There are so many laptops out now, especially with these specs, that are easily $200+ more than this. The Razer Blade similarly specced can be between $2000-$2300. I mainly bought this to game while traveling for work, but I think I'll be using this full time while I'm at home as well.
The build quality is great - the matte finish on the inside of the laptop hides fingerprints completely. Minimal deck flex in the keyboard area. The front of the laptop has a nice touch with the prism dots. The grey color is super unique as well!
The keyboard lighting is decent. The colors are easily customizable using the Armory Crate (not to be confused with Aura Sync, which is a little over the top imho). It has single zone RGB lighting.
Speakers are decent, but I usually use headphones or a bluetooth speaker.
The 240hz panel and the RTX 2070 Max Q are like a match made in heaven. I usually only play MMOs (WoW and Guild Wars 2) so everything I throw at it looks phenomenal and silky smooth. When the CPU temps reach above 72 C, the fans can get pretty loud. It's to be expected with such a small form factor. When I play GW2, which is highly CPU dependent, the temp of the CPU got up to around 87 C, but the fans on turbo kept it on point and it never goes any higher. It does get a little warm, but for those with cold hands it feels really nice, haha.
I will say that I did have to return the first unit I bought, due to a dead/stuck pixel on the screen that was bright white. Best Buy took it back no questions asked and sent me a replacement, which is perfect. Kudos to Best Buy for the good customer service.

For the record, I don't know too much about gaming laptops so I had a friend help me pick this one out as I've just gotten into pc gaming. I haven't owned this laptop long but so far it's been pretty good to me. I can play pretty much any game with ease. However, it does get really hot super fast when playing games like borderlands, left 4 dead, COD, etc. It doesn't get super hot for games like league and sims 4. It did blue-screen once after a game of borderlands but this problem was easily fixed when propping up the computer so that it could get better ventilation. I saw some other people on here complain about the feel of the keys but I personally like how they feel and don't think that they feel super cheap.

Great looking laptop. Seriously, it looks amazing and it is quite slim for its specs. I using it for gaming and run the fans on high to keep it cool so it’s a little louder that I would like but with my headset on I don’t notice. I was surprised how good the quality of the built-in speakers. Great a high performance laptop especially since I got it on sale.

With no GPUs, Xbox or Playstation in sight for still quite awhile, this was a great buy. Especially an open box at a great price. There is a lot of stuff packed into it and it runs hot on newer titles. Gaming Laptop might be a misleading description. I keep this thing far from my lap when gaming unless it is on a cooling mat at the highest rear elevation. The cooling and exhaust fans can be quite loud and blasts hot air pretty far on turbo mode. Gonna want to give this some breathing room while gaming. Or you could heat up your lunch. On battery mode or not gaming it is whisper quiet and cool. The noise and heat are not a problem to me because I game from the couch now. Other than the heat and fans, this machine cranks. YouTube has a few good reviews regarding specs and such. Just wanted to warn any prospective buyers not to brand their thighs with intake grill patterns!

Excellent unit for the price point. The 2070 Max Q GPU puts in some serious work. The only reason it is not a 5 star rating is during high load it is loud as well as gets a bit warm. Other than that I highly recommend it.

I stopped building gaming PCs about 10 years ago and started just buying laptops since I still game, but I wouldn't consider myself a "hardcore" gamer anymore. I like having the mobility to take it out of town or downstairs to game or edit photos so I tend to stick with 15 inch gaming laptops.
Over the past 5 years I've owned 2 different gaming laptops from reputable brand names. The first one was great, but the CPU completely died after 1 year and the vendor wanted to charge $800 to replace it.
The 2nd one wasn't as good as far as build quality, but the performance was awesome. However, the battery charge started depleting over time and after a year (see a pattern?) I opened it up and saw that the battery had massive swollen capacitors. The vendor for this product wanted to charge $600 for a battery replacement.
Which brings me to this laptop. Right out of the box I could tell that the quality is exceptional. It has a modern, yet minimal look which I love. After setting it up and updating all drivers, I ran benchmarks and saw that the RTX 2070 Max-Q performed substantially better than the RTX 2060 from the previous laptops.
Let's hope that the "3rd time's the charm" breaks my 1-year life expectancy for gaming laptops.

Hot hot hot. This thing runs loud and hot due to its extremely slim profile. Unfortunately Asus doesn't allow you to undervolt the Intel i7-10750 inside to help with efficiency, but I believe that Alienware and MSI still do. It can get toasty even before gaming begins if you a few apps running together (I do some casual game programming with Unity3D, MS Visual Studio, Excel, some browsers), but in fairness Unity 3D leverages the dGPU lightly. The fans can get excessively loud during my workflow, so I found it a bit too distracting to keep, especially with the new Tiger Lake chips coming out that support Thunderbolt 4 for eGPUs.

Its exactly what i expected. I love the aurmory crate app and the colors. The design is really good and its thinner than i expected. Its loud but its understandable because it has a 2070. I edit videos with premiere and the studio computers wirk great. My render times are insane with after effects. It is loud but who cares

There's a lot of performance in this slim package. The fans get pretty loud in high demand games but it does well to keep thermals in check. I play a lot of VR titles and this handles them perfectly. Battery life was better than expected but is still not an all day machine without the power cable. Although, it does support usb-c charging in a pinch. The screen is fantastic for games and video and the 240hz refresh keeps games buttery smooth. No webcam might be a deal breaker for some. System feels very solid.

I was torn between this laptop and the G14, so I tried them both. I originally purchased the M15 and then I could not stop thinking, "was this the right choice? should I have gotten the G14 instead?". I had been following news about the G14 before release. I kept up with the reviews and was disappointed to hear about the poor backlighting on the keys, an issue I was trying to get away from on a 2016 HP laptop and I was also nervous about the lifespan of the computer/display after learning that hot air is blown directly onto the screen.
The battery life of the G14 and the latest Ryzen process attracted me for sure, but I wanted a bigger screen, I wanted good/decent backlighting, and I wanted better monitor response times. The day after I received the laptop, I also picked up a G14 so I could be absolutely certain with my expensive purchase. Immediately upon opening and powering on the G14, I realized that I had made the right decision. I had heard for months about the terrible key backlighting on the G14 (often as the only negative to the computer) but I never would have imagined it would be THAT BAD. The backlighting was automatically set to on during initial boot up and I could not even read half of the keys in a partially lit room. Of course, I could have turned the backlighting off, but good backlighting was important for me. I immediately returned it within an hour.
Enter the M15, the laptop that met every single one of my desires except for a Ryzen processor. (I wanted an RGB keyboard and was hoping for per-key, but the single zone is enough for me to feel cool when around people that aren't gamers that arent accustomed to seeing that)
This laptop doesn't attract TOO MANY fingerprints, and it is definitely a more "discrete" gaming laptop. Due to the bigger size (at least according the all of the review comparisons between the G14 vs G15 vs M15) the thermals and cooling power are much better on this device. Personally, I have found that while gaming the middle of the keyboard retains heat, while the two sides remain relatively cool to the touch, similar to touching stainless steel in a room at room temp. I use a cooling stand to raise the laptop and provided additional cooling power, which I have found works quite well thanks to the thermal design of the M15.
This laptop is FAST, the display is crisp with fairly accurate colors (can't really tell the difference between this and my 27" 1440p monitor), and has a battery that lasts long enough for productivity.
BATTERY- Do not be turned off by the number on the specs page for battery life. On average with power-saving mode (which doesn't darken the display as much as other computers I have owned) 5-7 tab web browsing/shopping and Spotify on in the background, and with fans set to silent, I can milk about 7 hours of battery life out of this laptop. I have not yet tried to game on the battery, though I doubt it would last very long.
GAMING- I have only played a couple of titles on this laptop (Battle for Bikini Bottom and Assassins Creed Odyssey) but the performance in AC:Odyssey was enough for me to know just what this laptop can handle. I achieved 130-144fps in ultra mode and with the fans on turbo. As far as fan noise goes, turbo of course gets quite loud but with a pair of headphones on, I was able to block out (probably) 90-95% of the fan noise. On silent mode this thing is basically whispered quiet which is perfect for office use.
As a cybersecurity researcher that has studied computers for years, I highly recommend this laptop. This laptop has improvements in places that the G14 has weaknesses (cooling design, backlighting, screen size, screen response rate) and also offers a negligibly better graphics card. This laptop is great for students and professionals that enjoy playing video games. The ability to charge with a USB-C Thunderbolt/PD charger also makes this laptop great for travel.
*NOTE* by default, the display is set to 60hz. Before playing a game you have to manually change it in windows settings. There should also be a way in the Armoury Crate to specify titles that will set the fan level and change the display settings. The profiles are adaptive so that if you exit a game to the windows desktop, the fan will change based on the profile for all other applications.

Super fast and able to play every game I've thrown at it so far at the best quality graphics in 4K (external monitor). Love the design and even though it's a bit loud when gaming, you won't notice it if you game with headphones on. Silent mode is decent if you're gaming without charging.

I do like this laptop...however there are a few things that bother me. 1) the battery life is terrible. On a full charge, not gaming, I get maybe 2 hours if that. 2) The charger is huge, I guess it's not a big deal if you have this on a desk but if you need to carry it around it becomes a pain. 3) The fans seem to have a mind of their own. Even on games that are not intense or downloading an update, they seem to go to 100% for no reason.
For gaming, while plugged in, this thing is a beast. Easily handles WOW, COD warzone, Overwatch, Diablo, Elite Dangerous,

I've had the laptop just over a week now and I've been absolutely loving it. The screen is amazing the keyboard is really nice for a laptop (for the most part)
Gaming performance is really really good (only while plugged in)
The reason this only gets 4 stars instead of 5 however is that when you unplug the laptop the gaming performance is severely affected. Even when you have force GPU enabled the performance is pathetic.
Can't even run a game at minimum graphics at a reasonable frame rate while it's not plugged in.
I'd give this 3 stars if everything else wasn't done so well.

Great laptop with one minor flaw and one major flaw ... no camera and heat. The boost on the Max-q is awesome but in doing so I was able to get the GPU to hit 90C. I would think this would be resolved with a cooling mat, but along with not having a webcam and being a student who travels for work, adding more stuff to my bag was not what I wanted.
The laptop overall is very well built and types very nicely. The screen was great, and the overall appearance did not scream gamer, which my replacement unfortunately does.
If you can get a handle on the heat this is a great laptop

Bought this the summer of 2020. Would give it 5 stars but it's had some issues that has made it unusable as a portable laptop. First to start off when I first purchased the laptop whenever the laptop would go into sleep mode and wake up, the laptop would get a blue screen error. Fixed that issue by just using a screen saver and not letting it sleep. Then a couple weeks after having the laptop the fans started making a loud scratching skipping noise randomly. Only way to fix it is to replace the fans. Unfortunately I NEEDED the laptop for school so I just held onto it. From reading other complaints and forums, this model has had issues with the fan bearings quickly wearing out Also, believe me I understand gaming laptops have a lot of heat and fans are usually noisy but this laptop takes it to another level. Sometimes it sounds like a jet trying to take off and it is constantly loud even in silent mode. I suspect from reading other issues people have had with the laptop that the liquid metal or thermal paste was applied terribly. Since I have a new laptop and the warranty has long expired I plan on opening it up to replace the fans and repaste anyways, I'll know soon enough. Otherwise the laptop is solid and games well even two years later. Screen is great and computer still runs fast and is great for programming/heavy process handling work. Unfortunately the issues mentioned keep me from actually being able to take this laptop places because of the fan noise or if the fan bearings issue might show up.

Overall a great laptop, however, I returned it as I was looking for something with longer battery life and more portability. Built quality seemed fine though it did seem to run hotter than I would prefer (though better than many other gaming laptops I've tried out).
