Worst laptop ever

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My mom let me get a 13th gen i7 with rtx 3050 asus laptop and this week is now three to four weeks and it keeps on crashing when playing assasins creed at medium settings even though my temps are at 60-70c. I am going to get the msi stealth 14 instead of asus. I should’ve gotten msi laptops since the first laptop I got was hp victus and it had a blue screen and returned it. Asus was second then it had lag, stutters when playing roblox at low, and crash. Now I will stick to msi since it is the best brand that is reliable for money and quality. I already have a msi card which is the 1650 and it never gave me issues for the past 5-6 years so msi wins me.

Great specs but a very poor build quality and mate

The display bezel and the attached hinge cover broke in less than 2 months of use. Also dont purchase Asus Laptops from Best Buy. There is no way to extend waranty etc via Asus. Purchased this laptop for my son to use in college and tried to purchase additional warranty and was denied. Now I have a broken display bezel and hinge with normal use and no abuse.

Couldnt find a asus replacement, had to get aftermarket. SD card reader stopped working, screen flickering from extra bright to dark, tried to do a system restore and my password doesnt work! Add on a $200 charge just to "inspect" it and I have a $1,000 laptop that doesnt do anything.

Worst laptop and customer service.

Smooth, fast, moderate priced laptop- A winner!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited to have the opportunity to get his laptop as a Tech Insider, and I was not disappointed. The laptop started up quickly, and did not show me a ton of extra ads. With the I7 processor at 2.40 ghz and 16 mb of ram, this machine is built to perform. The color on the screen is fantastic and does not disappoint. It has the NVidia card with 6GB to provide that great color at speed. I like the keyboard because it has a numeric keypad on the right which is super helpful. That also means that if you use a bluetooth keyboard, the keypad on that will also work. I usually prefer using a mouse on a computer over a touchpad, but the touchpad on this Asus is large and works well, AND, more importantly, it does not get in the way of my typing! A new feature I have never seen before this machine is the Antibacterial Guard on the surface of the laptop. This Silver Ion protection is stated to last three years! The research showed that it would inhibit/kill/prevent 99% of bacteria from growing. This is a super feature that will come in handy for me as I work remotely, both from home and in the field. When with coworkers, we often share computers, so this anti bacterial coating seems ideal. As for the other bells and whistles, the RealTek audiot speaker is located in the hinge of the laptop, out of the way, but pointed towards my face. Music and conversation both sound great. I did video conferencing with a colleague and she said my voice sounded clear and distinct. For connections, there is bluetooth for anything-- mouse, headphones, drives, etc.-- and a standard USB port on each side. there are two USB-C ports on the right, along with CAT cable, HDMI and audio. The only feature that I do not like on this computer is the charging cord. I feel that the "plug to brick" cord is too short and the "brick to laptop" connection is not USB-C, like many others. The cord works perfectly fine, but I just prefer the USB-C charging port. Another great feature is that there are large vents on the sides and back of the machine, helping prevent over-heating. Overall, I give this laptop five stars for weight, design, speed, usability and the antibacterial coating. The screen size is perfect for doing work with a split screen, but not so large that you can't get it in a backpack. I highly recommend this laptop for a person who needs a reliable machine that works smoothly and charges quickly

Froze up

My wife and I are elderly and just wanted a basic laptop that would be reliable. When it froze up, we could not even turn it off because the battery is hidden inside and requires a tech to access it. The manufacturers have made using a computer a very unhappy experience!

This Laptop is Impressive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say this right from the start – for the price, this is the fastest, best performing laptop I have ever owned. It has the 13th (newest) generation i7 Intel processor with 16 GB of main memory and 6 GB of video memory on a NVIDIA RTX3050 graphics card. The 15.6” OLED display is crisp with great contrast and color depth with outstanding video performance. There is an ambient light sensor to adjust display brightness. Audio surround sound is handled by Dolby Atmos and Harman Kardon. The combined audio – visual experience using just the PC is amazing. Beyond Windows 11, ASUS provides some apps to fine tune the display color profiles and utilities for managing the laptop. The display is not a touchscreen. I’m not much of a gamer so I can’t say much about video gaming performance. Besides the usual day-to-day things we all do with computers, I can say this laptop is more than capable of handling serious digital photo editing and video creation. There is a full array of connectors including USB 2, USB C with DisplayPort, HDMI, Thunderbolt 4, and LAN plus an SD card reader. For some reason almost all of the connectors are on the right side of the laptop. You can also connect using Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth. ASUS states the device is ruggedized and tested military standards. Still, I don’t think I want to give it a drop test. The backlit keyboard, which features a full numeric keypad, is one of the best I have found in a laptop. Matched with the large touchpad it is comfortable and easy to use. There is a forward-facing camera with a privacy cover and an array of microphones that provide noise and echo reduction. There are indicator lights to let you know if the microphone or camera are active. The SSD is fast, but at 512 GB, a little small by today’s standards. The good news is you have lots of ways to connect additional external storage to the laptop. Also missing, as it is from many PCs, is an optical disk drive. But, again, there are options for connecting one to the laptop. Unless you are a superuser, this laptop should meet all your needs and might even exceed your expectations. I know it impressed me.

Excellent daily driver laptop with crisp graphics

Laptops designed for business use, general use, and gaming. While I love gaming laptops, I never quite utilized them because I just use my gaming PC while at home. Business use laptops are great for web browsing and basic tasks, but lack the horsepower for much else. This new ASUS OLED laptop offers a pretty sweet middle ground in the laptop space. The OLED panel on a laptop is breathtaking at first. Yes, it's only 1080p. But you get incredible colors, pure blacks, and fantastic viewing angles. It's a great media machine for streaming shows and movies. Watching content on the go does not disappoint with this model. Web browsing and productivity apps look crisp, and everything loads perfectly with the 13th gen Intel CPU and 16GB RAM. Even without a dedicated GPU, this laptop is great for overall use and media consumption. However, with the 6GB RTX 3050, it gives this laptop a few more tricks. It has plenty of power for portable video editing and rendering. It also has plenty of power for gaming. Yes, it only a 60hz panel at 1080p. No variable refresh rate, no gaming specific features, but it has the horsepower to game. While the specs might not be perfect for high refresh rate competitive shooters, this laptop can run games like Fortnite, Warzone, Forza, and Horizon Zero Dawn. You will have to adjust the graphics settings down in certain titles, but I had little issue running most mainstream games at 60fps, even if I wasn't able to do so at Ultra settings. But on a 15.6" 1080p OLED laptop panel, I didn't mind it at all. The graphics still looked great, and 60fps is usable for most games that aren't fast paced shooters. Also, the keyboard feel is surprisingly satisfying for a laptop.

GORGEOUS DISPLAY

The colors are vivid, the blacks are black, and the screen is just sharp. The monitor is Pantone validated, so I know that the photos I'm editing or art I am creating are as true to color as I can get, and I know that will give many other artists and photographers piece of mind. There's nothing worse than having a monitor not have the correct color balance when working on a project, only to find out later that your images just don't translate on other devices or prints. With that being said, the screen is highly reflective, which is kind of a bummer. Overall the computer is super fast, and has plenty of memory to handle using Adobe Photoshop, Spotify, Discord and a few web pages open with no issues. The fit and finish on this laptop is super solid. It's got a nice black aluminum chassis, and plenty of ports, including a thunderbolt 4 (usb-c) for super fast data transfer and charging, a usb-c/displayport, two usb-a 3.2, lan, sd card reader, 3.5mm headphone jack and an hdmi out. It's got some added security in a power button finger print reader, and webcam with cover. Battery life has been pretty stellar, and it charges pretty quickly too. The keyboard is pretty good and the keys have a nice bit of travel for a laptop. And I like that it has a full numpad too. There's not a lot of internal storage on this bad boy at 512 GBs, but it is a pci-e ssd, so at least it's super fast and windows boots in seconds. If you're a photographer or digital artist like me, then this laptop is an absolute banger of an option for you.

Gorgeous Display; Excellent Value

This is the first time I've looked at a computer screen with Q OLED technology and I'll never buy another laptop or computer display without it. The color is rich, deep and vibrant, a feast for the eyes, and sharp enough with 1080p resolution. Now for the other aspects of this laptop. They call it Creator, and it's nicely equipped with the Windows 11 Home OS, an excellent processor in the Intel Core i7 13th gen, 16 GB RAM, and a mid-range level NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB GPU. The GPU, while not top level, is good enough for Video editing and rendering. It's not advertised for gaming, and I wouldn't rely on it for serious gaming. The screen refresh rate is only 60 Hz, and you would really need a more powerful GPU. The laptop comes loaded with ASUS ProArt Creator Hub, a software package that has a color control module that allows color calibration, a WorkSmart module that allows creation of Task Groups of apps, and a Performance Optimization module to control power and resources. The keyboard has a soft blueish color backlighting that surrounds the keys and is pleasing to the eyes. It includes a number keypad. Overall, for the price and how this laptop is equipped, I would rate it an excellent value. With its gorgeous display, excellent processor and mid-level GPU, it would definitely not disappoint.

Best for content creator, good for general use too
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asus Creator Q530 laptop is marketed to content creator such as YouTubers, TikTokers, podcasters, vloggers, musicians and artists etc. and it does fit the use case very well. OLED screen is unmatched in color accuracy, delivering vibrant, precise and vivid colors, content is crisp with great contrast and color depth. The black color is truly black, white is luminous. In short, OLED delivers ultra-realistic images and videos. And this OLED screen is very bright compared to other OLED screens. Coupled with the latest, powerful and efficient intel i7 processor and good enough dedicated graphic chip, nVidia RTX 3050, creating content is a breeze. But gaming with the laptop is not bad either. Not suitable for pro-gamer but good enough for casual gamer. With so much power, I am surprised that the laptop runs pretty quietly. And the battery life is passable, about 5 hours on average. The laptop is relatively slim and light for a 15" with a full keyboard, i.e. it has number pad at the right side. Typing on the keyboard is comfortable because it is well spaced and has good travel. Though certain keys are narrower, but those keys are seldom used. It has 180° hinge for easy sharing which is nice when on the go. Speaker is very loud even without using Audio Booster. The front facing camera has a privacy cover. Built in audio input is through three-mic array that has AI noise cancelation. Included memory is using the latest DDR5 RAM. This laptop has many ports which is much appreciated; one 40 Gbps Thunderbolt™ 4, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C® double as display port, one RJ-45 wired LAN port, a standard SD card reader, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, one HDMI® 2.1 and an audio combo jack. The only thing I don't like is that the screen is glossy and this causes a lot of reflection especially in dark scenes where black areas act like a mirror.

Bad purchase

Like best buy. Not this laptop

Then asked Asus and it was 16gb. Then I got the laptop and it was shutting down when gaming. I returned the item and bought another laptop

Great Do It All Laptop

Very thin and lightweight, but still feels sturdy. Performance is very good in all modes including the performance mode. The OLED screen looks bright and sharp and looks like a higher resolution than what it really is. Backlit keyboard is nice and is a must have feature for me for the last 7 years. Typing felt natural and not cramped. The touchpad was also easy to use and I did not have any issues with it. The SD card reader is great because I take a lot of photos and the SD reader gives me another option for image transfer. The sound quality was suprisingly good, I think the outward angle had something to do with it. But it still won't compare with the sound of a high-end laptop. The battery life was good, but it could have been better. The webcam worked well, but the bonus is that it has a built-in privacy slider that will save me some money. One minor issue with this laptop is that fingerprints are unavoidable, not a dealbreaker, but it is something to note. Overall, I have no complaints so I'm giving this laptop 5 stars.
