Blazing fast speed

I decided to shop for and external USB WiFi adapter, and the small factor size from the Asus - Dual-Band Wireless-AC USB Network adapter met the specifications I was looking for. What made it a best buy was the price and being able to browse the internet at speeds faster than 100Mbps. Great product!!!

I have an older laptop and didn’t need to download the software that came with it, so I wouldn’t recommend doing that when you buy it. Just put the adapter into the USB port and you can then connect to whatever WiFi connections that are available.

Good enough for simple use

Only reason I did not give 5 stars is that it is very hot while working. Considering wireless component gets hot easily due to transmission parts, but it gets hot up to the point where I wonder it may fail due to heat. However, so far it is working.

We thought about an internal card but this is for my 12 year old son’s computer. He doesn’t even know it’s on the computer. When we have to take internet time away, just pop it out and he has WiFi problems! Great! It works well and fits our needs perfectly.

Helped me with internet connection

I had 2 home service calls after bringing it into the store because they did not fix it. Still did not work after house calls Brought it in again and the manager suggested this device which has worked so far. I have only lost connection 5 times in the past few weeks

Reasonable WiFi Adapter

The speeds however will be slower than what you’re used to. When connected via ethernet, I get 600mbps, with the Asus wifi adapter, I get about 50mbps. Instead I would recommend a powerline adapter, but if it’s not in your budget then this should be just fine if just browsing the internet or watching movies, sports, etc. Do not expect to be able to game with it.

No difficulty installing, however, installation of driver software is faster if done through the CD it comes with. If your laptop does not come with a CD/DVD port, then it's best to purchase an external one in advance.
