The ASUS V16 is a decent budget laptop. I have been using it for about half a month and playing light and medium games on it with a Linux distro (Fedora) but I haven't run anything that makes heavy use of the RTX 3050. The battery life is surpringsly great for this laptop as the battery drains very slowly while off the charger. The fans are relatively quiet while in balanced mode but can pick up quickly sometimes while gamimg but not enough to be too distracting. The color leaves a lot to be desired if you are an artist, especially with 45% NTSC but it is not as bad as the sound configuration on this laptop (SonicMaster) which is barely audible until you raise the volume near max. This issue can be fixed with the "Volume Booster" option in MyAsus but even then it only provides much of a marginal improvement with my speakers still sounding somewhat muffled. As for gaming, expect to run older games with at least medium-high settings on older games (Minecraft, Skyrim, Terraria, and Fortnite). As for some newer games, particularly AAA titles like Indiana Jones and Starfield, the laptop will struggle while running them as you won't be able to run these games at a stable framerate without lowering the resolution and changing the settings. Finally, if you are a competitive gamer then I advise you do not get this laptop unless you plan to change out the WiFi card later as I have experienced some issues with it while using it in games. The Realtek 8852BE is great for internet browsing but is performs poorly when playing multiplayer as you will experience ping drops and latency issues which will make player characters and objects appear jittery. I feel disappointed about the WiFi card considering it is a budget laptop and they could have put a better chip in it like the Intel WiFi card in my older laptop. To summarize, this is not a bad deal if you are looking for a laptop that can play older-newer games at decent settings while also being capable of doing light work with office apps and some rendering if you are a 3D artist who uses applications like Blender and Autodesk Maya. Otherwise, I recommend the more higher-end laptops with the 40/50 series cards as you will be able to play more games at higher settings and have a more stable experience than with a 3050.

We visited the store to see what computer would work best with our Sky-track system. Now that we have it, we know that the suggested computer was the way to go. Thanks!

Amazing Laptop for Gaming & Work!

I recently picked up the ASUS V16 16” WUXGA 144Hz Laptop, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! This laptop is an absolute beast when it comes to performance, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. Performance & Speed The Intel Core 7 240H processor combined with 16GB of RAM makes everything run super smooth. Whether I’m gaming, streaming, or running multiple apps at once, I haven’t experienced any lag. This thing is FAST! Graphics & Gaming The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 does an amazing job handling my favorite games. I’ve been playing Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Cyberpunk 2077 on it, and the 144Hz display makes everything feel buttery smooth. The colors are vibrant, and the high refresh rate makes a huge difference, especially in fast-paced games. Storage & Design The 512GB SSD makes boot-up times almost instant, and apps load super quickly. I might upgrade storage later, but for now, it’s been more than enough. Plus, the matte black design looks so sleek and premium—definitely an eye-catcher! Battery & Cooling Battery life is solid for a gaming laptop. It lasts me several hours when I’m doing work or watching videos, and even during gaming sessions, it holds up well. The cooling system is also impressive—there’s some warmth under heavy loads, but nothing too crazy. Final Thoughts This is hands down the best laptop I’ve owned in this price range. It’s perfect for gaming, schoolwork, and even content creation. If you’re on the fence, just get it—you won’t regret it! ✅ Pros: ✔️ Super fast performance ✔️ Gorgeous 144Hz display ✔️ RTX 3050 handles games like a champ ✔️ Sleek and modern design ✔️ Great battery life for a gaming laptop ❌ Cons: Honestly, none so far! Maybe a little more storage would be nice, but that’s an easy upgrade.
