A solid performer. I got it on sale for $600, and it's definitely worth that. The 8gb of RAM bottleneck it a little, but it still performs well on at least medium-high settings with everything I've thrown at it. Even managed to run Star Citizen passably well, though the 8gb are really felt there. I did replace the 256gb SSD with a 500gb I had lying around. It's got the excellent quality I've come to expect from Asus, and all in all I'd recommend it.

It's an awesome laptop for the price. I made an order online and it came damaged though so the webcam doesn't work properly [it doesn't detect it at all] and it also blacks out and turns off any time you connect or disconnect it from the power source. I don't know if these are general performance issues or if they are related to transit but will be going to the store later today to see if I can't exchange to a properly working model. As for my games it does a phenomenal job playing everything I've run on it so far and I'm not a light gamer. Doesn't seem to hold a charge very well but if you were looking for a laptop to hold a charge this wouldn't be the first one you'd be inclined to purchase anyway. If you're looking for a moderately great gaming laptop look no further! Plus the lights are awesome and it looks quite heavy duty too ;-)

surprisingly powerful machine. purchased with the intent of occasional gaming, 3D simulations (fluid mechanics), 3D graphing, 3D design. Has not failed at any of the aforementioned tasks yet. Runs most games in high specs (occasionally mix of medium to high specs). Fans work perfectly, and even when taken to its theoretical limits, they are not as noisy as I would have expected. All in all, a solid device.

Great budget laptop that meets the minimum requirements for all my son's gaming needs

This is just a gaming laptop for one of my sons. His dog broke his other one which was was made by ASUS but he loves this new model. Granted he's not a serious gamer but for him it is perfect! the price point was super! He loves the illuminated keyboard! For school he uses an apple which really is not built for gaming. I would recommend this laptop for anyone thats a mid level gamer whole heartedly!

Bought this on Black Friday as a Christmas present for my step son and it's great for the price paid. It's worth it at full price. The screen is nice, the ssd performance is as expected, and the keyboard feels great. This laptop is great for anyone looking for an entry, budget gaming laptop. I'm sure there are compromises considering the price, but I think asus really nailed it on this one.

So, while I'm just getting around to reviewing this, i feel the need to say that this laptop is great. I've been using it near constantly sonce i got it and I've yet to run into any real issues with it. The only problem ive reaaly had with it is the storage but thats an easily fixed problem. If you qant a laptop that works i recommend this one.

Wow!!! what a great laptop for $599 dollars. let me say its powerful, great temps, pretty good battery life, looks very nice, great build quality. im very impressed with this laptop. Buy it, you wont regret it.

This laptop is exactly what I expected from a gaming pc. It does everything I want quickly. I like that it has turbo mode for heavy gaming, or silent when I'm just doing office work. It runs everything I need seamlessly and is light enough to hold in my lap for extended periods. I expected good things in all categories from this machine and Asus really delivered.

I got this Laptop for $599 which was a steal at that price. It has a secondary slot for a NVME SSD, 4 RAM slots for 32 Gbs, and a regular SATA slot for a SSD or HDD. I got this laptop for work and gaming purposes and has not disappointed. Only complain is the small ribbon cable they provide to connect the SATA SSD. Other than that, this laptop is worth its price.

Cool laptop. The keyboard and the screen is big and nice. Not touch screen and doesn't have a memory sd slot but that's okay. I use it for work to write the schedule and use it for research. A bit pricey, got it on sale for $659, glad I did. Not sure why it wouldn't have an SD slot but its a nlvery nice laptop. Screen could be better but I like it so far. First big gaming laptop I have owned.

Very good purchase, best quality, good price, good for gamers.

This was for my grandson for Christmas, I was thinking it would be a great system for him. My problems with it are that it discharges so quickly, down to 10% in over an hour, and constantly has to be plugged in. Also the fan is quite loud and runs quite a bit, so to me, these really take away from an excellent rating.
