Hitting about 600mbps with this router with close range and 160-250mbps in other rooms. I also have ASUS BE96U Tri-Band Wifi 7 Router that has fantastic range, but with this little guy you (subjectively) get 85% of the BE96U performance for less than half the price. It is a real winner for smaller houses / apartments.

I cancelled my DirecTV subscription and moved to streaming only for my TV viewing. My old router could not handle the load so I upgraded to this one. I has been a great choice. I am getting a good strong signal at the far end of my house and getting 4K with no issues. Router was easy to setup and is performing flawlessly.

I paid a little more for this device than I was planning, but it was worth it. The easy setup app worked well, but it is limited for advanced configurations. The webui is where the advanced configuration is done, and requires a fair amount of knowledge of networking for advanced configurations. Solid device so far and performance is more than accepttable.

I needed a new router because my old one was no longer receiving security or firmware updates. After a lot of looking around at different ones, I got this Asus. Actually, I got two and had my computer guy set up an AI mesh to be able to reach all the way to the back patio. I chose this model because of the coverage, automatic firmware and security updates without an annual fee. So far, they have been absolutely great!!! I get perfect coverage all thru the house and backyard. And the WiFi 6 is a huge upgrade for me. With my internet provider, I am paying for a speed of 300 Mbps and I'm averaging 370 Mbps. Even my old Galaxy s10 phone is getting 370, as are all my various tablets, including an older Amazon Fire. And my Roku Ultras are getting twice the speed they were before. Everything loads fast with no buffering. So far, I'm very happy with these routers.

After reading many great reviews on this router I decided to try it out. This thing never appears to lose signal. I was having to reset my older ASUS router all of the time, but this one has had no issues. The signal is stronger too, so it goes to the other end of our 1800 square foot house with ease. It has been able to handle around 18 devices connected at once without issue. The app covers many different functions, and may not be all encompassing, but it is a pretty robust app. My favorite thing about the app is being able to categorize each device that is connected, and then prioritize traffic based on those categories. I think this is an overall awesome router, even without the newer Wi-Fi 6e or 7 functionalities. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this router again.

I have been using an Apple Aiport Extreme router for years. My internet speeds always seemed low, but I never did anything about it. Long story short, a speed test showed that I got great speeds when I plugged my Mac's ethernet cable directly into the modem. When I plugged it into the Airport Exteme, I was getting less than half the speed I should have been getting. After doing research, I came up with this router. Installation was simple. You turn off the modem, connect the router, turn it on, and install it through a mobile app. I couldn't believe how easy it was. And now I'm getting wi-fi speeds of 570 Mbps on a 500 Mbps account. That's in the same room as the router. At the other end of the house, it's about 466 Mbps. I'm not a gamer. Maybe this router is overkill. But it was a great purchase.

This router is the bomb. I highly recommend this product. It has great range, and superb signal through walls. It is paired with an Arris 6190 modem. I have a 400Mbps Xfinity cable plan. I get a solid 475Mbps on 5GHz, and an outstanding 125Mbps on 2.4 GHz for numerous peripherals. It’s great for gaming and streaming simultaneously. I had the house painted and moved it into a 1st floor entryway closet. The signal is as strong as if it were in the middle of the house (1st floor). And it will remain in the closet out of sight. Note: This setup replaced a Netgear Nighthawk that stopped working just after the warranty expired. It is now an expensive paperweight that I cannot return.

The router gets to my entire apartment and had no interference or delay due to a lot of IoT devices I own. Easy to setup and did it with very minimal effort. Also the router app is very cool to use especially if you want to control what could be accessed or limit your kid’s Internet usage. Snapped it for $150 with deals and rebates and definitely worth the buy.

I have two of these forming a mesh internet. The system has been running with both for about a month and it’s stayed up and running and delivers good performance. The setup for two routers was extremely easy one button on the phone. I was able to divide into multiple subnets and keep the internet of things on their own subnets, this has made the system really stable.

So far it's great. I upgraded from a 2013 model Asus with similar price point for the year. This is a nice upgrade and faster. I bought the Zenwifi AX3000 and it would not really work right. This one is faster than the mesh all over my house. Backyard and furthest point from the router I get around 300mbps out of 1000 up and down. In the house its 800 to 400 mbps. The Zenwifi was rarely above 400 mbps and in the backyard it was around 30 mbps. Overall, good upgrade, Definitely recommend over the zenwifi which is around this same price point. This has more features also.

Ultimate Gaming Router? Asus RT‑AX86U Pro Wi‑Fi 6

The Asus RT‑AX86U Pro is arguably one of the best Wi‑Fi 6 routers on the market: offering blazing speeds, gamer-first tools, robust security, and future-proof mesh compatibility. If you're not yet ready for Wi‑Fi 6E and need strong all-around performance, it's a smart investment—especially at ~$200–250. Just be aware of its size, dual-band limitation, and modest USB options.

Works flawlessly! Easy to install as part of mesh network and hand off between the two Asus routers is perfect. I use a hardwire cat 6 for backhaul. Download the Asus App and you can easily manage your routers performance.

This Asus Wi-Fi router is feature rich while still being easy to use. Where I have had to make special configuration changes, the router was already se up to do that easily. Port forwarding was easy and I didn't even need to know the ports I needed to open. The router had a configuration ready for me to choose and activate. I especially like being able to turn off the lights. There are enough blinking lights in the world and having the option to turn the lights off on this router was seriously refreshing.

Coming from a 2015 AC model Asus router, the AX-86U has been an incredible improvement. Range is better, throughput is better—everything is better. Before, I had one niche case where streaming games from my PC to a tablet had a slight stutter, and that is gone. While I'm not a true power user, the admin control and app are intuitive and easy for monitoring traffic, updating firmware, and applying custom settings.
