    Powerful Laptop, Product Description Errors

I'm a full-time web designer that uses a windows desktop as my main work station. I wanted to have something equal in power to my desktop for work + gaming that I could take mobile and this laptop performance is very impressive for both design and gaming. I run applications like Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma, which all run very good. Having the dedicated GPU was a must have for me, which is why I decided to stay with Windows. The ASUS ROG has software built in, so if you need to reserve power on the go, you can switch to utilizing the integrated graphics. This was nice for business travel when I needed more battery time. If you plan on using this laptop for high performance, you will find yourself being plugged in most of the time. Overall, I love this laptop, I had a Macbook Pro before this and found this laptop is on par with performance, if not, better in some areas, thanks to the dedicated GPU. The QHD 240hz display is awesome and the 16:10 aspect ratio is awesome for gaming and entertainment. The fans can get loud during gaming. The webcam works great for those that work remotely. The only reason I didn't give this laptop 5 stars is because the description is not correct in some areas. Be warned, there is no Ethernet port (this would of been awesome since I have really fast internet in Chattanooga). I know some gamers will want that Ethernet port. Though, not terrible, but this listing also states there is only 1 memory port, when in reality there is 2, so you can expand beyond 32GB in RAM. I bought a 32GB stick to find out there was 2 ports when I went to install, so I ended up getting 48GB of RAM, so nice win. Make sure to fix the product description, these errors could leave to high returns for online orders.

    Blown Away

First and foremost. I am blown away by this laptop. For gaming, editing videos, pictures, and general power using it's top notch. This thing has some serious horsepower. 4070, and a i9 it's suited to take on just about any task. Any game that I have tried on it including; Baldurs Gate III, Remnant 2, Guild Wars 2, it just runs them flawlessly. The screen is amazing. Coming from a 60Hz desktop monitor, this thing is so smooth. I've barely touched my gaming desktop, as the screen seems so choppy in comparison. It's thin. It does have a bit of weight to it, but that doesn't bother me too much. Battery life is fantastic when not gaming. This laptop is easily upgraded with an extra RAM slot and SSD slot. So if you need to expand your storage you can do it. Which I do recommend you do. Now onto some not so great things. When gaming it's LOUD. some reviews have mentioned jet fighter. That's pretty accurate. It's not very bothersome for me but some might find it annoying. It also gets very warm, almost to warm to touch in certain areas. I do have a chill mat on order to remedy this however. Something that I noticed with my mine is, unfortunately upon opening it I noticed a small dent in the top ridge of the screen, and some paint missing from it. I'm not sure how that could have happened in shipping, as the laptop was packaged as it should have been. I had to take the plastic wrap off and everything. So I have no idea where it came from. The only thing I can think of is it happened during it's manufacture. It's not a huge deal, but I do wonder if it took a serious shock while being made. I guess time till tell if it craps out for some reason. Overall this thing is great, especially at the price I snagged it for. If you can catch this on sale definitely pick one up if you're looking for a portable, monster.

I'm an Apple ecosystem guy that owns a Mac Studio and Macbook Air. I bought this laptop for one reason only - to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (COD MW3). COD MW3 is the only game I play. This ROG Zephyrus runs COD at 2560x1660 (native resolution) at around 150 fps using Fidelity FCAS upscaling and Nvidia Frame Generation turned on. Its a great experience playing MW3 on this. I have it synced to my PS5 Dualsense controller via bluetooth. The build quality is rock solid and surprisingly, the trackpad is very responsive. I use the 3 finger gestures that are similar to the Mac's with no problem. The main downsides are the fan gets very loud after a few hours of gaming, the battery gets drained to near zero after about an hour and 15 minutes of playing MW3, and the bluetooth is finicky. My very expensive Bowers & Wilkins bluetooth headphones drop connection suddenly while playing MW3. Tried using my Airpods and had the same problem. Don't know if its a MW3 issue or an issue specific to the laptop. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase of this laptop for my PC gaming needs.

Overall it's a really great laptop for gaming. Only limited by it's base specs. I've upgraded my memory to 64GB and my hard drive space to 6Tb (which includes the stock 1Tb SSD, an additional 4Tb SSD NVMe 2.0, and a 1Tb sd card). The display is awesome nothing to complain about on that. There are few issues that annoy me. For some unknown reason the laptop won't power on without being plugged in. But will work just fine when connected to power cable. This happens randomly sometimes it turns on with no issue at all. Still investigating this problem. Also the sound doesn't seem all that fantastic considering the overall design. No Anime Matrix on this model even though the lcd back is designed like it is. Way too much bloatware between Windows and Asus. Keyboard lighting isn't as customizable (or at least not as user friendly customizable) as most modern led keyboards are. Battery life is bad. Unless you are only surfing the net or writing documents. The battery doesn't do much for you all, forget about gaming on battery power. Also when gaming with max setting, will hear the fans, they are LOUD. You can customize those settings, but at what cost in the long run. Oh and there's no ethernet port. so a dock or external port will be needed. Overall it's a great gaming laptop. I'm currently running Starfield and I've had no issues at all. I have no problem recommending this laptop. Just be advised Overall, it's not a bad setup

After test driving several other laptops, I finally landed on this one, and I couldn't be happier. The design is sharp - the all matte black is very sleek without screaming "gamer" vibes. The display is FANTASTIC for an IPS - bright, colorful, smooth. I tested this display next to my alienware QD_OLED and it seriously rivals it in colors and brightness. Yes the absolute blacks on oled win... but the backlight bleed isnt bad at all on this. Also I would WAY rather have matte coating in this use case (coffe shops, libraries, etc) because glossy oled is very distracting in bright environments imo. Performance: Absolute beast that easily handles any game I throw at it. Now a days with DLSS, I can push enough frames to actually get use from the 240HZ refresh. I keep it on "balanced" 99% of the time which keeps fan noise to a minimum while still maintaining cool temps. Battery : Could be better - but that's expected from the high-end components in this machine. If you game on battery, it will drain QUICK, but for browsing / youtube I can easily get 6-8 hours. Software: ASUS suprisingly didn't load this thing with bloatware (looking at you McAfee..) but ROG Armory Crate is OK for controlling things like fan speed, overclock, battery modes, etc... But if you want something more lightweight and background friendly - look into GHELPER. Thank me later.

The Asus M16 2023, purchased in open box condition, has made a very positive impression from the start. The packaging was in good condition and the box included all necessary items, such as the charger, manuals, and adapters. Despite being an open box product, the device showed no obvious signs of previous use, such as scratches or dents, which was a pleasant surprise. The design and construction of the Asus M16 2023 stand out for their robustness and elegance, using a combination of high-quality metal and plastic. The finish is impeccable, with a modern and attractive design. Additionally, it is relatively lightweight and easy to transport, making it ideal for users who need mobility. The port layout is convenient, offering a good variety of connectivity options. The keyboard is comfortable to use, with well-spaced keys and good tactile feedback, and the touchpad is precise and of a good size, facilitating navigation. The cooling system is good, a little noise under heavy load but, ensures that the device stays cool even under intensive loads. The thermal behavior is excellent, maintaining adequate temperatures during intensive use, and noise levels are minimal, contributing to a more comfortable user experience. The battery has considerable capacity, allowing for prolonged use without frequent recharging. The battery life is notable, with adequate duration both in light use (web browsing, office tasks) and in intensive use (gaming, video editing). The display of the Asus M16 2023 is impressive, with an appropriate size. The IPS panel offers excellent image quality with a high refresh rate and fast response time. The image quality is exceptional, with adequate brightness, excellent contrast, and vibrant and accurate color reproduction. The visual experience is pleasant in different lighting conditions, from well-lit environments to dark rooms. In terms of performance, the device is equipped with a high-performance processor and a powerful GPU, capable of handling demanding tasks effortlessly. The amount of RAM and storage is also generous, allowing for smooth multitasking and sufficient storage for large files. In performance tests, this laptop achieves outstanding results, excelling in benchmarks like 3DMark and Cinebench. In daily tasks and demanding applications, such as video editing and gaming, the performance is solid and trouble-free In conclusion. No significant negative aspects have been identified. The value for money is very favorable, especially considering it is an open box device, allowing for significant savings without compromising performance or aesthetics. The overall condition of the device in open box condition has not negatively affected it in any way. In fact, it has been an excellent option in terms of savings and performance, demonstrating that open box products can be a smart and reliable purchase. Note: This model doesn't have animeMatrix.

Excellent Laptop with a Few Flaws

Just to start off, this thing is amazing. It works well for everyday use along with intensive gaming. After about 2 weeks with the laptop I can only think of 2 minor flaws. First off, the thermals are not the best. It gets really hot and on games like call of duty, you better have a laptop stand otherwise you might burn a hole through your desk (kidding). With the increased temps, this will obviously result in increased fan noise. The fan noise on this laptop is loud to say the least. Luckily, the silent mode on the laptop works really well and totally eliminates almost all fan noise. You may get the occasional flare up here and there but it works really well. I can even run most of the smaller games on silent mode (such as doom) without an issue. When it comes to game like call of duty Warzone however, you will definitely need to tune the laptop fan curves in ASUS armory. Turning it on turbo does keep the temps down but the downside is the unberable fan noise. Honestly, I would take a look at manual mode and just mess around in there to find the perfect settings. Ill provide the setting I use for manual mode but note, I have not fine tuned these settings and they are just a starting point. If you can get past the thermals and the fan noise, this laptop is an amazing deal though I would definitely wait for a sale. I was able to snag mine on blackfriday for $1,500. At that price, this thing is a perfect buy.

Great cpu & screen, mid audio, overly thick

I had this laptop for a few days and decided to return it and get a smaller (and open box) G14 4060 instead. I found the laptop too thick but besides that, it was good. Pros: The screen, cpu, gpu, and keyboard were all great. The screen was bright and colors were vivid, and its high refresh rate was very smooth. The cpu and gpu were extremely fast (see timespy screenshots) and blew away my desktop i5-12400 & 3060 in every game. The keyboard was also very responsive and had a high quality feel. Cons: The gpu vram size, speakers, and overall thickness were disappointments. The gpu only has 8GB of vram and not 12GB as BB shows (and as the desktop 4070 has). I have one game whose settings had to be turned down because of this. The speakers lacked any type of bass and changing settings in the Dolby control panel didn't improve things, surprisingly the G14 is significantly better, much punchier bass that you can feel through your hands. The real dealbreaker for me was the thickness of the laptop. Be sure to carefully study the BB side pictures, the thickness range is 0.78 to 1.2 inches (see my picture). There are also plastic nubs molded in the middle bottom that dig into you if you rest the laptop on your leg. If you have a bag with 1 inch of room for this laptop, it will not fit, so just be sure to understand that it's much thicker than the specifications. Hot takes: Asus should rely on the design of the hinge that lifts the laptop to create the necessary space under the base for airflow, having these molded-in nubs and tall rubber risers defeat the entire purpose of the hinge design. Since the 4070 and 4060 laptop gpu's both have 8GB of vram, I decided the 4060 was a better deal because they are close enough in raw performance that the 4060 will be fast enough for the same set of games these two gpu's can play, and it's almost always going to be vram that stops both of them from being able to play the same set of games at the same settings. The G14 4060 TimeSpy = 10532, 9805, and 8755 in the 3 power modes for reference, compared to the M16 4070 TimeSpy = 12371, 11354, and 9030.

Great laptop, PLEASE READ and let me explain my experience. got the m16 2023 4070 from BestBuy for 350 off. great deal. but as I opened up the box of my brand new laptop I noticed it was grossly dirty. very dusty. the picture I show is when the laptop has been out of its box for 30 seconds. with this I noticed the bezel was peeling back at the bottom of the screen with DUST in that bezel. seems to be a pretty popular problem. also a lot of black light bleed. this doesn't bother me but with the other experience this really started to bug me. so I called best buy 2 days later and had it swapped out no question asked but I did make sure they labeled it defective so someone else doesn't get this laptop. the box was in way better shape. ASUS sticker was in the same spot. it was packed exactly the same. but guess what no dust. no bezel pealing, no backlight bleed. no finger smears.. Every thing I had issues with were gone. I don't get why I got something that looked so used when it should have been brand new, I HIGHLY RECCOMNED USING GHELPER instead of Armory crate. This laptop is awesome. I have a 14900k 4080 desktop, i know my pcs. This laptop is a power house. I highly recommend it. its lite. some what cool. and you can definitely tune everything. so you can always get a good playing experience with quite fans once you learn how to tune it (GHELPER) For the price. the screen is awesome. and with the iGPU and dGPU works well. I use a second monitor and it everything just works very well. I recommend this laptop. with g helper you can also tune your battery so when its plugged in you can keep it at 80% also you can use 100 watt usb c charger with no performance loss( g helper needed for this). but will discharge the battery under heavy use. but this is great as I just have that on my sofa instead of the big 280 watt chager.

Could've been a good Laptop but to many problems to be considered good. From all the problems I've had at Max it has a good processor and GPU, everything else needs to be uograded. I've only had this Laptop for six months, besides during every meeting I'm in I am constantly asked to mute myself due to the fans being so loud they make hearing anyone else impossible, I've had to start using a 9 fan cooling pad, then just to get my work Engineering work done at University on top of all that I've also had to upgrade thea ton of equiptment such as the M.2 SSD to a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB for storage and speed, also a second 990 pro 1TB mainly for storage, then also upgraded the RAM from 16GB of DDR5 DIMM to 64GB of DDR5 DIMM just to be able to use the a majority of the programs required for my coursework at University for my Engineering degree. This includes Everything from Solid Works, MatLab, iVerilog, Program Compilers for various languages, to the ADALAM2000 GUI, to the LabView program and creqting GUI'S so the program works properly to Literally every Manufacturing Program for automation in use at the Industry level; Plus every program that we are taught to use for everything from simulation to actual machine manipulation

After one month of acquiring ROG M16 Intel 13th Gen Core i9 laptop, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070. The first aspects that caught my attention were its lightweight build and sleek design, offering a visually appealing package. Despite missing out on the AniMe Matrix and Mini LED features, the screen quality remains exceptional. However, one noticeable drawback is its stability. During an outdoor usage scenario, the laptop seemed a bit shaky in the breeze, lacking the sturdiness one would hope for. On the positive side, it's worth noting that the device is prone to picking up dirt easily. Fortunately, cleaning is a breeze, requiring minimal effort and time. Boot time, on the other hand, seems to be a bit on the slower side, clocking in at around 17 seconds. While this may not be a deal-breaker for some users, it's worth considering for those who prioritize swift startup. after just two weeks of use, I noticed that FPS capped at 40 FPS across all games. Despite attempting driver updates, the issue persisted until I resorted to a complete Windows reinstallation. The battery life holds up reasonably well. From 80% to 10%, I managed to get approximately 4 hours and 35 minutes of usage, making it a decent performer.

I am amazed with this laptop, I use it mainly for work but when I have time to sit down and game, it does not disappoint. At work it is connected to a type-c charger through a dock that connects to two 27in monitors. It is efficient and does not drain the battery no matter what I am working on. On the gaming side, this screen is absolutely amazing. It truly puts some larger monitors to shame with it 2560x1600 resolution at 240hz, it is smooth as butter. I upgraded the ram as it does have two slots for ram and added another 1tb nvme for storage. I am happy with my purchase and as an avid desktop builder, this laptop can do most of the things a desktop can do but I can take it with me anywhere.

it's a good deal for a laptop with this spec at $1500 the pros: - Screen is bright and color accurate (use DCI-P3 color profile) - can run fanless but get quite warm - There is advanced optimus so it can switch to discrete graphics without restarting the laptop - the speaker is quite good if you tweak it through Dolby Access - the camera is decent for a gaming laptop and the mics are surprisingly good - Windows Hello is a nice way to unlock your laptop - the power brick doesn't get hot when playing games - easy to upgrade as the RAM is not soldered and there is an additional SSD slot - sleek design and doesn't scream gaming laptop - it won't hurt your wrist as the edges are chamfered - thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 - huge touchpad - sturdy hinge - can limit the battery to 80% which will make the battery life last longer cons: - squeaking screen when you open the laptop - the CPU thermal throttled easily - SSD speed is not the fastest available - the keyboard is not sturdy and very cheap feeling - it doesn't come with mini-LED for this spec in the US - poor battery life - cannot toggle the secondary function as the primary ones - no play/pause button from the factory - fans get loud, especially in turbo mode - lots of bloatware - not comfortable if you put it on your lap as the feet are the display - only 3 brightness settings for the backlit keyboard
