Had Netgear/TP-Link expensive dual-band routers before, but this router has best features and network setting options & controls. What’s frustrating is intermittent Wi-Fi connection drops to home devices and phones — will be solid for days, then some intermittent drops (see smart device disconnect/reconnect warnings), then utter loss of connection taking everything wireless out. Luckily for this router I have TV/computer hardwire connected or I’d trashed it. Have kept firmware up-to-date, tried numerous suggestions on ASUS forums regarding wi-fi

Speed is great although range seems to be smaller than i expected for a router of this price and level. Signal strength is fair in a room two walls away and about 30 feet. Not a large home. Signal strength was better with an older Netgear in same situation.
