Fast and handles lots of traffic. Upgrade from an older ASUS. Functioning as the main router, with two other older ASUS as nodes (ethernet backhaul for both) on AiMesh. The only knock is directions for the AiMesh set up had to found online through google search. I wish they had better written directions included. Everytime you change your main, or add a node, at least some setting up has be done.

I had my last router for 7 years and the signal was definitely slowing down, very helpful man at bestbuy recommended this and it has been great.

I needed to update my old router and Wifi setup. I researched extensively for months. Looked at single units and mesh systems of all the major players. I have a 3,200 sqf house. My upstairs and downstairs each have an ethernet port. I wanted to have a wired backhaul setup. I did checkout many 3 band systems but some people still had an issue when using ethernet for backhaul. So I figured I would save some money and bought 2 rt-ax86s' (on sale) and use the Asus mesh software. The mesh is working great after 3 months. No drops, covers the entire house. The core processor never strains, have over 40 connected devices, works like a charm. I have 800mbs service. My ethernet desktop has consistent speed of 800 to 950 mbps. Wifi 6 phone is at 400 to 550 mbps and wifi 5 tablets at 300mbps to 400mbps. The 2 units make a perfect wifi mesh for me. I separate the 2 wifi bands. I highly recommend this wifi router.

After decades of using Netgear, I finally tried ASUS, I am very pleased with the reliability and performance so far. It is a bit harder to set up and use for me, but I attribute that to my being so used to the Netgear interface. I have had fewer problems, and better performance with this than with any prior netgear product.

Love this gaming router! I tried this one, eero 6, and tp link ax4400, in a span of 2 weeks because my internet kept dropping and I needed a strong connection for over 10 devices and specifically for my ps5 that I game on and this was the best one hands down.

THe devcie works well and is easy to setup. I did not find the app on the phone to be useful because it never got the correct code, I sent things up by directly hooking to the device from my laptop. Now I can just enter the local IP address. This made it very easy to be a second access point to my Xfinity WiFi, making a stong signal across the house.

I’m using this in conjunction with a RT-AX88U in an Aimesh system. I thought setup would be a hassle, but it was basically just plug and play. The router works great, and WiFi coverage has definitely improved. It’s also nice that the LEDs on the front can be turned off with the Asus app, which also works very well.

Works great. The associated app works great. 0 issues so far. Would recommend it!
