We didn't realize that this meant that WiFi, even with top tier equipment, would not work well. One machine, my wife's, only about 20 ft from the router could not get a reliable signal with any adapter, and I tried many. When the next to last one proved unreliable I went to Best Buy and started looking for something radically different. This ASUS adapter had a good price and has proven to be able to pull in a good signal even though it is such a small device. My wife is happy and so am I.

Please note that if you are in the basement, you may want to connect to an extension cord. It does get warm, but the previous on got very hot.

Tends to overheat and disconnects if you're using a lot of bandwidth consistently. After a while it stopped working almost entirely. Great for general use but would not recommend for gaming or streaming tv or videos. Wasn't in a position at the time to purchase a new motherboard or Wi-Fi card so this was a great alternative for awhile.

Right out of the box it increased my speed, and kept a connection. I have had a great experience using it.

Perfect solution for old desktops

Speed is excellent. Connection is rock solid. My old desktop computer only has a wired Ethernet connecting. Highly recommend.
