Purchased this router a little over a year and a half ago. Super easy to set up and install. Zero problems with connection or speed with 3 other roommates. Each person has multiple devices connected with streaming, gaming, and surfing the web all going on at once with no bandwidth issues. Highly recommend this for anyone that wants a reliable product and is tired of cheap, low quality routers.

Highly recommend. Bought this for a 2-story ~2k sqft house with a detached garage. I’ve got strong, fast signal throughout my house and even in my yard/garage. Replaced 2 eero 6+ devices and both performance and range is better. Love the aimesh if I even need more coverage in the future. Setup was really easy and seems simple to do a lot of customization if that’s important.

Purchased this when we moved in order to form an AIMesh system with another ASUS router. Setup, much like with the previous router, was relatively painless. Speeds have been consistent and we have full coverage over the house.

I've found this to be a very reliable wireless router in the 3+ months that I've had it. It's been very consistent and it is faster than our old one. That being said, we've run into a few glitches I'm happy to pass on.... This is capable of using either 2.4 or 5ghz as you would expect, but the default setting had it switching automatically when needed between the two, which resulted in it primarily staying on the 5ghz... However, anytime I tried to set up a smart device that required 2.4, the setup would rarely be successful as things would inevitably switch to the wrong band and lose connection. Eventually I realized I could split things into two separate signals and have been much happier since. Another issue we've had and been unable to resolve is the lack of ability to Cast to our smart TV. This worked previously, and now only works when using YouTube, and even that occasionally has to be reconnected. Airplay still will usually work, but overall the whole thing is iffy and a constant frustration. The wifi coverage has been better throughout the house than with the old router, we are two stories, about 1500sq ft. I like the look of the router and I think the app is REALLY nice, and has a lot of features that I probably haven't even discovered how to use yet.

Awesome router! Very stable, bought a year ago and it my speeds were significantly faster. Connection has not dropped one bit unlike my Nighthawk R7000. Both cost the same but the nighthawk started dropping connection after 1 year. My apartment isn't even that large.. Only downside was this version is not as powerful as the RT-AX86U but cost is significantly cheaper.

Our 7 year old router was beginning to act finicky by freezing, operating at slower speeds than it was capable of, and exhibiting range issues in an upstairs bedroom. We did some online research and opted for the ASUS RT-AX86S with installation by Geek Squad as part of our Best Buy Totaltech membership. The results have been fabulous in comparison with our old router. No range issues at all! Operates well into the middle of the cul de sac we live on, and the speeds with basic Spectrum Internet averages around 100 MHz/second Download and 10 MHz/second Upload. The ASUS App Is easy to use and great for monitoring activity and the 15-20 devices that are connected at any given time. It can also be optimized for gaming or other types of Internet activity if desired. Highly recommend this model or others in the ASUS family. Also recommend the Geek Squad support.

Upgrading from a Netgear X4S that has been fantastic. This router has the same if not a little better range but much faster throughput if you have a faster internet connection. Able to reach GB speeds via WiFi 6 with this. The firmware of the Asus is better but honestly not in there much for it to matter.

The Asus Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 gaming router worked great out of the box. It provided fast and reliable connectivity, which improved my overall internet experience. However, it lacked some of the features I needed for my specific network setup. Unfortunately, this meant I had to return it and look for a different router that better suited my requirements. While it didn't meet all my needs, I still appreciated the router's performance during the time I used it. If you're in the market for a reliable gaming router and the features align with your needs, the Asus Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 router might be worth considering.

Great router, it's not the most complex but I upgraded from a much older asus router and this is much better, no weird behavior with attached storage and can handle a ton of devices, and it's super easy to set up

After one year this router has outlasted and outperformed the last 2 Netgear Routers I have had. Great web interface and app which are easy to navigate and configure. This router has stood up well with no issues and never needs to be rebooted. Usage is primarily heavy daily streaming of 4k content, minimal gaming and large file transfers from my office. 5GHz has dropped a few times over the course of the year, no big deal. I will absolutely buy another ASUS router when needed.

Great router, great speeds, great coverage. I've been using Asus routers for nearly 8 years and they never disappoint. I got this because I have more devices with WiFi 6 capability, and you can definitely see a difference!

I was hesitant to buy this because I usually don't use wifi except for wifi lights and such like that (Alexa, etc). But I was constantly having issues with my FIOS router where it would just drop DNS or traffic to where I'd have to recycle the connection to get on the internet from my Macbook Pro. Now my data seems more secure as I have more options to secure it with a security check.... and I was able to change the DNS (through options it suggested).... in about 8 hours since I bought it, I haven't lost connectivity once where my cable modem router did this often. Also, I set it to reboot twice a week to clear out any issues weekly.

Works perfectly so far. Memory usage at 89-90% was a little concerning at first, but doesn’t seem to be causing a problem. Seems adequate for 2300 square foot house.
