I had to get a network adapter when the network card in my tower blew and I didn't want to pay to have it replaced. Plugged this in and it installed itself perfectly. No problem since.

Had to buy this network adaptor since COX in there infinite wisdom thought that my replacement modem/router only needed two have two USB ports instead of the four that I had with my old router. This works for what I need it for.

When I dropped my laptop and the onboard wifi wouldn't connect, I used this product to connect to wifi, saving me from purchasing a new computer. So far, I haven't noticed any difference from the original wifi connector.

If you have a dual-band router and modem and an older computer you are not getting the benefit of the dual-band and therefore the benefit of 5Ghz network band speed. Without it, you are still on the 2.4Ghz network band. You will never get the speed you want unless you're on the 5Ghz band. Check the WiFi hardware properties. This adapter will give you that speed.

Overall, good buy. I am approximately 50' from the router, in a separate room, and have no connectivity issues at all. Was great once I got the drivers installed. My desktop didn't recognize it at first and I was required to utilize my 75' Ethernet cable to install them, so no plug-n-play for me which means 1 less star.

converted to Comcast blast internet at 200 meg with their new dual band WiFi router. turns out my laptop internal wireless card was not able to receive the 5 GHz band and download speed was only 60 meg on the 2.5 GHz band. bought the ASUS network adaptor and after the GEEK Squad did the installation was able to connect to the 5 GHz band and download speed is the full 200 meg or more.

Purchased this to replace a Linksys version I got last year - which often seemed to be dropping the signal. Love this one so far. Really love the smaller size. Doesn't get in the way of other USB device plugged in at same time. Also no chance of bumping into this when plugged in (like I could do with the old Linksys one). I'd recommend this - especially if on sale.

The Installation of the ASUS - Dual-Band AC1200 USB Network Adapter was very easy. I set it up for a 5 GHz connection and it works great. I tested the 2 GHz connection as well to ensure both bands work correctly.
