I have an asus laptop which I love and always travel with it but wanted something smaller. I have been looking at the T100 for awhile now and we finally got it a couple weeks ago. It's easy to carry in my purse and I love that the keyboard detaches so easily. Battery life is wonderful. I would carry it anywhere and would definitely buy this again.

Battery life is very good, love the detachable keyboard. Love that it is Windows 8 and includes Office. Good for travel - I have installed my reader apps and can read my books, and you can install iTunes and listen to your music because it is a true Windows device, not Android.

    Netbook replacement

I bought this as a replacement for an 2010 Acer Netbook. I was looking for something that had a long battery life and could run Ms office and this fits the bill perfectly. I was amazed at how far it started up and shut down in comparison to my old netbook. I was also impressed with the different apps ability to sync my info from outlook, onedrive/skydrive (or whatever they are calling it today) and even Google products. (For some reason I expected Microsoft to bad at using apps and cloud computing) as far as the dimensions go is pretty much the same size as a netbook or chromebook. It seems heavier than you might expect for the size but not unreasonably so. I use the keyboard often but even so I find myself using the touchscreen much more than I thought I would. The main reason for that is the mouse pad is pretty terrible, I mean almost useless. I end up swiping screens all the time by accident. Which brings me to windows 8. It's not as bad as you may have heard but it is a fairly steep learning curve for some raised on the traditional versions of windows. It took an entire weekend to get any kind of comfort level with it and I still have to stop and think my way through things like finding the file menu or adjusting the brightness level. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking at chromebooks or budget laptops.

Very easy to setup and use. The battery life lives up to the brochure claims. Nice that it comes with MS Office for the price. I have a large workstation at home for design work and the ASUS proves to be a nice companion when I go on the road. Once you get the hang of Windows 8, it is easy to navigate and use with or without the detachable keyboard. If the screen resolution was 1920x1080 this would be a solid 5. But I knew that going in and the price was good for what was offered.

I was looking for a tablet that I could do school work on. the tablet I was looking for had to be able to run the software needed for my classes. after comparing many different ones, I decided to go with this one. It has windows 8 full version so I can run any program my computer runs. It is quick, I have of yet to see any lag. I stream Netflix fairly easy, internet is fast, it runs my programs for school, and I even installed a few games and still no lag. another good point is that it comes with a full version of office 2013 and I love that it has a detachable keyboard.

This was a great value at first, Windows 8.1, Office, etc.. however almost immediately I had problems with power and volume buttons on the tablet falling behind the case (I had to pry these out with a small screwdriver), the power cord being loose/wobbly, and the wire fraying. However the worst thing was when I was holing the tablet reading one day and while getting up the mere pressure of my thumb cracked the screen. Now 1/3 of the touch screen doesn't work and I have to use the tablet with the mouse pad if at all. I'm not some giant buff dude either, seemed like normal use and in no way felt like I put a lot of pressure on the screen, but of course it is not covered under warranty. Kinda disappointing because other than quality-wise it was a great purchase.

I'v.e had this for about two weeks and haven't had much time to play with it, but the time I did have it seem to be a good little computer / tablet. One of it's advantages is it runs a full version of Windows 8 as well as Microsoft Office. It has both a Micro SD Slot and a fast USB 3.0 slot to download or upload Files.

So far I am enjoying this Asus transformer computer/tablet. It is very fast for a small unit... with a MUCH better Atom processor than most mini-computers. Love... the detachable screen to use as a tablet!!! Full MS Office, adobe, flash player, and more. I have had some issues with the power-on! Sometimes I have to hold the power button down for 10 sec., release, and then hit the power button again. A few times I've had to repeat this process 2-3 times, bummer!!! The mouse pad is another item they could work on. It's to sticky, not sensitive like a full size laptop. Well, those are the only issues I've had- and even knowing them... I would buy it anyway... I recommend this as a good unit to make minor - moderate corrections or adjustments to a project already in started, web search/browsing, lightweight and compact, decent battery life and doesn't get hot with extended use. The base gives a 3.0 USB port, with a micro flash drive input on the tablet to increase the memory or to download items from other sources! If they had a 4.5 Star, I would have given it that! Worth the money for the purpose of use.

I got this so my 10yo daughter could do school work but sill have the convenience and (peer pressure) cool factor of a tablet. The cool factor means she takes it out to use it more often and is becoming more familiar with the features of a laptop. It also comes with a Microsoft Office Student version, so she has Word, Powerpoint, and other programs she needs to do school work. Windows 8 means it takes quite some getting used to for adults, but gladly children adopt much quicker! The great thing about Windows 8 is that any program with a .exe extension could be run on the platform (no need to download only tablet apps from the store). Because it is essentially a computer, I also loaded Webroot anti-virus, etc. on it and would recommend to anyone (don't get fooled into thinking it's JUST a tablet and doesn't need it!). I try to always monitor her usage on line but the mobile form factor makes that a challenge sometimes. Another excellent thing is that I could use Windows 8 to lock down the Internet browsing features so she cannot go to any adult content sights, even if accidentally doing a Google search for words that have dual meanings (presumably), so I feel better about her using it in a different room when I cannot directly monitor her usage.

I love this product. I really do. Very compact and versatile. I was skeptical about the brand ASUS, but it fits me fine. I had to use an external cd drive to load music. I also used the xbox music passport. I haven't figured out how to add movie files from dvds. When I need to use it, its easy to open ad get started right away. I really like that this product was paired with Microsoft's Windows 8.

Brilliant display and responsive touch screen. Not the fastest machine I own, but nearly the most portable and definitely the longest battery life. It's great that it has USB3 connectivity in the keyboard/base. It is great for traveling and using as a supplemental machine in my office.

This tablet/netbook does all that I was hoping it would do. It is easy to transport and be available on the go. Built in keyboard is a bonus even if it is a little small for me. Wifi works well and I have found that the functionality of both tablet and netbook have been convenient features that I use often.

In short, I wish I had gotten an iPad. I wanted the keyboard aspect, but I didn't realize how much I would be sacrificing regarding the touch screen. There are many times, especially when on a website filling out forms, picking dates on sites such as tripadvisor.com, and within other sites, that the touch screen does not seem to "take" the data and I have to switch to the keyboard and trackpad. The keyboard and trackpad are easy to use, it's just kind of a pain switching back and forth. But the mouse pointer doesn't always seem to work well for scrolling, so I use the touch screen, therefore having to switch back and forth. It also sometimes switches to another screen when I am in the middle of something if I touch the screen wrong. Doesn't have many apps unless you go to google apps or something.

The price was better than anything else in its class. It is real windows and not windows RT. The detachable keyboard is a real plus. I like the fact that it comes with windows programs installed. The first unit I got stopped working within a week (on-off switch would not function). I hope this one does better as I really like the computer.

I bought the unit at 4pm yesterday and charged overnight. I turned it on and set up everything this morning. After about an hour of use, I got a message saying that I only had 5% battery left and should plug in the charger. I plugged in the charger -- the battery icon said "5% available (plugged in, charging)". After 30 minutes of charging it was down to 2%. After one hour it was down to 0%. It wouldn't run at all without the charger plugged in. Heading back to BestBuy this morning for a replacement, which I really hope will meet all my expectations.

This computer is better than people imagine. Yes - it is even a poor man's Surface 3!!! It is a laptop and a full a windows tablet. Coupled with a 64Gb Micro SD Card it becomes very useful - especially as it has Microsoft Office included. The 64Gb version is better for me as I have too many programs to install. It runs faster than you might imagine for such a small price - and the battery lasts a long time - much better than any other laptop. A great computer!!!

I did my research in the 300-500 dollar range and found this gem really stood out. I wanted a device I could use to hold my Bible library and still have room for my music videos ( I can also play SimCity using a microsim card). I got that along with a full Windows8 version and Microsoft Office to boot. Maybe next year I'll get an iPad Helium, but I'm in love with my T100 today!

I need to upgrade my old laptop and wanted something small and light, this computer was what I was looking for. I like the how it can detach from the keyboard and turn into a tablet. It is very portable as well. It may not be very powerful as a 'real' laptop but it does what I need it to. Took a bit to get use to the Win 8 processor but love it now especially with the Touchscreen. If you have large hands the keyboard won't do well for you. It was also in my price range and I didn't want something bulky

I bought this hybrid computer to use as a student at school and also to watch Netflix while on break at work. It is a very easy to use, versatile product. I love the fact that the tablet snaps right into the keyboard with such ease. Also, the keyboard has raised keys so it feels like typing on a desktop computer. Although the keyboard was much smaller that I am used to, I found no difficulty in using it. The screen quality is excellent. I haven't used the camera as of yet, but I predict it takes excellent pictures. My one complaint is it doesn't have a rear facing camera, but I tend to use my cell phone for pictures anyhow. Another plus is that it comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office Student. I would definitely recommend this to my friend's and family!
