Simple to use, I just plugged it is and if it needed software it got autoloaded. Required the Bluetooth for a headset. Was surprised the laptop did not have Bluetooth. Once connected, you should have seen my friend's grandson's face light up!

Very good bluetooth adapter for use with a computer -- don't let the small size be deceitful. I get about 30 FT range with my earbuds, and about 50 FT range with my headphones––all while going through 3 walls! Blows the insignia version out of the water in terms of compatibility: I use it with Mac, Windows, and Linux, and never experienced an issue. I 100% recommend this adapter.

This USB is 10x better than the Insignia. On it's own it's small and convenient. Just plug it in and that's it. It has great reach and no delays with the Bluetooth connections. I can walk to my kitchen with my Bluetooth earbuds and still hear them. This adapter is worth it's price.

Flawless BT operation on my PC

Have used a no name BT dongle for a year or so to connect my Apple Airpods Pro 2 so when working late from home I could listen to TV, music, etc. without waking my wife in the next room. Often had to repair the buds and also resulted in the music or TV freezing, requiring reboot. Thought it was the Airpods. Was looking at the new Sony earbuds when the thought of the issue possibly being with the dongle crossed my mind. A 16 dollar solution seemed so preferable to a three hundred dollar one and so I bought these after reading many reviews extolling the virtues of this ASUS product. Got it home, unplugged the existing dongle and plugged this one in. It was immediately recognized by the PC and installed without a hitch. Airpods paired easily and functioned well. When I disconnected the PC sound took over. Took the Airpods out of the case and they paired flawlessly. I am absolutely sold on this product.

Bought this to use my PSVR2 on the PC and so far it works pretty good. I get an occasional lag on the controller movement but not often. Make sure you update the driver after installation.

    Dongle Issues

I had persistent audio dropouts and stuttering with my Bluetooth speaker and initially thought Windows was the problem. After some digging, I discovered the real issue was the ASUS USB‑BT500 dongle storing old pairing data internally. Even after removing devices in Windows, “ghost” devices kept coming back and interfering with audio. To fix it, I verified Windows wasn’t the source (empty Bluetooth cache, clean registry), then uninstalled the dongle in Device Manager and physically unplugged it to force a full hardware reset. After plugging it back in, Windows reinstalled it cleanly, all ghost devices disappeared, and audio performance immediately stabilized. The problem wasn’t Windows — it was the dongle re‑injecting old pairing data. A full reset completely solved it.

I wanted to connect my Sony XB-41 bluetooth portable speaker to my built PC. I bought the MSI tomahawk mother for $115, and it doesn’t have a bluetooth connection. Instead of buying a new motherboard $220, I bought this bluetooth adaptor which work pretty good. So I save about $200, and only spend $20. I recommend for the folks the doesn’t have bluetooth connection for their built PC.

This dongle is absolutely fantastic. Had to get due to my new rig having garbage Bluetooth, and this thing handles all my Bluetooth like a boss. I even tested how far I could go with headphones and a controller before it had latency issues and it is quite far. Easily 30 feet or more. If I had two floors, I'd wager they'd still stay connected if you went up or down stairs.

My blutooth headphones had a range of about 10ft from my pc (partly due to where it's located) and now I can be anywhere in my apartment with my headphones (Sony XM4) with perfect connection. Although the webpage I needed for instructions/drivers was down the day I bought this, and the instructions in the box weren't enough so I thought I messed up my pc, I got it figured out in the end.

Bought this for my son's gaming PC, so he could have his noise canceling headset and even his ear buds paired with his PC so he could game without filling the entire upstairs with loud game sounds/music. This BT adapter, worked straight out of the box, no drivers needed PNP on Windows 11 worked flawlessly. Paired with his noice canceling headset and even his Anker Soundcore X20 ear buds connected first time, everytime.

I picked up this Bluetooth adapter to give my old desktop some wireless love, and wow — it exceeded expectations. Setup was a breeze. I plugged it into a USB port, and Windows instantly recognized it. No drivers needed, no drama. The range is solid. I can walk around my apartment with Bluetooth headphones on, and the connection stays crisp — no lag, no dropouts. I’ve also connected a wireless keyboard and my Xbox controller, and everything stays synced perfectly. It’s compact, too. Barely sticks out from the USB port, so it’s ideal even for laptops. For the price, it’s an absolute steal. If you’re looking to upgrade your device with Bluetooth capabilities, this little adapter gets the job done quietly and efficiently. Pros: Easy plug-and-play setup Strong, stable connection Compact design Works with multiple devices Cons: None so far!

I bought this to replace one i purchased elsewhere but could not get to work. You can find them cheaper elsewhere but everytime ive taken the cheap option it has been trouble. I purchased a $3 bluetooth adapter online, it was so old that the drivers were no longer available. I have always had good luck with asus products, also this one works well with a WMR headset. very happy with purchase.
