Good power, is able to run high settings on most games. Battery life is not great needs to be plugged in after about 2 hours of light use and one hour of gaming. Advertises long battery life but does not deliver on that aspect. Makes up for battery life with good specs for a relatively low cost.

First Impressions The packaging was above and beyond. The outer shipping box was damaged on one corner, but the laptop was in a secondary box, well padded with bubble wrap, so even though there was damage to the outside packaging, the inside was in perfect condition. This inside packaging is also very nice, like a briefcase, even with a handle, to the point where you could even save it and reuse it when moving your laptop around. Upon taking the laptop out of the box, even in this secondary packaging, it was extremely well protected. Removing the protective cover reveals a very attractive embossed outer case. I was quite pleased with the appearance. After removing the laptop, there were a couple of chambers underneath it where the power supply and cord were held. They seemed pretty free to flop around, but were also wrapped with a protective covering. Laptop has a nice complement of ports available, including a Thunderbolt port. Full HDMI port, and a Full Ethernet port. On powering it on, the backlit keyboard came on. Multicolor at that. So, quite a nice looking keyboard, and the WASD keys are highlighted for gaming. The hinges to either side look a bit delicate, but seem to work ok. They are all the way on the outer edges. While they look delicate, they do also look cool. Below the lower bezel of the display there is an open space when the laptop is open. It really makes it look different to other laptops. It also gives it a unique appearance when closed. Also, the bezels, at least on the top and sides, are really quite thin. There is a little bit of a pop out on the top where the camera is to create the extra space needed for the camera. The keyboard actually has an extra column of keys to the right hand side, so it is actually physically wider and fills the whole space compared to other laptops I have seen with the same screen size. This was a nice touch. The space is there, might as well use it. There is also a short extra row of keys on the top left hand side of the keyboard for quickly accessing media controls. Again, nice touch. The space is there, might as well use it. I also like how the ESC key is nice and prominent and separated from the rest. I use VIM for editing, so I use the ESC key a ton, and it is nice to have a real escape key. Maybe some people won’t appreciate the significance as much as I do, but I really appreciate it. So all in all, my first impressions unpackaging it and powering it on for the first time are really quite positive. It has some screen printing on the inside, High frame rate zone. I mean, I could do without that, but it is a gaming laptop, and that isn’t something they are trying to hide here. While I don’t really appreciate these more “I am a gaming laptop” highlights, my kids do. Despite being substantial in size, it doesn’t feel too bulky. It is bulkier than a current modern day 2 in 1, but compared to gaming laptops of old it almost feels svelte. Setting it up Once powered up, and skipping past all of the Microsoft offers, It offered to restore my latest backup from my laptop, but I opted instead to do a new install. Logged in with my Microsoft account and set a pin. Performance It handled everything I could find in my steam library at 1080P resolution. I do not apparently own a game that this cannot handle and handle well. It is still reasonably affordable compared to a top tier gaming laptop. They have made a few very acceptable sacrifices to meet this price point. An i7 vs an i9 The 4070 card, has suitable performance. It seems to play everything I have. Unless you want higher frame rates and resolutions, the 4070 should be good enough. To move up to a 4080 will involve a significant price increase over this. Also, the 1TB storage provides adequate room for storing multiple modern day games. Even 1 TB at this point, while sufficient, is still not a ton of room with the size of games today, but it is an acceptable concession. The battery life isn’t great compared to non gaming laptops. You are probably not going to be working all day on this thing without plugging in. It generally gets me through the morning, but I often find myself reaching for the charger, even when I am not gaming. The charger itself is pretty substantial. Sure, I have had bigger, but it reminds me where power supplies got the nickname bricks. It kind of comes with the territory if you want the added performance that a gaming laptop can provide you. Display The display seemed good for my use case. It was clear and bright enough for my work environment. Not a touch screen, but I personally have never had much use for touch screens on laptops, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Conclusion All in all, I quite like the form factor. It seems well built, has appealing aesthetics, and even at its full MSRP, seems fairly priced for its features and when on sale it is a good value. The video card can play today’s games, and should provide some insurance for a year or two for new games as they come out. This isn’t the cheapest gaming laptop out there, and it certainly isn’t the most expensive, but it has the features needed to play currently available games, without breaking the bank. I think this is a good compromise between cost and performance. It gives you good performance today, but shouldn’t leave you needing to upgrade next year when something new comes out that this can’t handle at all. All this wrapped up in a very attractive chassis makes this a win win in my book. Conclusion Highly recommended

This isn’t my first ASUS laptop but it is my first TUF gaming laptop, and I really like everything about it, especially the durability! My on-the-go gaming setup just became a lot more worry-free with the durable ASUS TUF Gaming F15, and I couldn't be happier. Beyond the durability, I can say that after using this for just over a week it’s easily met and even surpassed my expectations. The laptop arrived securely packed in fully recyclable cardboard packaging and reached me in perfect condition. Setting everything up was straightforward and no different than any other laptop. I let it charge for a while before setting it up and then I followed the standard Microsoft setup, installing the necessary updates and copying over files from another laptop. The process was smooth, and I was ready to play games within minutes. Something you always want when you get a new laptop, instant satisfaction! :) The ASUS TUF F15 Gaming laptop features an Intel Core i7-13620H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, coming together to create an ideal system for gaming and multitasking. I’ve tried an array of content and tasks, from games to movies, photo and video editing and some stress tests based on my needs. The F15 passes all of my tests and performs great! The processor and GPU are supported by the 16GB of DDR5 RAM to ensure smooth performance, and the 1TB SSD is the perfect amount of storage for my needs. I’m really impressed with this laptop build quality and I think it stands out from competing brands in all the best ways! The F15 has a military grade toughness that has to survive a rigorous battery of MIL-STD-810H tests to earn its name. According to ASUS this means that tested devices are exposed to drops, vibration, humidity, and extreme temperatures to ensure product reliability. This laptop was built to be dependable in even the harshest conditions and capable of withstanding the accidental bumps and knocks of everyday life. So, not only is this great for travel, it's a good option for some kids or teens, who may not always treat a laptop with the best care. I’m also really impressed with the overall design and look of this laptop. From the industrial/futuristic looking Mecha Grey finish to the customizable RGB backlit keyboard, this laptop is really cool and fun to look at. The transparent WASD keys are made to be easy to locate in your peripheral vision during intense gaming sessions, and it works! The laptop does weigh just a bit more than I was expecting, but I also wasn’t expecting such a durable build. I’d take a few extra ounces of weight for a stronger laptop build, any day! The 15.6-inch FHD display with a 144Hz refresh rate really looks great and provides a stunning visual experience. The colors on screen are vibrant, and the adaptive sync technology means that your gameplay is smooth without any screen tearing. Gaming on this laptop feels immersive, and the high refresh rate makes a noticeable difference when gaming. One of the standout features that ASUS brags about is the dual 84-blade Arc Flow Fans which they say keeps the laptop cool, even during long gaming sessions. Well, I can happily report that their claims are valid and the cooling system works really well without producing excessive noise. The battery life is pretty decent for a gaming laptop with about 4-5 hours of light use and I’d say close to 3 hours of non-stop gaming. And with the fast-charging feature I can take a break and get back to gaming quickly. The audio quality is good, thanks to the Dolby Atmos support. The sound is rich and clear, making gaming and movie-watching enjoyable. As I said in the beginning, this is my first TUF laptop and I really like it a lot. It’s a fantastic gaming laptop that delivers high performance, a strong and durable build, and an enjoyable gaming experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, reliable and most importantly, durable, gaming laptop.

This is not my first ASUS gaming laptop. I had a positive experience with my last one so I was excited to try one of their newest models. I was not disappointed. Pros: - This model has the RTX 4070 GPU from NVIDIA, an instant and game-changing upgrade from the 4060 in my previous laptop. With the power of the GPU (and 8GB of onboard RAM), coupled with 16GB of system RAM, I was able to run every game in my Steam library at max settings. For the most demanding games, I switched the GPU to "Ultimate" mode in the Armoury Crate dashboard. I found the full HD display to be pleasing to the eyes with the matte finish minimizing glare. - Speaking of the Armoury Crate, I find it to be a terrific dashboard to monitor and customize your experience. It is your home to toggle preset display settings (for people like me that don't like to fine tune things myself), tweak the Aura settings (you can add additional lighting devices to sync with your laptop), monitor temps, etc. - The 1TB solid state drive helps keep boot/load times to a minimum. I don't plan on ever using a hard drive again. The trade-off here is that 1TB storage can fill up quick for gamers. So you'll want to expand or have another option if you plan to keep many games installed at once. - I liked the types and amount of ports included. Many laptops these days may provide 2 or fewer USB ports, while this model gives you two USB-C (with one providing fast charging) and two classic USB-A ports. It's nice to know that I will not need to use a USB hub for accessories. There is also an Ethernet port (which is not always common in laptops these days). - I really enjoyed the keyboard design, especially with the 4 specialized keys at the top to control volume, muting, and to launch the Armoury dashboard. Cons: - At nearly 5 pounds, this laptop is not extremely portable. But that is a welcome trade-off for the durability of the build as you want an investment like this to be protected, especially if you are transporting it. - The battery, like most gaming laptops, will not last very long when gaming. Be prepared to have it plugged in unless you are using it for basic daily activities. If you aren't gaming, then you will get closer to the advertised 8 hours of battery life. This is a terrific gaming laptop with a high end GPU. In my opinion, it's worth the extra cost over cheaper options to get the RTX 4070. I was blown away with its performance. If this laptop is within your budget, it's a terrific buy.
