I've purchased 2 of these after I fell and broke the first one. Tends to overheat and disconnects if you're using a lot of bandwidth consistently. After a while it stopped working almost entirely. Great for general use but would not recommend for gaming or streaming tv or videos. Wasn't in a position at the time to purchase a new motherboard or Wi-Fi card so this was a great alternative for awhile.

My home office is located the furtherst point from the modem so it has always been a challenge to receive a good WiFi signal there. That was until I began using this ASUS dual band adapter. Now my WiFi signal has improved significantly as though the modem is right in my office. It does the job!

I had some trouble with this in the beginning. I get some great speed with no buffering. It is fast. Please note that if you are in the basement, you may want to connect to an extension cord. It does get warm, but the previous on got very hot.

Easy to install and works great. It’s small and stays in computer at all times. So for was up immediately.Customer service was efficient and helpful.

It’s so small that it doesn’t get in the way while solving the problem of the broken wifi adapter inside the laptop. It is the perfect inexpensive solution.

easy to setup small works up two floors usually i have problems. im cursed this. didnt give me a. headsche getbyour. router or midem info put it in and. im off. ill getvanother forvmy laptop

I installed the drivers, popped it in and it worked away in Windows 10. Speed is excellent. Connection is rock solid. My old desktop computer only has a wired Ethernet connecting. Highly recommend.

The WiFi card in my computer was having trouble staying connected, so I did some research and this adapter had great reviews. Right out of the box it increased my speed, and kept a connection. I have had a great experience using it.

it last gor a while then nothing. get the extra protection to get a new one if if doesn't work

Works just as well as pricier adapters. Very easy fast setup and no problems connecting on our two desktops.

Does what its suppose to but it doesn't stay connected the whole time like I'm constantly having to reconnect sometime even take it out and put it back in to connect

Recently, I was forced to begun working from home and I was allowed to take my desktop computer home to use. The only problem was that it didn't have wifi capabilities. I bought this wifi adapter and immediately, I was able to access my home wifi and have experienced no problems since. I love it and the performance that it has given me. I recommend it to anyone who needs to get access to a wifi network when using a computer without wifi capabilities.

Needed for upstairs desktop that didn’t have Ethernet in bedroom (router downstairs). Great connection and speed. Plugged in and it worked right away.

We just could not believe how poorly this device performed when we tried using it. Windows installed the driver automatically, but we also downloaded the latest driver for Windows 10 64-bit from the ASUS support website (latest version is from 2020). It did not really make much of a difference as the speeds were absolutely horrible. We started out only getting up to 3 Mbps speeds using USB 2.0 port and about 2 Mbps with USB 3.0 ports. Once we downloaded the drivers instead of using the Windows drivers, it improved to an incredible top speed of 27 Mbps, which is slower than the standard 54 Mbps speeds for slower WiFi from years ago. The user had fiber optic connection at home and her laptop was getting up to 300 Mbps using the laptop's built-in wireless adapter. I also took the device to my office at work and tried it there. Pretty much the same results with a top speed of just about 30 Mpbs on USB 2.0 and only 10 Mbps using USB 3.0! I used to think that ASUS adapters were trustworthy but I no longer believe that. Atrocious performance and the fact that the drivers are 3 years old and that's the best we could get out of it pretty much tells me all that I need to know. I do not recommend purchasing this unless you don't mind the slow speeds and it just fits your budget needs. From what I read, this is supposed to get much much better speeds but it didn't seem to happen. Sorry ASUS, you just lost a customer. I included photos of speed tests for this adapter and another that I will actually be keeping. One photo is USB 2.0 speed, then the even slower USB 3.0 speed, followed by the Linksys adapter which was great.

I had very old Dell Optiplex tower, the WiFi card was not working, so I bought this. I am able to get around 240mbps speed in my living room, my router is upstairs. It was just plug and play. Works great.
