Better than all of my previous Netgear routers.

Super fast and reliable router. This is my first ASUS router as I have owned nothing but Netgear routers in the past. So far, I am impressed. The router is able to handle the 30+ devices I currently have on my network, maintains super fast internet speeds on the 5G channel, and I really like the UI on both the app and browser login; very comprehensive and rather user friendly. HIGHLY recommended router.

I bought this rather than jumping to 6E. I was using an Asus wifi 6 router, but i was only getting around 400 Mbps even when standing next to my router. This router pushed that up to around 800 Mbps. I was also able to use my old router as a mesh node since Asus supports Ai Mesh. Overall, very pleased. I’ll jump to 6E or wifi 7 when devices are more readily available.

We needed to replace our previous ASUS router, as it was damaged by a power storm. I searched on the Best Buy app, purchased this one, picked it up curbside, and had it up & running in minutes. Setup was easy, range is perfect for our home, and we are thoroughly enjoying the WiFi.

Upgraded from an old RT-AC68U which is/was still working fine, but we are starting to bring WiFi6/E devices in the home and added Blink cameras to the property and wanted a faster more capable solution. It works just as well as the old one but faster. Looking forward to what Merlin does with the firmware. If you know, you know.

Purchased this router in November and have been using it for over a month. Setup and configuration was easy and fast. Recommend keeping the 2.4 and 5.0 Ghz bands separate (default setting is to combine them and let the router determine which band to run on). Did some testing and found that the 2.4 was defaulted to most often and significantly limited bandwidth speeds during download and upload testing. By keeping 5.0 Ghz separate, can connect to 5.0 band and ensure bandwidth capability is maximized. Router ping time was consistently low/phenomenal and download/upload speeds maxed out my current 500 MBPS fiber internet plan through our provider. My only regret is that this router does not come with wall mounting capability and must be placed on a flat surface - I had to modify my communications wall panel to include a horizonal flat shelf to hold the router.

I have had several ASUS routers in the past and this one is the fastest and most reliable of them all. It has a fast quad core processor that can easily handle all 60+ devices that I have connected to it. I can see a significant difference in how fast it receives and sends data to our iPads, phones, IP cameras, streaming devices, game consoles, TVs and many other devices that we have. The user interface is well organized and similar to other ASUS routers. It has features that are for novice to very advanced users. For the most part, you don't need to make any changes to the default settings except, like all wireless routers, you configure your wi-fi network names and keys - both 2.4 and 5 GHz. You should also change the default router login name and password. For this router you do that in the Administration section and then select the System tab. I highly recommend this excellent router!

I decided to simplify our home wifi and go back to a single router rather than a mesh system. Less complicated, and possibly faster unless you use a wired node for your backhaul. I'm pleased to say that this router easily services two floors and every corner of the house--at least in the 2.4ghz band. My smart devices have had a difficult time though, and for a while, certain phones would not stay connected to the 2.4ghz network (I opted to separate them, for the very purpose of making it easier to connect 2.4ghz smart devices). For about a week now, though everything seems stable. Mysteriously. There are too many wifi standards out there, and too many variables involved in troubleshooting connectivity problems... and smart devices like bulbs still have a lot of evolving to do. Like most Asus routers, this unit has quite a lot of settings. This can be good and bad, depending on what you need to do in your environment. Maybe someday there will be wifi config AI's who can sort it all out!

Easy install with the ASUS iOS app. Plug and play is the name of the game for this 73-year-old Access to the router is easy peasy, and the reboot time is minimal compared with my leased router. Its performance has been flawless with 10 devices currently connected. I'm on Fastwrye Fiber. Good Luck

I recently tried the AX5700 and, unfortunately, it didn’t meet my needs. Despite its solid specs, I experienced inconsistent speeds and occasional connectivity drops, making it unreliable for my setup. The router was easy to set up, but it just didn’t deliver the performance I expected. Ultimately, I returned it because it wasn’t worth the hassle for my usage. However, it could still be a good option for someone who doesn’t require high speeds or rock-solid connectivity—perfect for basic browsing or light usage. Just be aware of its limitations before purchasing.

I've been using another brand for some years now but when that one gave out I decided to try something different and I was not disappointed so far. Although I've only had this item in the loop now for a few weeks I find that there is more control and consistency with connections for all my smart devices and tablets and computers and you name it. It was easy to set up and getting into the router to change how things run was great and there are so many choices on how to use it that it made it easy to get the configuration I needed and wanted. Connecting my external hard drive was a little cumbersome but once connected it had a stable connection and works great, Overall it's working great for my needs at this time and I hope it continues to run well into the future.

Easy to set up. Great and simple user interface. Like all the asus routers. Recently upgrade from a asus RT-AC68U. It has served it's time. A little pricey for what it is, but I do feel better about buying something newer.Range seemed to have shortened by one bar toward the back of the house but it seems fine.

Rock solid stabile in the first few months so far. Using successfully with CenturyLink and their PPPoE login-required fiber termination box. Stock firmware is pretty good (web browser interface). iPhone App is pretty good too. And I don’t need to create a user account with the manufacturer (like Netgear was trying to make me do). Great community support forums and Asus website’s FAQ articles. And I’m considering the Merlin firmware, which (1) is stabile and reversible. And (2) it’s approved and warranty-friendly by Asus. (Other routers I’ve owned tend to have confusing and possibly risky 3rd-party firmware.) Range is perfect for my modest needs so far. But it’s also Nice that Asus allows each WiFi router to act as a main hub OR a “mesh” node, so it should be easy to expand the reach my network later.
