Basic, enough for a casual person

Wireless N, and 2.4G are both outdated technologies, but are good enough if you want to go for something cheap and need a wifi connection. The router has a great control panel with a bunch of settings, and makes it a great value for the price. If you can afford it though, you should consider something a little more expensive, with at least Dual Band 2.4G and 5G signals for the best coverage possible. Unfortunately it wasn't what I thought I was ordering at first, so I returned it. Doesn't change that the product was fine though.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.dont buy its cheap and difficult to setup. i bought for my garage for a roku stick,i have a ethernet wire out there just needed wifi .It was difficult to set up only works after you register it .this took me over an hour as the asus website is difficult and confusing to use , every link does not work .After I got it working found out there is NO PASSWORD ,so unsecure network .Spend the extra money get a netgear

Great for home smart devices

My smart devices (outlets, lamp, door lock, etc.) would not connect to the 2.4GHz side of my normal router since it has both 2.4 & 5GHz. Works great.

I'm truly sorry to hear that the router is unable to handle traffic. This must be frustrating, are you using it as a repeater? Repeaters are network devices operating at the physical layer of the OSI model that amplify or regenerate an incoming signal before retransmitting it but once there is huge amount of traffic on the network, each device will be affected.
Another factor that can affect the performance is RF interference.
Please ensure that you meet the requirements below:
Place the wireless router at the center of area for the maximum wireless coverage for all network devices.
Keep router device away from metal obstructions and direct sunlight.
Keep router away from Wi-Fi devices with 802.11g or 20MHz only, 2.4GHz computer peripherals, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, transmitters, heavy-duty motors, fluorescent lights, microwave ovens, refrigerators, and other industrial equipment to prevent signal interference or loss.
