    Good quality, all-around laptop

For those interested in the market for a solid, all-around laptop that can handle just about anything, this might be of interest to you. This ASUS laptop comes packed with a lot of good features/hardware making this a very good upgrade to your existing laptop or, getting a solid laptop for both gaming and productivity. This comes with the latest gen i7 processor. It's a 10 core processor rated at (up to) 4.9GHz. This will chew through just about anything you can throw at it whether it be a large spreadsheet or even gaming. Paired with this processor is the NVIDIA RTX3050 dedicated GPU. This is on the lower tier of GPUs however, for the average consumer, this will work for just about any game and should get you some decent FPS (provided you tinker with the games graphics settings). 16GB of DDR5 4800MHz RAM to go along with this makes for decent gaming and 4k video feedback. The screen is a OLED monitor that has pretty good clarity and is capable of 4k video display. Colors on the screen are quite vibrant and bright so no worries about dull clarity or anything like that during videos or streaming. As far as the rest of the laptop goes, it comes with a built-in fingerprint scanner conveniently located on the power button. You can configure the laptop to login using your fingerprint or through Windows Hello with the integrated webcam. The webcam also has a built-in privacy slider which is a nice touch as well. This model comes with a 512GB NVME drive which is fast enough. Boot times is a 5-8 seconds and shut down is only a couple seconds. As far as any negatives? Nothing major but more just nit picky type of stuff. First being the layout of the keyboard. While I love the incorporation of a dedicated number pad, I find the layout here a bit squished; almost too compact. I find myself having to acclimate myself to this keyboard layout whenever I use it since it's just a bit off compared to my other keyboards/laptops. The drive on this model is only 512GB which is a bit small IMO. Should be around 1TB at least. Fortunately, you are able to swap it out so, again, just nit picky stuff here. Lastly is the weight. I was a bit surprised at how hefty this little laptop was. I have a 14" laptop from ASUS as well (different configuration obviously but it's much lighter than this one is. It's not super heavy however, once you pick it up, you'll see what I mean. Overall though, if you're looking for a good, midrange laptop that can do just about anything; this is a nice pick. It has some pretty good, up-to-date hardware, very little bloatware, and quite fast for just about everything. Thanks Best Buy for providing this free ASUS OLED laptop for this review.

Gorgeous Display for Creators and Light Gaming

If you’re looking for a laptop to do photo editing, touch ups, video editing, media consumption, or just want a beautiful display to do a little bit of gaming, I think this is a great choice. The screen is bright, sharp and the colors look bright and vibrant. It uses an Nvidia RTX studio drivers which are optimized for creative tasks such as photo and video editing, graphic design, livestreaming and animation. If you’re still into doing that and some light gaming, it’ll work with that too. In my opinion the focal point of this laptop is the creative aspects especially in regards to the display quality and accuracy. It uses a 60hzt OLED display which is pantone validated along with other features such as low blue light hardware certification. The cherry on top for an already fantastic sundae is HDR True Black 600 certification as well. You can switch between different color gamuts including sRGB, Display-P3, and DCI-P3 and the native display. On the physical aspects of the machine, it has as low profile design. The whole machine is black with the exception of a silver ASUS logo at the bottom of the display and a glossy black logo on top. The bottom bevels to the edges a bit sharply leaving somewhat of a gamer design language, but I wouldn’t hesitate at all to take this to conference room or meeting. I/O is great. All ports are full size and there’s plenty of USB ports to go around, 2 type A and 2 type C, one of which is a thunderbolt 4 port. My only gripe is most of the I/O is located on the right side of the laptop which could get in the way if you’re setup with a mouse and are right handed. Everything seems to be very well built and comfortable in the lap. The trackpad is large but nothing special. The keyboard is easy to type on. I like that they managed to fit a number pad without adjusting spacing on number and letter keys. It does however create a very busy area with some keys such as end and home now require the function key to be used to get their use. Sound is another feature they got right. You’ll be hard pressed to get great sound out of a laptop that compares to a dedicated speaker, there’s just not a ton of space for speakers while keeping portability and features in mind. They did however manage to make loud speakers. You can turn the volume up without distortion and walk away from it while still clearly hearing what you’re listening to. It has it’s limits but I was happy with it. One area that could have used some improvement though was the webcam. It’s a standard, run of the mill, webcam. Performance wise the 13th Gen i7 does a great job switching between apps, starting up, opening programs and even playing some games. It has a Nvidia RTX 3050 with 6GB of RAM. This is the entry level of dedicated graphics processing but it doesn’t lag behind. Launched a couple of games that I enjoy because of the graphics, Stray and New World, where you’re in different types of environments and there’s a lot going on. I didn’t have any issues with Stray and but did lose some frames in New World with a zerg rush on some strongholds where you can have 20-30 players all on the screen at a time. I was happy to see the ASUS’ management app MyASUS was clean, quick to load and easy to navigate. You can adjust settings such as color gamut, fan profile, and OLED optimizations that can help with screen care and battery life. Also included was the ProArt Creator Hub. A feature I thought was neat was task groups which can launch a group of apps for different work streams. If you want to work on a thumbnail then switch over to editing a video, you can choose up to 8 apps to launch with a single click. One thing I noticed that affects the looks of the machine is it’s a fingerprint magnet. I’m not sure if it’s related to the antibacterial coating on the laptop or just the material, but you’ll want to keep a microfiber cloth in your laptop bag. All being said, I’m very happy with this laptop. The amazing OLED panel is just pleasing to look at. I love consuming content and playing rich games. There’s a ton of versatility: Creating, Gaming, Consuming, Producing, Listening, Modeling, Communicating. There’s a lot to love about this laptop.

I recently purchased the ASUS VivoBook R and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed. As a freelance graphic designer, I needed a laptop that could keep up with my demanding workload while still being portable enough for my on-the-go lifestyle. The VivoBook R has exceeded my expectations on all fronts. Firstly, let's talk about performance. Equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM, this laptop handles heavy-duty graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite with ease. I've experienced no lag or slowdown, even when working on large files or multitasking between multiple applications. The 15.6-inch Full HD display is a joy to work on. Colors are vibrant, and the narrow bezels provide an immersive viewing experience. Whether I'm editing photos or designing marketing materials, the clarity and accuracy of the display are top-notch. Portability was a key factor in my decision, and the VivoBook R delivers in this department as well. It's remarkably slim and lightweight, making it easy to slip into my backpack when I'm heading to a client meeting or working from a coffee shop. The battery life is also impressive, lasting me a full day of work with moderate usage. I appreciate the thoughtful design touches ASUS has included, such as the ergonomic backlit keyboard and the responsive touchpad. The inclusion of a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure login is a nice bonus too. In terms of connectivity, the VivoBook R has everything I need. From USB-C to HDMI, it offers a versatile range of ports for connecting peripherals and external displays without any hassle. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the ASUS VivoBook R. It strikes the perfect balance between performance, portability, and affordability, making it an ideal choice for professionals like myself who need a reliable workhorse for their creative endeavors.

This is my first ASUS (my previous laptops have been Toshiba {don't} and an HP Sceptre (4k) that I loved {until the battery started "growing"}. So, why the ASUS? Simple. Almost all the i7 12th and 13th generation units come with a basic integrated Intel graphic card. ASUS specs include the Intel i-7 CPU 13th Gen, NVIDIA RTX3050 with 6gb of dedicated video memory and 16GB DDRS RAM. The video card mades the deal very sweet at the price. I'm not a gamer, but I wanted the extra video power for some very large PowerPoint presentations and some huge spreadsheets in Excel. My previous computer (8th gen i7 with onboard graphics) would get bogged down loading these files. The ASUS just coasts. I've yet to her the fan kick in. The unit runs silent and cool for everything I've thrown at it. Setup and updates were a breeze, thankfully, the only "bloatware" a few ASUS programs and some anti-virus that I just removed rather than install. Yes, the screen is beautiful. And the keyboard is one of the best I've encountered in a laptop. Quiet, but with a real movement in the stroke. Do I like the fingerprint reader rather than Windows Hello? Nope. But it works quickly and I'm sure once I get used to it, I'll be fine with it. I don't find "case fingerprints" a problem as some have described. And I have no trouble reading text on the screen as others have reported. I do find the unit solidly built, and that makes it a bit heavier than some other 15.6 laptops. If I had any negative, it would be battery life is not stellar. I doubt it can go 10 hours without a charge. Although I haven't tried to run it down yet. Since I work from home, it's not an issue.

The Specs… This laptop is well-designed and brings punch to demanding applications with Intel’s 13th Generation Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB NVMe SSD (full PCIe 3.0 x 4). Graphics performance is rock solid, as this laptop incorporates an nVidia GeForce RTX 3050 solution. The screen is nice, using an OLED panel that has full HD screen resolution (1920 x 1080). The experience… The laptop has a nice protective box to keep things safe during shipping. Opening the box, the laptop is wrapped in a nice protective bag, presumably to protect against abrasion of the nice black finish of the aluminum case that the laptop lives within. Powering the laptop on, I got a quick view of the display. It’s one thing to consider the specs, but seeing this display in person gives a whole new appreciation of OLED technology. It’s a beauty! Laptop setup… Now getting the laptop setup. WiFi is the first thing to configure, and this laptop has 802.11ax, which is commonly known as WiFi 6E. If you have a compatible router, you can expect to retain high speeds more consistently. WiFi 6E made OS and driver updates a snap. I/O Ports… With the laptop all configured, I took a look at the various ports around the perimeter of the laptop. HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 are supported for external video. I was a little disappointed to see that this laptop doesn’t come with a USB Type C charger. Instead, Asus went with a 4.5 mm DC jack. The brick (charger) indicates that it can deliver 120 Watts of charging power. That said, the documentation states that there are two USB Type C charging ports. In addition to the two USB 4.0 Type C ports, there’s a USB 3.2 Type A port, and a Thunderbolt 4 port. So lot of I/O capabilities with this laptop. Conclusion… Lots to like about this laptop. Great performance with nice aesthetics as well. As I mentioned, the one mild disappointment was the lack of a USB Type C charger versus the included charger with a 4.5 mm DC jack. But that’s a nit in the scheme of things.

ASUS as a brand has been around for decades, seemingly started as a lower-cost motherboard mfg, since transitioning into a well trusted PC and Laptop manufacturer, implementing cutting edge tech into their products while pricing well below the outer space competition. One complaint with the Asus ZenBook was the power button was on the side body of the machine, with unintended turn turn one from inside a backpack. Finally they’ve moved it to the top right corner of the keyboard consistent with other manufacturers so the lid must be open and prevents accidental power on and accidental battery wasting. Good job Asus. Performance wise this laptop performs nearly as fast as my dedicated gaming PC, but in a portable form-factor far far smaller and lighter than the tower. I remain surprised how ASUS was able to get such power and speed in a small package. The OLED screen is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. The fact that ASUS was able to include a 13th generation Intel I7 chip, while upping the graphics ram from 4 GB to 6 GB, along with 16 GB of fast architure DDR5 RAM is nothing short of amazing. I had a minor nitpick on the last model, that being the off-centered trackpad. It’s not a deal breaker, but does make late night usage awkward because the trackpad is centered on the main keyboard and space bar, which is it, but the numeric keypad on the right side of the keyboard creates this disharmony, but one that you get used to after a few seemingly left clicks register in the center or right of where you intend. CAUTION: as usual per good practice, if you have a previous generation ASUS laptop, be sure to keep track of the transformers, aka power bricks, because this one draws 2 amps, compared to the previous ZenBook that looks IDENTICAL, yet draws 2.5 amps from the wall, despite both outputting 7.5 amps at 150 watts. Better to be safe than sorry eh? Specs *OLED 60hz screen *550 nits brightness *Intel Core i7 13th gen *up to 4.7 Ghz speed *6 GB Video VRAM Graphics *NVidia RTX 3050 Graphic processor *1080p resolution (Full HD) 1920x1080 *16 GB DDR5 fast architecture memory *512 TB SSD NVMe solid state drive *Wi-Fi 6E evolution built-in *HDMI 2.1 jack (HDCP 2.2) *RGB 100% color gamut *3 USB 3.2 A-ports *2 USB 4 C-ports *2 DisplayPort 1.4 *Thunderbolt 4 40 Gbps *15.6 inch display *10hr battery life Pros + compact + battery life + fast WiFi 6E speeds + gorgeous OLED screen + bright back-lit keyboard + Low blue light emissions + AI noise cancellation audio + 3-microphone 360 degree mics + Harman Kardon speaker system + deep blacks w/ 100% D3 color spec + Nvidia 3050 desktop processor in a laptop Cons -Loses Dolby Vision / Atmos tag from ZenBook -off center trackpad makes night usage a challenge -not 4k 120 hz OLED screen (seriously, at this price?? ;-) -512 GB might feel squeezed, consider +$200 for 1 TB ver Conclusion: ASUS seems to continue to up their game and take on the big guys (looking at your Alienware), while still being able to offer uber competitive pricing below the others. If you’re in the market for a Windows 11 laptop, and plan to use it for mixed media usage like gaming (the Nvidia RTX 3050 is more than adequate) or movie watching the inky jet blacks of the OLED screen will make the vibrant colors pop off the screen while looking near 3-dimensions, despite the 1080p resolution if you’re viewing 4k content. Recommend: Buy (note $200 more for 1 TB storage model)

THE ASUS Q530V OLED LAPTOP IS ALL TOP QUALITY!

Received my Asus Q530V laptop and was anxious to try it out, especially with the 15.6" OLED screen. It was packed nicely and protected in a handled box. It's a tad bit heavier than I am used to but this laptop has so many useful ports, including a LAN, so well worth the extra little weight. I must say Asus outdid themselves with the quality of the case but the black finish does attract fingerprints. I plan on getting a cover for it to help with that issue. I charged it for about 7 hours and Asus does recommend at least a 3 hour charge before using it on battery. Once it was ready I lifted the lid to begin setting up. It uses Windows 11 Home Edition OS. The screen has a glossy finish and appears spacious. One thing I especially liked is Asus uses an ANTIBACTERIAL GUARD which they say inhibits 99% of bacteria using silver ion and giving you up to 3 years protection as noted in the included paperwork. I feel this is really a plus feature as our computers and phones are bacteria magnets, especially if you share with others. The keyboard lit up when I pressed the power button then the lighting shut off. In the My Asus app you can set the lighting to stay on or if in a bright environment to dim down. I left it at the factory default. Pretty much immediately when setting up it asks if you wish to use wifi or ethernet. I have a router really near so chose the ethernet but did test to see how fast it would find my wifi and it did so without a hitch. Next came updates which went smoothly. I could feel and hear some warm air blowing out on the left side as there are 7 small air vents but it only comes on when needed, which is seldom (at least for me) and the sound is soft. It does have dual fans to keep it cool. I configured it to let me sign in with my fingerprint but you can also use a pin code if desired. I do notice that sometimes the reader says it cannot detect my fingerprint properly and I need to use the code so I guess that's a small glitch but the code works fine for me too. As far as using the laptop WOW! This is an awesome experience to say the least! The keyboard is so spacious and it offers the numeric key pad as well. Satiny smooth large touchpad that reacts perfectly to my fingers. This seriously is one of the best feeling keyboards on a laptop I've used. The OLED screen is beautiful ~ crystal clear images with brilliant colors. I am pleased it offers a memory card slot as I process a lot of photos and now can just place my SD card in the reader and I'm set to get to work. It's blazing fast too having 16 GB DDRS RAM, an Intel i-7 CPU 13th Generation, 512 GB SSD and the Wifi is 6e (11 AX). There are numerous ports including an HDMI, USB Type C, two USB Type A, Thunderbolt 4 Combo Port, headphone/headset/microphone jack, LAN and the power DC input port. I opened up the Netflix app to check out sound. It has Harmon Kardon speakers along with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision capabilities. I did the custom setup for sound but you can choose what you want from the preconfigured choices which include Music, Movies, Games, etc. I honestly wasn't expecting much on the Dolby Atmos end from a laptop but boy was I wrong! It literally took my breath away after choosing an action film that was recorded using Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. I heard sound all around me ~ even BEHIND me! The sound on this laptop ROCKS! The camera worked perfectly with really clear images. No problem there at all. I've been using this regularly for the last few days and it has impressed me greatly. I'd rather watch my movies on this laptop than on the 24" TV which is sitting right there as the sound is so fantastic! I enjoy doing my work on it as well so I guess you could say I'm smitten. Smiles. Asus truly put a lot of thought into this build. From the high quality feel to all the wonderful features this is a "must have" laptop if you're in the market. It's lightening fast with no lag that I encountered at all, highly responsive to everything I do and is very reasonably priced for what you get. I can easily give it that 5 star rating and more if I could. It's a dream laptop. Great job Asus!

I recently purchased the ASUS 15.6" OLED Laptop with Core i7-13620H, NVIDIA RTX 3050, 16GB memory, and a 512GB SSD, and I couldn't be more pleased with my choice. This laptop has exceeded my expectations in several ways. First and foremost, the OLED display is absolutely stunning. The colors are vibrant, and the contrast is exceptional. It provides a visually immersive experience while I'm working on video editing projects. Performance-wise, the laptop delivers on all fronts. The Core i7-13620H processor handles multitasking effortlessly, and the NVIDIA RTX 3050 graphics card provides smooth graphic performance in premier pro and after effects. I don't play game and thus can't say more about that. The 16GB of memory and the 512GB SSD make a significant difference in overall speed and responsiveness. Loading times are minimal. The SSD ensures that tasks are completed swiftly, which has boosted my productivity. The design and build quality are also notable. The laptop is sleek and well-constructed. The backlit keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the touchpad is precise. The laptop feels durable and robust while maintaining a sleek and modern appearance.

Fast, OLED screen is amazing for media. I got this laptop to replace my 7 year old Dell Latitude 7389 since it was making a loud fan noise (7th gen i7, m2 nmve ) , and though this would be more silent, I was wrong. When under a load the coil whine is really noticible something I didn't know was common for "high performance" laptops. I mainly use this laptop at the library hence the want of a "silent" replacement. As someone else stated if you want to use the full power you will to be running of the power supply. Also when not on the power supply ASUS disabled the UHD feature; turning it on will make the colors look correct, but WILL shorten the battery life. for those scared of burn in , I currently have a OLED switch & an OLED C1 LG tv both bought shortly after release that we often have static displayed items all the time from gaming , so far nothing has set in.

purchased this laptop for mainly schoolwork and 3D modeling, but this laptop also works really well for casual/regular gaming. laptop runs smoothly with heavy duty/AAA games, and there is absolutely no lag or loss of frame rate in any games even when the laptop is audibly working a bit hard (the fans do run a bit loud, but its what you can expect out of a laptop). the display is phenomenal and is very bright and saturated, making colors pop and look wonderful. the OLED screen paired with HDR makes game graphics look amazing and sharp. the 512gb SSD falls a bit short, but the laptop has an extra slot for a NVMe SSD, and adding the extra storage is quick and easy. overall, this laptop is a great choice and it works very well!!

I really liked this laptop. Its build is sleek, solid, and feels good while handling it. The performance was also quite good when compared w/ other 14" models. The Intel 13620h outperforms the AMD 7735hs in cinebench r23 by about 10%. However, it's at the cost of battery life. I was able to get just under 6hrs from 100% down to the point it shutoff while not doing any gaming, but while streaming, downloading, and installing updates. The keyboard is a decent 7/10, due to what seems like a slightly shrunken size since it has the 10key on the right. The 10key also shifts everything to the left so I often found myself mis-typing more than I'd like. My biggest gripe is the screen. The screen is OLED, but utilizes a pentile display and w/ only 1080p, it seems less sharp than it really should. This was very noticeable in text and honestly became distracting. Another smaller gripe is not really a fault, but rather a poor design decision. They really should have given this a 16/10 ratio instead of a 16/9 ratio. I will say for content consumption, this display is great because of its very poppy colors and infinite blacks. However, the shortfalls outweighed this fact for me.

It definitely delivers! Absolutely thrilled with my ASUS laptop! The Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA RTX3050 make it a powerhouse for any task, from gaming to creative work. The 15.6" OLED display is a visual feast, and with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, it's lightning-fast. The sleek black design adds a touch of sophistication. Five stars for this impressive blend of power and style! I use it for both work and pleasure. As a day trader and business owner, it’s battery life delivers pretty decently. I was actually impressed with the battery life during gaming. God for it. You will not be sorry.

Great laptop. I can play xbox games without and error. So far i played Forza4, Forza5 and Tomb Raider. I Can get 100fps when hdmi is plugged in. If i use thunderbolt plugged in i get 60fps. On laptop screen i get 60fps. Screen is pretty good. I can watch movies. Only issue i have is battery. Battery drains quick. I barely get 3hrs. Otherwise its a great Laptop.

This is a fantastic laptop, has a beautiful screen, a mid range graphics card, and just is nicely built. For $800, it’s a fantastic deal. If you spend an extra $200, you get an I-9 processor and more storage. I was able to run Halo, Mafia 3 at high settings, 60+ fps. It is fairly quiet. Would recommend while on sale.

I really do love this computer! Has a great screen and can handle almost any task such as gaming or editing. Heats up a little bit when running on high quality settings but over all great quality. Wish the screen was 120hz but the OLED screen does have a nice quality as well. The RTX 3050 can handle a lot. Recommend a cooling pad though if you wanna game more heavy.

At this price point I didn't have high expectations, but was still disappointed. The screen was gorgeous, but the resolution bothered me. Perhaps for a student or someone doing nothing but basic document work and web surfing it'll be fine. Though not technically supported, or documented, you can upgraded the memory to a total of 40 GB by adding a 32 Gb chip. 8 GB is soldered in. You can also add a 2nd ssd drive. Personally just on some basic things I use it for the performance didn't exactly impress me and neither did the battery life honestly. Support was horrible to work with. It takes a day, or more, before they respond. When you respond you have to wait another day to get their response, usually in the late hours of the night that you're not likely to respond. So a support ticket can literally linger for days. If you are OCD in any kind of way then always carry a cleaning cloth or stay away from this laptop. It is a fingerprint magent.
