Not reliable long term

Sent all necessary logs to Asus but they were no help and stopped responding after a couple of email exchanges. Tried a hard reset a couple times but that didn't solve the issue. I had a previous Asus router and the same thing happened, I think that one was overheating and shutting down. I'm not sure I would buy another Asus router after this, it's a lot to spend on a device that last long.

This one is the best I've owned. No issues. Software is excellent, speed is very fast, works well with all my devices. Connected a printer and external HDD to it. Very nice.

Improved the lagging on PS4 while streaming Netflix in the other room. I like the user application setup on the computer. The WiFi range is more than enough for a 2400sqft home. Able to access it half way down the driveway.

I was happy with the performance of the older router and I liked the ASUS phone app for interfacing with the router, so I wanted to stick to ASUS family. This new router was easy (for me) to set up and get running. ASUS does make it fairly painless to get everything up and running. This RT-86S router does seem to have a stronger signal within my house, reaching from the basement to the second floor with no issues. Data speeds are very good too. The user interface with the router, via a browser, is the same and easy to navigate. I highly recommend this router for anyone who needs a good home router.
