Great router. I had an Apple AirPort Extreme that seemed to be working fine so I thought there was no need to upgrade. 2020 hit and my kids ended up doing school from home while I worked from home. While I had never experienced any issues, the kids were having connection issues during Zoom meetings with their classes. I have 1 gigabit internet speed through Comcast/Xfinity and had never seen much more than 550mbps over Wi-fi but figured it was a limitation of the devices I was using. Between seeing the low (for the plan) speeds and the kids having Zoom issues, I decided to get a Wi-fi 6 compatible router. I did a bunch of research and this was one of the highest rated ones and I had my friend, a Sr. Network Engineer, look over the specs and he was impressed by it and now wants to get one. I bought it and set it up. Setup was very easy and intuitive so the router was up and running in just minutes. The ASUS app is user friendly as well. While most devices on my network aren’t Wi-fi 6 compatible, my iPad and iPhone both are. I was able to get up to 892mbps with this new router on my phone and up to 901mpbs on my iPad Pro, both of course over Wi-fi. My kids also both have not had a single issue with Zoom meeting connections after the upgrade. This router was money well spent, especially with a smart home full of devices connected, me working from home, and my kids both on Chrome books doing school from home. If you are considering this router, I hope you find this review helpful. I would absolutely buy this router if I had it to do again. It has been running flawlessly for a few months now and has been putting our gigabit service to good use. Oh, and range... The router is located in the middle of our home and we have a detached garage which gets a nice strong signal and a detached shed maybe 100 feet from the router through a few walls and across the yard that has a Wi-fi camera mounted to it which receives a good signal and allows for streaming from the camera so I find the range to be very good.

Great router and I love the LED options, not that those are needed but it's a nice little add. My son was complaining that his new PC was slow, and I had been wanting to upgrade my router for a while and I decided on this one. It made a huge difference in speed. I don't need to reboot it like my last one and the app is super easy to use. I was able to mark my son's machine as a gaming device. There are a ton of options in the settings I don't use, but they are there if you know what you are doing and need them. I think the app is easy to use even for the non-technical people.

Awesome performance, with signal reaching easily to all of the 2500 Sq Ft of our 3 level house. The user-friendly ASUS router management interface is very appreciated for its ease of use. Not much else to say, other than if you want a decently priced router, with many features that are extremely easy to use/configure, this is the right choice.

This was one of the easiest router's I've ever had to set up. I thought the design was pretty cool too and not too hideously futuristic. It worked great for the week I used it but I was having so many issues with my cable provider that I ended up switching to fiber and using the free router the new provider provided instead. I ended up returning this but would buy again if I have to buy a router in the future.

I just bought a second one due to my first one overheating (completely my fault). I moved it to somewhere that didn’t really have air circulation. Before that It preformed beautifully for about 5 years so i decided to buy the same one. Set up is easy and speeds are great. I highly recommend this product.

From A to Z Best Buy was GREAT. An associate came to my aid immediately and after explaining my computer and streaming connection frustrations, he introduced me to 4 frustration solving routers. One was a high end model, but he had listened to my price range and the next three were in it. He explained each one, then I chose the ASUS-RT-AX82U AX5400 Dual-Band WiFi 6 Router. This ASUS-RT-AX82U router has cured my connection frustration. It was at a good price, from what I remember, easy to set up, and with 2 computers and a streaming device it hasn’t lost or buffered the signal at all. In the looks department it’s pretty cool. On the front it has two long triangles on each side of the face. They light up to several different colors every second and look similar to the Destroyer robot in

Had many routers over the years. Had Apple Extreme for the last TEN years and never rebooted it. It was that good. But times change and so does technology. After going through many latest routers from TP link and those satellite things none of them were as robust and consistent as this ASUS. The configuration is vast, and you could have your own personal cloud storage and what not. Not going to bore you with minute details you can look it up at their website. Overall, a great router with reliable performance and range and of course you could extend this with the Mesh Technology with their Ai Mesh devices too. So yes, you could extend this with Mesh technology. I got an Ai Mesh device, and it is working great in another room. But setting that up is a pain!

This router has been truly amazing, I bought this router because the one provided by my ISP was constantly disconnecting and dropping connectivity. I have had zero issues since. My speeds and reliability have been so much better. I’m also very pleased with the customization that is offered with this router. Many features offered, most won’t use but it has been fun to tinker around with settings and other features. Recently ASUS encountered some issues with security on a few routers, this router was not on that list so that was another bonus!

Bought this to replace an older linksys which stopped working out of nowhere. I love that this one has the option to make a 2g or a 5G network, as we have some electronics that are older and can olny function off of a 2G. Great range and fast speeds. We live in a rambler of about 3200 sq. Feet and the device is on one end of the house due to wiring but works great, inside and outside.

A very good Router with very long range. Its range goes outside of my house across the street. This is running wifi 6 and lower. Wifi 6 can go up to 10gb. Never a problem and it will typically run well for 4 years.. im running at 500 Mbs and testing its signal gives me 500..

I have been looking for a router that toes the line between offering a lot of features and one that takes minimal setup. I'm using the built in VPN, self hosted cloud storage , and mesh network. This router is great because it's fast, has great range, and was cake to set all up!

Instantly I noticed a difference in my phones speed, and as i went down the list of other devices they all were noticeably more reactive. I have Xfinity and used their modem/wifi combo deal. For all its worth it did the job but now i feel more like i know what my service is capable of due to this router. I’ve always loved ASUS and their products. This is one to have. My partner works from home and never has any issues and even they noticed a difference in connection quality and speed. We sometimes will have 2 tvs streaming and or gaming with cell phones on the wifi simultaneously and have no issue. Beforehand the initial Xfinity modem couldn’t handle that and the range is not powerful enough to cover 2000 sqft id say. This ASUS router allows us to go at least 30-40 feet away from our home and still see no issue. I recommend this as a great way to up your wifi game. Tons of settings and a comprehensive app that does it all for you. Even the initial setup. Super easy!

This router is amazing! Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, like a glowing stingray, but it has a very big range. I've had it for over a year and never a single issue.

Very easy to install. I love that it as an app where I can monitor my child's devices. Internet is running much faster than my older router.

This Router has been great, my internet with spectrum has been 10x better since switching from a rented router to this one. Some of my favorite features are the range of this router, the ability to upload my VPN credentials directly to the router protecting all devices on my network or only selecting the ones that I use for work, the AI mesh allowing me to extend the range, and the ability to access my router any time from the mobile app in case I am out of town for work and my wife is having trouble with the internet. The only reason I am giving this router 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had a situation in my house where I couldn't get my philips smart lights to reconnect to wifi after a power outage. after weeks of trying to get them to work and assuming it was the lights not working properly, I unplugged the router to clean up the wiring in my home office and after plugging the router back in the lights started working right again. I think there was an issue at the time with the lights not connecting to the router properly. Haven't had any issues since.

I’ve been using this router for right about a year now and I have had no issues with it. It has good range and is very fast. I ended up adding two asus mesh routers as well to extend the range to my wife’s office which is about 30 yards from our house and everything works very well. I would definitely recommend.

I must say, I am truly impressed. Its easy to set up, the speed improved to an additional 200 per speed test. My husband likes the speed more and no more lagging when he is playing games. Compatibility wise, it connected to all the devices right away. What I like about this as well is that, regardless this is connected to our main internet router, it still made an impact on speed. When it comes to range, we live in a third floor apartment and i have wifi down to the parking lot. Over all I am really happy with my purchase.
