Great Specs but 60hz!?

Wouldve been such a steal espeically for the price it was for black friday. Amazing specs again but come on !! 60hz!? Thats was my ultimate deal breaker!

Can't Handle Games From 2007

I knew that Baldur's Gate 3 would likely push its limits, but what I did NOT expect was for it to constantly freeze and pause while trying to play the original 2007 Assassin's Creed. It seems that no matter what I play (even just opening Google Chrome) causes the computer to pause and lag for up to a minute at a time. Usually, the audio will continue working while the video and all inputs (controller, mouse, and keyboard) are inactive before regaining video and input control with only background audio active. I've resorted to using my controller via USB cable because it kept losing connection when I tried to use it wirelessly (both bluetooth and proprietary USB dongle). The worst part is that I've done ALL the driver related troubleshooting. I check the graphics card for updates every time I use the laptop for games and I manually check for system updates weekly. Everything is up to date. Almost everything has been reinstalled at least once. I've even run performance monitoring software while playing games to see if I can identify a specific issue in the workload, but my temperatures are all well within tolerance, and the processor, memory, and graphics card are all showing the system to be running better than I expected or hoped, yet it continues to lag, freeze, and pause on me.

Powerful, Lightweight Laptop

It comes well-equipped with an efficient processor, a fast SSD, plenty of memory, and a video card capable of tackling a decent amount of 3D games. Boot time takes a few seconds, the fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate, and the battery lasts for about 3.5 hours with typical usage like playing videos or music while reading email and using remote connectivity apps to connect to my office network. On my 5 GHz WiFi network, I am connecting at 1201 Mbps. For anyone familiar with benchmark testing, the machine consistently scored as a UFO/101% in the desktop category and Battle cruiser/66% and 68%, respectively for gaming and workstation categories. The only thing holding it back in performance was the graphics card, which still had decent scores. All other hardware was outstanding, usually scoring above the 100% mark. Besides handling a good amount of games and editing software, this can handle some really GPU-intensive business/educational applications. The case has a serious business vibe, much more than gaming. That means it is the perfect fit for someone who needs it for work by day and games at night. The screen size and image quality are excellent. For me, 15.6 inches is the sweet spot between being large enough to comfortably see everything needed on the screen vs. being so big that it is challenging to travel. The machine slid perfectly into my carrying case for 15.6-inch machines, and I was happy to notice it weighs less than my older laptop with the same screen size. Ports are plentiful with multiple USB-A and USB-C connections. There is also an RJ-45 port, full-size HDMI, a headphone/mic jack, and an SD card reader. I am slightly disappointed that they used a barrel plug for power, instead of USB-C. The roadblock is probably the 150 W power adapter to provide abundant power to the video card in intense operations. USB with that high of a capacity exists, but it is probably much more expensive to integrate. The sound quality of the built-in speakers is decent, but nothing spectacular. As is pretty much standard now, there is good Bluetooth connectivity which easily connected to my headphones. The microphone sound quality is impressive. I tested it in a few different positions and was happy that the audio was clear, with no echo. It did not sound like I was talking into a tin can or a speakerphone. Camera quality is also great for video conferencing. There is a built-in red-colored cover that makes it obvious that the camera is either open or closed. The QWERTY part of the keyboard is perfect for my hands. It feels natural. My hands were instantly able to type fast with few mistakes. However, my feelings are mixed with the number pad on the right side. They shaved off the usual -, +, and enter keys and placed them above the numbers. This allowed them to make more natural spacing for the rest of the keyboard, but the numbers do not feel natural in this modified layout. If I had a lot of numerical data entry, I am unsure if I would like it. Continuing to move down, the trackpad is massive, yet I did not find my wrists accidentally bumping it like I often do on other models. They appear to have placed it perfectly in a neutral area where it is not in the way. The only negative in that areas is that oil from skin shows up everywhere. I can see exactly where I repeatedly touch the case or rest my wrists for typing, which kind of annoys me. Even with clean hands, I see smears. Regardless, I am really happy with this computer and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Worked well at first, but unfortunately it crashed while he was playing Fortnite. The specs exceed the minimum requirements for the game, but for some reason it crashed and now we can't get past the Asus logo when we try to boot it. Been trying all the recommendations for fixing it, but nothing works and now it looks like I'll have to send it to Asus to be repaired.

Could have been Great but was a Demo Model

Bought this as an open box laptop was great except it having a beautiful OLED screen that had Best Buy qr codes burned into the corners of the screens and a blown speaker. Asus will not cover any laptops bought from BestBuy it's in writing on their website, so beware. Had to return it as it was unusable.

So slow

Good Computer; Bad Experience;JustBuy it on Amazon

No point now. I am leaving Best Buy. Just Buy your stuff on Amazon. Was excited to use my Best Buy rewards on a JBL Flip 5 speaker for the first time ever before they expire. Nope, switched it up after decades after they take another $1,000 from me. Only points for credit cards now. Best Buy was about the only oasis of transparency, service and value in the retail space, especially tech. I can get a mediocre customer experience, lack of transparency, no loyalty rewards, and no idea what I get for my money anywhere and I don't have to drive 20 miles across town to realize the rug has been yanked out from under me again. I think their rewards have been expiring sooner and sooner over the years anyway too. My $2000 TV rewards expired last year, though it was transparent at least. Best Buy has gone the way of the rest with poor quality and trust. Very sad. You have lost this multi decade customer. JUST BUY IT ON AMAZON!!!!

Solid laptop optimized for content creators
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always had a fondness for ASUS products and their newest OLED Creator laptop does not disappoint! The laptop has plenty of processing power with an Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 2.4 GHz with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU integrated with 6GB of dedicated video RAM. There is also 16GB of system RAM and a 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD for storage. The unit bucks the current trend among other manufacturers of minimizing the number and style of IO port types by including a comprehensive array of connectors. This includes USB Type A and C ports, both Thunderbolt v4 and HDMI 2.1, a gigabit Ethernet RJ45 connection, an SD 4.0 card reader, and a 3.5mm Combo Audio Jack! The power brick connects via a circular pin - not the USB C port. In spite of all this IO port availability the unit is slim and relatively light. The keyboard layout is comprehensive and backlit. The keys feel solid and have good tactile feedback. The integrated mouse pad is a little oversized but is responsive. Now to the crowning jewel of this laptop - the OLED screen. The colors are insane. Fully saturated, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and the typical inky blacks. However, the anti-reflective screen coating can give a fully dark screen a bit of a purple tint. Also, if you prefer an extremely bright screen this is not the laptop for you. At 600 nits this puts you more into the cellphone screen arena. To address the OLED elephant-in-the-room - ASUS has implemented a number of techniques to eliminate the potential for screen burn-in. These are all defeatable via a configuration options screen but, why would you? Remember, this a tool tuned for video content creators and so accuracy is paramount. My only quibble with the laptop is the OS. That has nothing to do with ASUS but be certain that you are comfortable with Microsoft's latest and that it will play nice with your existing apps. So, if you fit the user profile for this unit you definitely need to give it a look.

Not what it's made out to be

All of my programs that I use, such as, cricut design space, silhouette studio, Photoshop etc. would freeze up each time I attempted to use them. I returned the computer and purchased a lenova yoga with no regrets.
