Add 2nd ram, and it won't boot up!

I bought another 8GB ram DDR4-3200 SODIMM 1.2V CL22. After I installed it to the 2nd slot, it powered on, but with a blank screen and didn't go anywhere!! If I remove the original installed ram from 1st slot and put in the new ram, it would work, so this is not new ram problem. Whenever 2 ram slots are occupied, it has this not booting issue! I couldn't even boot into the BIOS. What is the point of having 2 ram slots, but can not use both at the same time! Very disappointed.

The unit uses DDR4(3200MHz) Dual Channel memory, the new RAM may not be compatible with the RAM already in the device and it would be best to purchase a kit of RAM to ensure there is no compatibility issues. Bought it as a Christmas gift for my son. It overheats like crazy, the laptop microphone on has a low pickup you have to speak really loud to get 60%, with microphone input adjustment from windows boosted. This issue persists with the 1/8" microphone jack that has the same problem with sound. Tried several headsets and gaming microphones with the same jack all have not worked on this laptop. USB headset works fine, but with the limited usb ports the reason why I need the 1/8" jack. The overheating on this laptop is so bad it has Warped the keyboard between the "HJK" keys. Sent it in to Asus now for the second RMA for the same issue, and they don't see the issue everyone else I took it to document the problem. The first RMA all they did was give it a cleaning and update some drivers. That did not fix the warping, the low microphone, and microphone jack, and when playing Fortnite the fans are on FULL, Laptop gets really hot. Poor Design, poor support, poor over all quality. Been using, and recommending Asus products for over 20+ years. This experience has made me change my mind about ASUS being a brand that I can trust anymore.

We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused, your dissatisfaction with the quality of the product and disppointment with the repair quality.
All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, these are random problems. It is normal for the laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially while gaming. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please check that no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.
