This is a nice budget workhorse that is a great value when on sale. The nvme SSD, and wifi card are replaceable and the RAM can be expanded with a so So-DIMM module (DDR4 3200). As a kit, it's solid and good quality all around. The biggest negative is the screen and it's viewing angles. Turning up the brightness helps a lot. The I/O ports are the same as other low end ASUS machines with one extra USB type-A 5 Gbps port. The actual performance is better than I expected especially in single threaded and graphical work. I use Linux and as others have noted, the wifi card isn't recognized right now by the system. I replaced it with an Intel 6e card and it works fine. I'm overall very happy with the purchase.

System does fine. These new intel chips are stronger than expected. The device is slim in design, light weight, it does get hot quickly though. RAM is upgradeable if needed. Unfortunately the BestBuy website lists it with IRIS graphics, it's not, it's intel UHD.

    Beyond excellent value for money.

I bought it for $249. I immediately added 16 GB more RAM taking the total to 24 GB. The current passmark for the CPU (Core I3 1215U) is: 11051. I also could get out of the super-restrictive "S" mode. The matte screen is perfect. This not having a touchscreen is a plus in my opinion. Within a day of making the purchase I found that the price had gone down by $20 at the Best Buy website. Best buy did a price match. At this price, this is beyond excellent value for money. I would like to thank: Best Buy: For the smooth purchase experience and for the price match. Microsoft: For not trying to over-complicate the switch-out from S mode. Asus: For providing extensibility (RAM and M.2 NVMe are upgradable). I have been buying Asus for close to a quarter century and I am yet to be disappointed. There are a few negatives, but I can't complain given how inexpensive this is. Here they go: 1. The laptop feels very plasticky. 2. The keyboard is just about OK. But then again, some keyboards cost as much as this laptop.

    Nice Starter Windows Laptop

This is a great starter laptop, especially for students. It does come with a surprisingly fast processor and ample memory to complete most tasks efficiently. I got this laptop for my 8 year old daughter because she was getting frustrated with using a much slower school Chromebook. She loves that this Asus laptop can do everything she wants. Overall, the laptop is well built. It’s mainly plastic, but it holds up well. The screen is not going to be the sharpest, but at this price point, it’s decent. On the other hand, the value is virtually unbeatable. Great price, too.

Not a high end device but still pretty good. Has a fast i3, can easily be upgraded with an NVME and I added 32 gig DDR4. Geekbench 6 single core runs ~2400, same as my Mac M1. It burns more power, though. Screen really isn't great, battery life so so. I actually installed Linux and that turns this thing pretty fast. Got it for 229. Nothing to complain

I had gifted this laptop to my brother for his birthday, as sort of a starter gaming laptop. My brother typically prefers games from the early 2000's/2010's, and this laptop performs excellently for this purpose. The laptop itself is shockingly thin, but seems sturdy. The keypad integrated into the touch pad is a nice bonus as well, since most laptops nowadays remove the keypad entirely. For regular browsing/streaming, this laptop also performs very well. My brother has been using it nonstop for a couple weeks now and has only good things to say. My only gripe - and this is more with laptops in general - is that the speakers are just slightly too quiet. Not quiet enough to be a massive issue, but quiet enough to notice when multiple people are in the room or there is another source of sound aside from the laptop.

The ASUS Vivobook 14" Laptop with an Intel Core i3-1215U, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD is a budget-friendly choice for everyday tasks like web browsing, document editing, and media streaming. Its 14-inch display balances portability and usability, making it ideal for students or casual users. While the Intel Core i3 and 8GB of RAM provide decent performance for light multitasking, the 128GB SSD, though fast, may feel limited in storage space. Overall, it's a solid option for users who need a lightweight, affordable laptop for basic productivity without heavy processing power.

I love it! I needed a smaller computer for work purposes to replace my Chromebook and i couldn't be any more happy. I love keyboard and how it feels. Build quality is great, as expected from an Asus. So much faster than my old Chromebook! I added 16g of ram and the performance has been great. An IPS display is the only improvement i wish it had, although current screen is good too.

As a professional on the go, and as a newbie learning AI, the Asus Vivobook is perfect. While getting windows 11 is a challenge, the Core i3-1215U processor, 8GB memory, and fast 128GB SSD in a thin, light, and stylish body in a 14' size is exactly what I need to connect to wi-fi and get to work. I like that it has enough USB Type-A and Type-C to connect my tools. It also has an HDMI when I want to connect to a monitor so I can work with 2 screens at once. This well built laptop is compelling considering the style, performance, and portability.

I've been using the ASUS Vivobook 14" for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations for a laptop in this price range. The Intel Core i3-1215U processor handles daily tasks like web browsing, document editing, and streaming without any lag. The 8GB of RAM ensures smooth multitasking, and while 128GB SSD isn't massive, it's fast and ideal for essential storage and performance.

Beautiful laptop and excellent speed and capabilities for my light internet and word processing uses. That was the main purpose of getting this laptop and it works like a charm. When comparing it to other machines (chromebooks) that I tried for nearly similar price this Asus outperforms them. It’s an I3 with good ram and for my light uses it never disappointed.

I bought this laptop to my sister and she loves it. So pretty and light weight and easy to carry whenever you go. Display size is perfect not too big, nor too small. Great performance so far. It is actually better than I expected compare to other laptop in the market with similar price. My sister is not very tech-friendly person but she did not complain once after using over a month now. I am super happy with my purchase.

Purchased to use for traveling use not everyday use. Great deal for $229 and adding 8gb ram to make 16gb ram. Haven't had any issues running but the panel picture quality could be better (It's TN not IPS). Trying to use WSA (Windows Subsystem for Android) has been interesting. Not sure if it's the app or the laptop that causes the app to close sporadically but otherwise a happy purchase. If just using to surf web this is a great laptop for that. The battery life could be better but maybe I'm pushing it too hard? I just leave it plugged in while using.

Great overall worth every penny at discounted price. Used as a secondary unit since I own ASUS ROG Z13. Small and good for basic tasks, but will take some medium load of work right out of the box. I highly recommend getting a Crucial 16 GB more of ram, feels much better this way. Would use it for light work and travelling with the fam.

Excellent laptop for work and everyday use. I'm not a gamer, so I just need this to work, research, in general everyday use. The last laptop I purchased was from a club store, and it was absolutely horrible. Incredibly slow, which made it impossible to get anything done. Not this one! This laptop is quick to load, and I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever. I do wish it had a backlit keyboard, but that's a minor trade-off for the value. I would highly recommend!

This computer is an incredible value when it's on sale. I bought it for my computer-illiterate parents, so I like that it comes with Windows S mode so they can't do anything to screw it up. It's really a much more powerful computer than they need, but for the price, it didn't make sense to buy anything else. It's also very lightweight, and seems very well made for the price. HOWEVER, you should know that it comes with a very disappointing display, especially for the year 2024. I assume it's a TN type display. If you are hoping to use this to watch movies/TV/video or do anything else that benefits from vibrant colors with a good viewing angle, this is not the computer to buy. This is the reason I give it four stars instead of five, but I am sympathetic that ASUS had to cut corners somewhere to make a computer at such a low price point.

It’s really good for daily small tasks but the screen is not the best, its matte finish makes colors seem very bland. It has reasonable speed and the option to add one more ram stick or change out the nvme drive is super nice

First laptop I’ve ever owned, and I’m in love. This is a steal at the price. It’s fast, the screen is decent, speakers are decent, keyboard is good, etc. My one complaint is that the images on Best Buy don’t show the number pad that’s permanently on the touch pad. It’s easy to accidentally tap the “ON” button while you’re normally using the touch pad, which was annoying. I managed to turn the numberpad function off completely by going into the MyAsus app.
