Once I had everything up and running, it discovered my 5ghz network right away and allowed me to use my laptop via wi-fi.

If you follow the included instructions, you should have no problem getting this up and running

Works use with my old surface pro 3

For $15 this saved the day and now my kids use the surface pro3, which still out performs these cheap chrome books and other $200 laptops.

Forget replacing wireless card!

Instead of replacing card I bought this network adapter and it works great! Easy setup and had meteor connection back in a just a few minutes.

If your wireless card goes out in your laptop, this is an excellent alternative. If your desktop doesn't have a WiFi card, this device works great. I would recommend plugging it into the front USB port of a desktop computer. The desk and electronic interference often prevent it from getting a strong signal if it is plugged into a rear port. Most laptops have plenty of clearance and connect to WiFi no matter which port you plug it in to.

Not super great of range, but for a compact wifi dongle it does decent enough, just make sure to update to the latest driver on the ASUS website.
