I got this laptop during the techtober sale and it was so worth it. This laptop is a beast and can do it all. I wanted a portable gaming PC and that's what I got! It runs every game I've tried so far really well. I got it mainly for gaming but also for drawing. Its been working super smoothly for that as well, I have genuinely noticed no issues. I also picked it up in store at my nearest location and the workers were very nice and helpful the whole time. Definitely worth your money!!

Great hardware but bad build quality

The ASUS TUF series offers great hardware performance at a competitive price point, but unfortunately, the build quality leaves much to be desired. Out of the box, the screen was slightly bent/curved on the right side. Also either the board or the cooling system may have been pushing the keyboard upward. On the positive side, the 1080p display is excellent for FPS gaming, delivering smooth visuals that make fast-paced titles enjoyable. The system runs games reliably and has the specs needed for demanding titles. That said, the fit and finish issues—like the warped screen and raised keyboard—take away from what could have been a near-perfect budget gaming laptop. Overall: If you don’t mind some minor flaws here and there, this is still a solid machine with strong gaming performance for the price.

’I've been using the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 for several weeks now, and overall I’m very happy with it. For the price range, it delivers excellent gaming performance at 1080p thanks to the RTX 5070 GPU and fast 165 Hz panel — games like Apex Legends, Forza Horizon 5, and Cyberpunk 2077 run smoothly on high settings with solid frame rates. Performance: The AMD Ryzen 9 processor paired with 32 GB of RAM makes this laptop fast not just for games but also for productivity tasks like video editing, streaming, and multitasking. I’ve never experienced lag switching between apps or during heavy workloads. Display & Gameplay: The 165 Hz FHD+ screen is responsive and fluid, which really helps with fast-paced games. The colors and brightness are good for everyday use, although it’s not quite as vibrant as a higher-end OLED panel. Still, for this price point it’s very solid. Thermals & Noise: Thermals are handled well — it stays cool under long gaming sessions — but the fans can get loud when running demanding games. Not a deal-breaker, but worth noting if you’re sensitive to fan noise. Storage & Memory: The 1 TB SSD gives plenty of space for games and programs, and the 32 GB RAM future-proofs the machine for the next few years. Upgradeability is good if you ever want to expand. Build & Extras: I like the sturdy TUF build quality — feels durable and well-made. The keyboard is comfortable for both gaming and typing, and connectivity covers all the essentials.

So far so good. The battery drains pretty quickly when gaming. It lasts only a couple of hours and then I have to plug it in. If you are doing regular computer stuff it lasts about 8 hours. It’s a big upgrade from desktop gaming PC and I’m pretty happy with the performance. My games are heavily modded and I have had no problems with performance. I don’t really do online gaming so I’m not sure how it would handle it.

It took me 8 hours to transfer over from 2019 specced Acer Nitro 5, with 8GB RAM, a laptop GTX 1650Ti, and an Intel i5-10300H, but after getting everything off my HDD onto a 2nd SSD and popping that 2nd SSD in I was off to the races. The first week was bliss. Sure, the fans can sound like a jet engine taking off, but thats actually what I want to hear when I make this thing run BoneWorks (and it runs the game extremely well... why dont more people try to do PCVR with one of these?). After my first BIOS update though, things started going south. Now, when I go to open a game, it feels like Windows rolls an invisible D20, and if I fail the save the entire system just reboots.... for no apparent reason AT ALL. It did this twice when I went to launch Megabonk a few days ago, and it did it to me again tonight when I went to launch Prey 2017. I'm actually glad it didnt decide to do it while I was in VR, or I'd of probably been BIG MAD after I got done getting my stomach to stop doing blackflips. Don't get me wrong, computer will rip thru EVERYTHING I throw at it, but the restart issue? PLEASE FIX IT, ASUS!! P.S: Battery life need not apply due to the nature of the loads this baby will carry... it stays plugged in and on a cooling pad unless being transported. As for that recommendation... the restart issue is the only caveat I have against it, I hope you arent planning a game marathon!!

I really like this laptop. I'm currently playing Destiny 2 and Diablo 4. It runs them on the highest settings. I didn't want to spend over $1500, so I waited for the black Friday sales and got it for $1200. For that price, it's worth it. My previous laptop was a several year old Asus Q series 2-in-1 laptop. It was not able to play Hogwarts Legacy even on the lowest settings. This one can play it on high settings with no problem, so that showed me right away how big of an upgrade it is. The only thing I might miss between this and my old one is the touchscreen.

This laptop was worth every penny. The gaming performance in a mobile package is unlike anything I've owned before. The only gripe I have with this model, is that the vRAM limits *some* of the more demanding games. With only 8 GB vRAM, it is infeasable to run some games at 4K, but of cource the device is not designed for it, so it honestly shouldn't be a deciding factor, as it is not it's intended use case. But at 1080p or 1440p, pretty much any game can be remped to ULTRA settings, and handle it like a beast. The CPU is well able to keep up with the GPU, and the 32gb of DDR5 can seriously game, as well as multitask MANY applications. The battery life is adequate, 2-3 hours gaming at max settings, you can squeeze another by lowering them. The screen impresses me, 165hz gaming is stupendous. All around, this gaming PC has impressed me at every turn, and I am incredibly happy with my purchase, and am looking forward to many years running this machine.

The ASUS TUF A16 with Ryzen 9 270, 32GB RAM, and RTX 5070 (8GB) delivers excellent performance for gaming and productivity. It handles AAA titles at high/ultra settings in 1200p with stable FPS and runs cool under load. While there are better high-end options, this model offers outstanding value — especially if you get it on sale. Great choice for users who want strong specs at a reasonable price.

I’ve been using this laptop for both gaming and work, and it has easily become one of my best purchases. I play DUNE, GTA, and Cyberpunk – not all on full ultra settings, but still at very high quality, smooth, and enjoyable. The system handles demanding titles really well. Since the laptop comes with an NPU AI and ML tasks run much faster and more efficiently. I’m planning to dive deeper into AI/ML projects, and this machine feels like it’s built for that future. Everyday tasks and multitasking also benefit from the extra processing power. I genuinely love how it looks and feels. Considering the performance this laptop offers excellent value for money.

    Poor experience so far

I purchased this laptop for myself and it has unfortunately been a pretty poor experience. I purchased this laptop and within the first day, I started to experience fan issues. I originally thought it was a software issue so I tried updating the BIOS, Armory Crate, Windows OS and nothing fixed the issue. I eventually reached out and contacted ASUS technical support who instructed me to run the myASUS diagnostics scan, and the results of the scan said (essentially) "fan error, contact manufacturer." (See pictured below for *actual* error msg) ASUS technical support then informed me that I had to ship the laptop to their technology center for repair; they provided me with a shipping label but I was charged ~25 USD from FedEx for packaging because (according to ASUS) "you can NOT ship in the original box". I was a little irritated about this, but at this point I'm still trying to maintain a level of grace/patience. I ship the laptop on a Tuesday, tracking shows on Thursday it's been delivered that morning. In my head, figured this should be an easy repair (maybe 1-2 business days). Estimate updates on Friday and it says repair will take a week. They proceed to sit on it for a week and when the repair ETA is due, they push the repair window back. As soon as the second repair ETA is up, they email me that the laptop can NOT be fixed and ASUS is going to exchange for a replacement. It's been a week since I got that email (with no follow up), so I called ASUS technical support. The representative couldn't provide me with any tangible information and told me it will likely be another 3-5 business days before they can find a replacement. I really liked this laptop when I was using it (keyboard was a little off center/wonky, but nothing problematic), but I probably wouldn't recommend an ASUS product after this repair experience.
