I needed a router that would cover my whole house, and one that can keep up with remote learning for two kids with surface pros, not to mention the countless other things connected to out WiFi. We have 3 WiFi extenders in our house ON TOP of the router, which makes using WiFi a struggle. Setup was pretty easy, and Now I have coverage everywhere, full strength WiFi, and no extenders! I don’t do much care for the lights on the router, and I’m pretty sure they can be turned off, but the router sits in an inconspicuous area so they aren’t seen anyways. I don’t notice any differences with WiFi6, but we only have 1 device capable of that anyways. The router sits on our main floor, and full strength WiFi is present downstairs, upstairs, the backyard patio, and to the sidewalk in the front. I walked around streaming a 4K movie and it never dropped out or buffered. This router works great

This is a beast of a router. A true beast. It performs flawlessly. With good clear direction to the router, I'm getting the same speed as wired at my modem (100mps). Now be prepared, Asus is a geek company, their setup wizard is detailed and somewhat cryptic. If you are a casual user, or new to networking, this is probably not your router. But if you are reasonably good at setting up computer gear - this thing will reward you with amazing performance. All alone, this is a great router. I have a very large ranch home, and coverage is tough. The great news with Asus - you don't have to buy a Mesh kit with nodes you don't need, or some package price that is out of line, or a heinous price for an additional node. Nope - you buy another AiMesh capable router, as many as you need. The super magic with this thing - turn on those routers, and then through the admin module, the main one finds them, configures them as nodes, and then updates their firmware. That admin module is impressive. And then let's not talk about those cool LED lights on the front of the thing. One of the best routers I have ever owned.

Finally, an AX router that actually simply "works". I have an NAS set up at home where I have multiple external HDs from which I stream my anime and other content. Netgear has a solid and beautiful interface called "readyshare" that allows you to view any HD and easily browse the content. However, I tried two different newer AX routers that just failed miserably in terms of speed and performance. I decided to try this after reading lots of positive reviews and I could not be happier. Not only is the speed consistent, but also is blazing fast and even at further distances. The only flaw with this is the external HD interface (Samba) is crap. I've got 4 HDs, each serving different content. However, this simply combines everything into a single view where it's hard to look for anything. Thus, I kept my old Netgear to used in AP mode and only for serving up my streaming content. PROs: - Fast and consistent speed - Long range. At about 800ft out, I was getting ~80Mbps. On a similar Netgear AX router (I since returned), I was getting about 9Mbps. This is with several rooms & walls in between. - Wireless auto channel mode actually does a good job picking right channel. Netgear could never get this right, so I always manually chose my own. With this router, it's hands off, no hassle approach. - You can test inbound ISP download speed directly from the interface, as opposed to hitting some URL externally. - Mesh support, though I'm not using it, but glad I have the ability should I choose too. CONs: - Networked HDs (Samba) have crappy interface and horrible to manage. - QoS really doesn't work too well. I found Netgear is better here.

I WFH and am using this as a booster for my other router on the main floor due to slow spots etc and it works perfectly. No slow downs despite multiple devices being on the network. Great buy and would absolutely recommend.

We bought this for my husbands gaming and it took a little while to get it working, but the signal is really great for the most part. Depending on where in the house our signal does lag a little. The area that we live in is a deadzone in the mountains. Overall we love it.

I purchased first the nighthawk R7000p and it started to drop my 5G signal every 2-6 hours, very frustrating because I have class online so I returned . I give this new router a try and I don’t regret getting it, super fast, cool design and the app very easy to use, I found that it has wifi QR code. No problems so far

My router kept turning off and not working intermittently. I went to Best Buy and picked this one up and WOW. I’m getting the same speeds through wifi that I’m getting through Ethernet. Incredible router!

Only had this router for a month though seems solid. My previous router was an ASUS and it died, and need a router I could setup quickly. Had new router up in about 4-5 minutes total. Seem to get good coverage all through the house even with the router installed in the basement.

I have tried for quite some time to find a mesh router that worked for me, none of them did and I tested about 10 different brands/types over the past few years. Regardless of what I did, I got about 1/3 of the speeds I should get. Customer service from one brand even told me that was normal and nothing to be concerned about :/ When my regular router died, I was on the search yet again. I happened across this mesh router from Asus, and without much hope, decided to give it a try because it doesn't look like any other mesh router. From the moment I set it up, I realized it also didn't work like another other mesh router I've tried. Immediately, I was getting speeds above what I pay for [300/30]. Four months later, this router is still performing flawlessly. I've only had to reboot it 2-3 times, and my speeds are still consistently above 300/30. I hope this router lasts longer than some I've had, but even if it doesn't, it's performance has made it worth the purchase price!

Very fast WiFi 6, which is needed with the 4K TV, new tablets, and phones, all of which are WiFi 6 capable. The signal could be stronger for a little greater range, it is being used in a 1362 sf rancher, so a little disappointing that way.

My older Asus Router died and was always very happy with the brand, so purchased this newer model. It came within a day of ordering, took it out of the box, plugged it in, and did not have to do much of anything for my Internet to be back up and running. So seamless - Love this kind of technology and every year things seem to improve to make it easier to use.

This router replaced my 4.5 year old router. I wanted to upgrade the tech and proactively replace before failure. The app makes set up super easy. It was seriously so simple and quick. Immediately, my speeds increased over 2x.
