellent hardware and performs great for games. The fast refresh rate feels great when just using the PC for casual tasks. I do wish the build quality matched the G14 and had stereo speakers on the top of the laptop.
I recommend this laptop if you want the ability to game with AAA titles at max quality.

I bought this laptop primarily for gaming but also wanted something semi-light weight for portability purposes. This checks all the boxes. Amazing refresh rate 240hz, 1tb SSD, 10th gen i-7, and a great video card. I have been testing out different gaming laptops for the last year with all different variants of specs. I have successfully been able to play some of the most graphics intensive and demanding games such as Modern Warfare at max settings with over 100 FPS. I could easily hit the 240 mark if I slightly lowered a couple of settings. The screen is 1080P which makes it easy to hit those higher FPS with the included RTX 2070 max-q. Also its pretty nice that it has an WiFi 6 (AX) card in it, so it pairs well if you have a wireless network with Wifi 6. It does run a bit hot, but I haven't seen it cause any drops in performance. Its silky smooth and lightning fast. I cannot find a better configured laptop for this price anywhere. It will literally outperform some of these more expensive laptops, as I have tested myself. Don't waste your time looking elsewhere, if you want a gaming laptop that performs at a great price, this is the one you want.

As an avid gamer, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus has everything I could possibly want in a gaming laptop.
For starters, while most competitors offer an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card at this price range, this laptop offers a GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q which offers even better performance.
Also, another issue I had with similar gaming laptops at this price range is that many will either opt for a 512GB SSD or 1TB HDD hard drive. When games are 50GB each, 512 GB runs out of space faster than one can expect. This model has a 1TB SSD which is able to store all the games I want as well as any personal files that I may have.
This laptop is also very light and portable for a gaming laptop. I'm used to the previous generations which were bulky and heavy for use. This model is something that can ease in use as a gaming station or a personal laptop. Not to mention the added portability means I can go anywhere with it.
And did I mention that the screen is 240Hz refresh rate? WOW. Most laptops I look at this price only has a 144Hz refresh rate but ASUS delivers yet again. ASUS picture quality is stunning, as usual.
The RGB lighted keyboard is nice. Keypresses are silent on the keyboard. Sound quality is good but not something that's extraordinary. Noise can sometimes be drowned out by the fans.
The only downside that I have about this laptop is that the keyboard is missing a numpad and there is no webcam. But for specs at this price, it's sacrifices I'm willing to make. This is a gaming laptop that's portable, light, and able to run all the games I want at near-max graphic settings. Numpad and webcams are tradeoffs I'm willing to make at $1.2K.
5/5.

I've only had the Asus ROG M15 for a short time, but it is growing on me. I really enjoy the look and feel of the keyboard and the 15.6 inch screen quality is great. The sound is really good as well. It is FAST, FAST, FAST with the I7 Intel processor and the 1TB SSD. There are so many ASUS apps that you can find on the Google Play to go with the computer, which I am still figuring out. The downside is there is no manual and the one on line doesn't cover everything the computer comes with or what you can add. The other con is there is no web camera built in, but of course you can buy a after market one, but it would be nice to have a built in one. I know CDs are going the way of the 8Track and cassette, but again it would be nice to have a CD player built in. However, the laptop is sleek and light with a quality well built feel to it. It looks great and up to date for an awesome Gaming Computer. My games play great with high frame rates to match. I would recommend this laptop for anyone looking for a fast gaming computer.

This computer is great!!! Picked it up for my son just starting HS. He loves it. It's fast, great for school and gaming. It runs a little hot and the fan does get loud when gaming and watching video, but most of the time for normal operation it runs fine. We were lucky to get it on sale, that saved almost 300. Very fast and has a lot of space for programs and apps, also the NVMe drive makes it almost seamless during operation. I like the design better than my new HP Omen, the construction is solid. When you don't have any bad things to say about an item that makes it a very good item. Thanks BestBuy for providing me with 2 fantastic computers (Laptops) in the last 4 months, and thanks for allowing me to test / try them before making choice decision. I didn't give this laptop a 5/5 for battery life because we just got the computer, but so far I don't see any problems (It's plugged in most of the time).

So far, in the ~2 months I've had this laptop, I can't find anything bad about it. With aftermarket upgrade options you can revamp the RAM up to 40GB total,by adding a 32GB slot (remember the 3200Mhz clock speed) and using the empty disk bay with some SSD featuring bloody speeds (consider Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB/2TB), making it a serious contender against more "PRO/EXPENSIVE" models.
The thermals work well, and gives you a highly customizable profile depending on your activity. I have tested and validated that the machine can run up to 4-4.5 hours with simple web browsing, netflix, document edition with the "silent" profile, also running cool and REALLY SILENT.
However, when turning ON the forbidden AAA games, the fans make this thing LEVITATE and temperatures can start rising up. Remember to always keep this machine well vented, and to switch the profiles accordingly (you can also automate it so it changes depending on your active game).
Before actually buying this device, I spent some time researching about the competition models, and I found it to be the jack of all trades. You got Power Delivery (USB-C charge), a nice amount of USB-A ports (3), sick graphics, 240Mhz refresh rate (really more than normally needed for an average user), individual audio/mic jack ports AND the overall look of this laptop doesn't scream I'M A GAMER so you can bring it to classes/outside without attracting unneeded attention.
To end this short review and, in order to give more context, I migrated from a Macintosh environment (in which I spent the last 6 years) and found the transition not as traumatizing as I expected.
P.S: You don't have to waste 3k-4k cash to get a decent high-end machine that can handle hard amounts of serious gaming but still be able to do some "normal user" work without the need of being plugged like a terminal disease patient.

Bought the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M15 as a gift to myself, after not having had a gaming PC for about 5 years.
It was worth the wait.
I wanted to get a powerful enough machine to play most (if not all) games of today at high quality, but also light and mobile enough for me to bring around when I travel.
The ROG Zephyrus M15 is very light, and built durably, so I have very few fears throwing it into my backpack and bringing along with me for our travels. The screen is beautiful, the keyboard has been solid, and overall build quality is great.
Played a LOT of games in the weeks since I received it, and it has not stuttered or missed a step in any of the games I tried. It can be on the loud side, as playing any decent game seems to turn on all of its exhaust fans, and it gets rather hot, but I literally played for 16 hours one day, and did not have any issues.
Solid laptop, continues to impress, can't wait to keep playing games.

I purchased this as a gift and the feedback I got has been very pleased with its performance. The first time around, it kept giving the BSOD so it was returned and swapped for a replacement. Compared to the macbook pros, this laptop has decent speakers. Not quite as loud but it's definitely audible and the quality is nice. As for the performance, it runs smoothly with no hiccups. The web browsing experience is fantastic even with many tabs running as well as running other programs for work and even just playing games. The fans do run loud sometimes while playing games though but the battery life has been great and so has the performance.
The weight is impressively light and the overall build is thin and clean. The packaging it came in was amazing and is as beautiful as the laptop itself.

I am at the 7 month mark with this laptop as I bought it in June of 2020. I will start with a few questions that I hope can be answered followed with my thoughts on this laptop.
1. At times (once a month) after playing games for a few hours or working, the CPU remains hot. I have came back after 15 to 30 minutes to pack it up and it was as if the laptop was under heavy load causing the high temps. What could be causing this? How can this be fixed?
2. What are the best ways to clean the fans for this laptop? I have used compressed air and that seems to help for a little while. Will removing the fans and cleaning separately be more efficient?
Now onto the review:
This laptop is a powerhouse. The 2070 Max-Q allows for great FPS even at high to ultra settings (depending on game title of course). It handles my workload rather easily when recording and processing data. This is a really great laptop I would recommend if you are creating content in any form. The screen is also really nice. I chose the 240Hz/3ms as I do play video games, but would recommend the 4k option for the improved clarity if you are just creating color accurate content. Upgrading this laptop is fairly easy when it comes to adding additional memory, though it is only NVMe compatible for the additional slot they provide. The heat during heavier use is maintain rather well, but can be rather loud as given with any slimmer design laptop.
My main concerns are illustrated in the two questions and they could be isolated to the laptop I have personally and wouldn't want to detract that from anyone else's. Unless of course more come out to have similar issues.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and have always recommended ASUS products.
