ASUS has done a really nice job with the design of this laptop and the specs have a lot to offer for a really decent price. The build quality is quite good and the laptop has a very reasonable weight of about four pounds. The trackpad is responsive and has a nice feel, and I appreciate the full-size, backlit keyboard, inclusive of numeric keypad. The fingerprint scanner works very well and there is also a hands-free login via the infrared camera using Windows Hello. Components that include an Intel 13th Gen Core I9-13900H processor, NVIDIA RTX3050 dedicated graphics, 1TB PCU-e SSD and 16GB of RAM make this a very fast laptop. Multi-tasking, creative applications and many games are not going to be a challenge for this laptop. Likely the best, standout feature of this laptop is the 15.6” 2.8K (2880 x 1620) 120Hz OLED screen with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Just a really big plus as this screen looks really great. I am really enjoying the difference that an OLED screen makes and this is one feature that really makes this laptop stand apart from other laptops I own. The sound quality is very good for a laptop as it has a quad-speaker Harman Kardon and Dolby Atmos certified audio system. Inputs include one HDMI port, and two USB-A and USB-C ports (capable of connecting two 4k displays or one 8K display) and a microSD card reader. I’ve had no issue with the battery life that is noted to have a 12-hour range. Bloatware is typical, yet I still wish there was less of it. I fully expect to be using this laptop for a long time as it offers great versatility with a phenomenal OLED display and exceptional specs and performance at a very reasonable price. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this for a wide variety of laptop uses.

Stay away from this model if you plan to use external monitor with it. This model has serious issue on waking up from sleep mode if it is connected to an external monitor. This is my second replacement, still has same issue. Will return it to bestbuy.

From my experience, Asus makes excellent products. The Q540VJ upholds that, except for one glaring exception. Features include: *15.6” OLED 2880 x 1620 HD screen. Great display for pictures and graphics. *Processor is Intel 13th Generation Core i9 with speed up to 4.7Gh. *Storage is SSD type with 1T of space. The average user should not have to be concerned about running out of storage space. *RAM memory is a hefty 16Gb. *Voice control is available by Alexa and Cortana. *Backlit keyboard. Should you not want the keys lit, “there’s an app for that.” Just kidding, there is a “key” for that. *Contrary to many laptops today, there is an excellent variety of ports for directly adding peripherals. These ports are money savers, space savers, as well as time savers. *Another rarity on laptops these days is a number pad, which this laptop has. As you can tell there is a lot to like about the Asus Q540VJ. Lots of processing horsepower and lots of space for storing your work. That said, there is one thing about this laptop that I find to be a major negative, especially given how great it is otherwise. The excellent screen is not a touchscreen! That feature is practically a given these days, especially at the price level of the laptop. I have gotten so used to a touchscreen and all the tasks it helps with that not having one is most annoying. Retro may be fashionable in some products, but it is not in laptops. If you don’t care about having a touchscreen, the Q540VJ could be an excellent choice for you. That is why I only dropped one star from the rating.

    OLED is King

This laptop is a great lightweight gaming machine. i-9 processor 16gb ram, 3050 gpu, all the basics on a solid machine are here. What really sets this monster ahead is the OLED screen with 120hz refresh rate. It really looks great and this is what is going to grab your attention and say this machine is the one. Setup was really simple finished the Windows 11 setup and I was up and running syncing my one drive from another machine. If you know anything about OLED you know that burn in can be an issue. ASUS included a nice multi color moving screen saver that you will find playing when your laptop is not in use that will help preserve the screen. The battery life is decent a few hours nothing to write home about but you are sacrificing here for the nice screen. Backlit keyboard is nothing fancy, no RGB here but plain white backlight is ok with me. Ports you have your typical hdmi out, ethernet 2xUSB A and 2xUSB C, it's enough for me but you should be aware before you purchase. I haven't run any thermal testing but it's been fairly quiet while computing/gaming. What I really like about it is how thin it is and doesn't feel like an overly bulky laptop to move around with. Overall happy with it and will be my new traveling gaming machine.

    Great OLED Laptop

This laptop is light, sleek and thin with plenty of power, but my favorite feature is the OLED display. The screen is bright and sharp making everything pop on display. You notice that as soon as you boot up the computer. The computer is plenty quick with the i9 processor and 16GB of RAM that will keep it relevant for years to come. The 1GB SSD gives adequate space but also allows for the fast start up. The log in has the fingerprint reader on the power button and its very accurate. I don't remember a time yet that's it hasn't been able to read my finger. Adding to the look and feal of the computer, the surface has a soft antibacterial guard coating. While it feels great, the only nit pick for the whole PC is that is shows all of your fingerprints on the cover and on the track pad. Perhaps if the surface was gray or silver they would be hidden. One last observation that I wanted to share is that while the computer is powerful with a great display, its very quiet. Even when the fan kicks in, which isn't often, its a smooth hum and never gets very loud. Overall this computer has everything you need to perform well now and into the future.

I was able to get an open box version for 800$. It was basically brand new. Cons I wish the battery life was better, but that should be expected with a dedicated graphics card and having an I9. Also, the sound is whatever. It does that job. Definitely not apple quality but I connect to my earbuds anyways. Pros It handles everything I throw at it. Somes games you might have to have to turn down the quality. I've honestly have been able to get away with running on high quality with the gpu maxed out. Blender3D, Photoshop, and Thinkorswim all work well. Laptop looks good too. It also has every port I need.

ASUS 15.6" OLED Laptop - Intel Core i9 - NVIDIA RTX3050 6GB with 16GB Memory - 1TB SSD - Black The ASUS 15.6” OLED laptop is a high quality work and gaming laptop. For work content the laptop is at the top of the list with an i9 CPU and an RTX-3050 GPU. For gaming the i9 is way more power than you require with 14 cores and 20 threads. The CPU has 6 performance cores and 8 efficient cores. The performance cores can clock up to 5.4 Ghz, the efficient cores can clock up to 4.1 Ghz. The base clock of the CPU is 2.6 Ghz. I found that the RTX-3050 GPU seems to be slightly held back. Testing it using Unigine Heaven It maxed out at 92.3 FPS no matter what settings I used. Its normal FPS was closer to 77, this being displayed on the OLED 2880X1620 screen is still fluid and beautiful. Most likely higher powered games will not run as smooth as you might like but this laptop is not being sold as a gaming laptop. It does not have the gaming marked keys like a gaming laptop would have and there is no mention of gaming in the documentation accompanying the laptop. With the amount of CPU and GPU power this unit has it will handle most games with ease. Just as a comparison, I tested a desktop RTX-3050 using the same settings and got a max of 195 FPS with a normal FPS of 125. The screen has the blue light filter built in that make it nice and clear in any lighting situation. The web cam has a built in cover that includes an orange dot to show that it is covered. The keyboard has a full size number pad, something you may not see on other 15” laptops. The power button doubles as a fingerprint reader for logging into Windows. It has 2 USB 3.2 A ports and 2 USB 3.2 C ports that are also Thunderbolt 4 and power delivery ports. It has a full size HDMI port, headset port, SD card slot, LAN port, and a charging port that is just for the power supply. It comes with 16 gigs of ram and a 1TB SSD. Battery life is very good, while I was testing I regularly forgot to plug in the power adapter and it was more that 2 hours before I noticed the battery starting to drop. Fan noise is not at all what I would expect from the RTX-3050 card, it is quiet compared to other laptops with this GPU. The case/keyboard is coated in an antibacterial coating to ISO 22196. Speakers are clear with good overall sound built by Harman/Kardon. This is a great laptop for work and occasional game play. It is light weight and built well enough to be carried around in a backpack. It has a backlit keyboard but does not have a touch screen.

The Q540 replaces the Q539, which was arguably a better machine. For the full asking price, there are more capable machines with bigger batteries and better graphics cards. I would recommend this laptop only if/when the prices drop below $1000. PROS: +Gorgeous 2.8K OLED screen provides vibrant colors at smooth 120 Hz +i9-13900H provides fast and fluid performance +Comfortable keyboard with number pad +Better build quality than most competitors CONS: -70 wHr battery is a huge downgrade from the 96 wHr on last year's model. -OLED touchscreens have a visible touch matrix that creates a grainy effect on light backgrounds. -The matte black finish shows fingerprints like crazy and feels cheaper than the metallic design last year. -16:9 aspect ratio means more scrolling -Bezels are big compared to the Zenbook 14 series

first off I will have to say I am impressed with this little powerhouse for what it can do and what I need it to do. However, not all things are perfect as I will explain later. Good: 1. light and thin 2. keyboard does not flex (or very little) when typing or playing games. 3. resolution is fantastic with high refresh rate and perfect colors. 4. screen size is nice for travel, and on demand gaming sessions without sacrificing quality of picture. 5. battery is decent for the size that it is and is average for a gaming laptop. I got 3.5 hours on WoW on high settings with no issues. 6.color gamut is spot on with full Adobe RGB possibilities. making the darks dark and the lights light. with no bleeding. 7. OLED screen is so "bright" without being too bright and losing color depth. the skin colors are so accurate on my screen. 8. backlit keyboard is nice with 4 levels (off, low, med, and high) making late night/low light use a breeze. 9. speakers and sound blew me away. I have never heard such separation on laptop before with the Dolby system this come with. 10. ASUS control panel give you all kinds of possible tweaks to your system. Letting you change power settings, fan speed, how it handle when you load games, program, or watch video/audio. 11. when programs load and you use it. this thing flies with not slowdowns, stuttering, or issues I can see. 12. it took a fair bit of use gaming, before the fans kicked in. when they did it was not very loud at all and the laptop was not hot. The vent was push some serious air out and it was warm, but never hot. 13. video card is not the latest and greatest, but it does a great job with the improved ram and memory tweaks they have done to it. Bad: 1. keyboard is not RBG like almost all other gaming laptops these days. Only blue/white color, which is easier on the eyes, but less thrilling. 2. too much bloatware (can't totally blame ASUS, as this is a MS thing). I spent too much time getting rid of trialware and apps that do not really need to be there in the first place. 3. mouse pad is hard to get it to register clicks. takes more pushing than it should to right or left click. 4. does not work well with "double tap" on mouse pad, and R/L clicks are only in extreme lower corners of pad. 5. when launching large programs or games, it will freeze for 2-3 seconds until it is loaded. So if you are launching a game and click on a browser, you will notice the keys or the mouse will work until it is finsihed. 6. SOOO many updates for a new laptops. I was sitting and updating for about 45mins before it will within the latest OS and such. So that was a bummer. 7. it is high gloss screen, so it does reflect quite a bit of light and could be distracting. 8. not sure why they decided on a tiny power plug port and cable end. these have a high risk of being bent very easily (in my experience). That is my take one this gaming laptop that I am currently using daily. Some items may seem nitpicky but, better say it and tell you why, than have you get it and not know in advance. I will be touting this to all my friends and frenemies while gaming with them. I would hightly recommend this to all that need a good laptop, with above average specs, that is priced fairly.

I was looking for a larger screen laptop for doing some gaming and movie watching, my 13 inch laptops are too small for those tasks. This is my first 15”+ laptop in quite a few years and I love the larger format. This is also really light for it’s size and much lighter than the previous larger screen monitors I had previously used. Unboxing - Nicely packed and easy to open (always a plus) - You get the laptop, charging brick and power cable - Some promo cards and warranty info - First impressions - The laptop has a minimalist look to it, in a really sharp black - The weight is nice, lighter than expected - Plenty of ports – Perfect amount, nothing missing for me - Power - Headphones - 2 USB-A ports - 2 Thunderbolt/USB-C ports - HDMI port - Ethernet port - SD Card Reader - A number keypad! This has been really missed and is a welcome surprise - Not a touch screen, though I find I never use those anyway - The screen is gorgeous – best I’ve seen on a Windows laptop Setup - Setup through Windows 11 is a breeze - Fingerprint reader/power button is a nice touch - The camera does not support facial recognition – I find that odd - No issues with bloatware, thankfully Up and running - Fast, fast, fast - Handles every conceivable task with ease - Graphics for games and streaming are fantastic, no lag so far - Audio – I find the speakers to be fairly disappointing, but I also love great sound. I paired the laptop with my Sonos Era 300 speaker anyway. It does have Dolby Audio built in which is a nice feature - Battery life is fairly decent for a laptop with these specs and a bigger screen. I won’t be too mobile with this laptop so it’s not an issue for me - Camera is fine, but won’t be used much anyway - The keyboard feels good, I haven’t hit too many wrong buttons yet - Track pad is good, though perhaps too far over to the left I am very happy with this laptop, the i9 processor, 512gb of ram, 1tb hard drive and the graphics card are really impressive specs which makes this laptop a great value.

      Dear Samsung,

We do understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused.

If you are experiencing lockup or system freeze during the initial setup, please check if the laptop has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since Windows 11 requires an internet access in order to complete the initial setup successfully.

If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent from the link: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/1135/.
