About 2 months ago I was looking for a WIFI 6 Routers. I already knew that I wanted and ASUS. Boy was I right. This thing is powerful and fast.

So far this has been an amazing purchase! I use it with my older Asus router as a mesh node. Been getting no drops in my connections since. 2 floors. I have this on the second floor. Node is middle of stairs going downstairs. The RGB lights is a great touch. Made for a gaming set up it feels like.

This is the replacement to a spectrum router and the difference is night and day. Its simple to use and setup and the bonus is that it looks like an alien spaceship glowing in the distance.

Great internet router with awesome wifi coverage. It covers my 3 story house with no issues at all.

I recently just bought this because my modem/router both in one, was outdated (7) years now, [Just like an xbox or computer, your modem/routers get outdated as well] so in that case i had to get a new setup going, so when i did i wanted to go with a router & modem separate this time to see if i notice a difference, tbh i did, i feel like runs more smoother but thats from the router its self, the speed went from 35mps/100mps to 82/100mps the same when i upgraded to 400mps its like 332-382 mps wifi overall, (5G) while wired will get me a smooth 390 mps or at times 392-398mps lan, havemt tried messing or checking out the 2.4ghz buh the range isnt as far as you think, however their is a menu like all modem/routers to tweak it a notch, i mean i only know so much of internet (8 years) that i hardly mess with the settings unless i need to, so if you know how to pump it up and all shoot lmk aha buh i know a bit buh id rather watch videos to learn a lil sumthing but hey its a dope router , you need a modem remember that, ohhh my modem was wack no wifi lol so yeah plastic easily breakable material may withstand a kick or two, i need that 2.4ghz to go far, i love it tho best purchase ive made in a while tbh, need to stack my bread more got it when i applied for the best buy credit card, thank you all! god bless and lets gettt RAINBOW 6 Siege !

Great wifi router! This is my second, lightening got the first one.

This is actually one of the best router's out on the market in my opinion. It is 100% better than Linksys or Belken which by the way ARE actually the same company and as of this past month to me are worthless as a product and company. Now for the good stuff When Asus started making routers I actually had my doubts about them but now that I own one those doubts have been thrown out the window as a gamer this product takes the cake so to speak due to several reasons. It does exactly what they say it does on the box it comes in for one. I have 1 gig internet and it stated that it will give you 1 gig which it does the other things that make this one the 100% better than the 2 companies I mentioned is the fact of their Support team's knowledge on what to do in fixing problems and all of the rest would be due to the setting for configuration of how you what it to function Again I will state that this product is 100% better than Linksys and belkin as I have owned a Linksys for almost 5 years and their support team are nothing Compared to Asus Support and I and not being paid by Asus to say this In the picture it shows my internet speed both up and down along with the ms. All I can and will say is that should you buy this product ENJOY!!!

My existing router was getting old and it seemed to drop the wireless connections often enough for me to decide to look for a new one. After a lot of research I decided to get the Asus RT-82U based on its specs, reviews and cost. I thought about going to the Asus Rog Rapture but it was nearly twice the cost and from what I read it was just overkill for me. Overall I am pleased with the performance and wireless reach and stability of the router. I was disappointed that the router does not have the ability to update you via email or phone notifications from the phone app when a new device has joined or tried to join your wireless network. If you live in a populated area this is one feature you want to have and other router companies now support. Installation: I used the pc web based installation and it was pretty straight forward for me. I used the exact same wireless ssid and password as my old router so once it was powered up all of my devices registered with the new router. The administrative software while functional feels a bit dated. There are a lot of options but for most people it will be plug and play. I spent the most time getting my USB drive attached to the router working correctly so I could access it from any device on the lan. There are lots of videos and instructions out there that are very misleading. The simple way is to go to USB Applications > Service Centers > Network Places. In Network Places add an account user using the PC’s Device Name (must be the Device Name to work) and then add a password. When you access the drive from the pc you use the device name as the user id and the password you created. The RGB lighting in the front of router looks cool and is easy to set to your favorite scheme. After I had everything set up I did download the Asus App on my iphone and registered it with the router. The user interface on the phone app does look nicer and more updated than the web based application even though it provides the same information. Performance: I have a 750mbps from my ISP and I could easily get that from the ethernet ports on the router. Note that the Asus router’s speed test uses the Speedtest.net tool which picks the server to test with and in my case it picks a slow server which means the router indicates the speeds are much slower than what is available. You can pick another server but I don’t recommend relying on this function in the software. My wireless speeds were fairly consistent with the speeds I had with my previous router but I no longer have any dropouts. I did not configure QOS because with four of us gaming at FHD and the tv streaming 4k we never had any indication that the router was having any problems. If in the future I do have QOS issues its nice to see that there are good options especially geared for gamers.

It has been almost 2 years since I bought this router. I have this router wire connected with my PS5 and play games with little to no lag. Wifi is awesome when watching tv or going online with other devices. I also have my Asus Aimesh Wifi AX1800 connected to this router to eliminate dead zones around my house. And the plus side when downloading the Asus App, you can check who’s online, who you can block, time limits, test connections, internet traffic, connect to your aimeshes, etc. Install is very easy but setup can be a bit complex but still easy to understand step by step instructions. Thank you Asus for making a top notch router.

Glad I upgraded no more fees for me this thing gets good range in my apartment

The router is a very good router it doesn’t my TV still pauses is it is it still freezing? I don’t know what the next step to take on that if you can help me with a suggestion on how to stop that he laying on it I appreciate that. My router.
