I had been used to entry-level laptops because I am not a heavy user. However, I decided to step-up to this Asus because of good deal, and it and has been a nice surprise. The display is very sharp and overall it is noticeably quicker. Also, battery life is good - plus there's lots of storage so I won't be worried about room for my pictures.

This computer is excellent value (I purchased it on sale). While initially reluctant to go with an AMD machine (rather than Intel), I was quickly sold on the benchmarks associated with the 5800HS processor. Compared to other Ryzen 7 processors out there, this thing is fast! Bootup time is less than 5 seconds. 12GB memory is easily expandable to 16 GB, if needed. The display resolution is misrepresented on Best Buy's website (it's actually 1980 x 1200 - Full HD+) and I personally felt the display set it apart from the Lenovo counterpart I'd considered. The laptop chassis is very solidly built, and I hope that it lasts a long time.

I recently purchased the ASUS Vivobook 16 laptop with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS processor, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. This laptop offers an exceptional combination of power and portability. The AMD Ryzen 7 processor handles all my tasks effortlessly, from productivity work to gaming and multimedia tasks. The 12GB of memory ensures smooth multitasking, and the 512GB SSD provides ample storage while delivering lightning-fast performance. The design in "Quiet Blue" is not only visually appealing but also unique in its own right. It stands out from the sea of typical laptop colors and adds a touch of sophistication to my workspace. What truly sets this laptop apart, though, is its silent operation. The "Quiet Blue" model lives up to its name, delivering a remarkably quiet computing experience. No more distracting fan noise during intensive tasks or while watching videos – it's a game-changer for me. In summary, the ASUS Vivobook 16 with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS, 12GB memory, and 512GB SSD in "Quiet Blue" is a fantastic laptop that offers top-notch performance, an eye-catching design, and remarkably quiet operation. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish laptop for both work and entertainment.

    Solid Laptop That Works Well

The ASUS Vivobook 16” Laptop is a really nice laptop that came preloaded with some great programs. The look of this laptop is very pleasing, and it is not bulky at all, making traveling with it amazingly easy. The reason I jumped at the opportunity to get this laptop was due to my old laptop battery not holding a charge very long, so I figured it was time to retire it. I am extremely glad that I did. The set up of this ASUS Vivobook was very straight forward. From the time I turned it on, to the time had it fully set up took a little more than 30 minutes. This laptop walked me through each step and made the process quite simple. I was even able to set it up in a way that allowed me to synchronize my files on my previous laptop to it which made it much more enjoyable. Some of the features that I really like are first and foremost how quickly this laptop boots up. I am sure it is due to the fact that this one has the AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS processor and 12gb of memory. I just push the power button and within mere seconds its up and running. Another feature I like is the 512gb solid stated drive, this allows for saving large files to this PC a breeze, and I have plenty of storage space to keep them. The built-in camera works great for my zoom meetings, and I like how it has a built-in cover for the camera when not in use. Now for the one thing that I do not like. I do not appreciate, not having the ability to download and use Google Chrome. I have used this program for years and I have it on all things that I use including my cellular phone. If there is one thing that I would recommend to the manufacturer of this pc, is to allow me as the consumer to put whatever program I chose to use on my laptop. All in all, this ASUS laptop does everything I want, and it does it well. I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a low-cost PC that travels well and has all the features needed to be highly effective in most task required of it. ASUS did a fantastic job with this one and it has quickly become my everyday us PC.

I'm coming from an HP Envy 13, with an Intel i5-8250U cpu @ 1.6 GHz. This computer has an AMD Ryzen 5800HS @ 3.2 GHz. Old laptop with 8Gb of RAM, compared to the 12Gb here. The old laptop has 4-cores, new has 8. The program that causes my HP to buckle the most is Blender. Start up freezes the computer for 30 seconds while it considers loading. The Asus runs Blender as if it were Minesweeper. "It just works." The computer comes with minimal bloatware. Originally boots in S Mode which restricts use to Microsoft's Store's apps, but with some troubleshooting, I turned off that setting.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 is good for business use. It's easy to carry, and its battery lasts long enough to get you through a typical 8-hour workday. It has a 16-inch display that's well-suited for multitasking, a comfortable keyboard, and a large and responsive touchpad. Its AMD Ryzen CPU can easily handle general productivity tasks like text processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and web browsing. You can only get 8GB of memory, though. If you need more RAM for heavy multitasking, you'll have to upgrade it yourself through its SO-DIMM slot. Port selection is decent; the downside is that its USB-C doesn't support video output or Thunderbolt 4.Easy to use very powerful A good student laptop For a student the laptop isn't too bulky and in theory it should be able to handle everything you decide to throw at it. Also i find the design to be quite cool.

Very capable laptop. 8 Zen 3 cores and 16 threads makes the laptop very snappy. The added 4GB of RAM is a very nice addition and the 512GB SSD is plenty for every day use. Decent display but nothing too special. The 8 Vega cores makes 720p High and 1080p Low to Medium achievable on most older and non demanding games. Would not suggest for current AAA games. Overall, great APU with amazing performance and decent battery life. Both this on sale for $400 and would definitely recommend at that price.

I purchased this 1 month ago and so far it has impressed me for its cost. It is definitely a work horse! The battery life on the laptop has been between 10-15 hours easy, if not longer. It moves fast through processing even with numerous things running. Considering the price point, having windows 11 (not home), the speed, memory, size (and can be added to!), and functions have more than exceeded my expectations! The only downsides are ir does not have a backlit keyboard and it's not touch screen. That has been a struggle not to have those 2 features and would have made this perfect laptop. But you can't have it all, trust me ive looked. Levant this, you won't be disappointed at all !

Important. Before I ramble on here is the basic step for this laptop Note oobe\bypasnro 1. Open box do not turn on right away. Entering the setup process for Windows S Mode will lock the hardware. 2. Create a Windows 11 home USB using Windows media creator 3. Insert USB drive and turn on the laptop and load into bio / ueif (F2 or delete key soon as you boot the computer) 4. Proceed to install Windows 11 home over windows S mode that they have on there 5. Once loaded you will probably have to fix some drivers. There are a few devices that are affected so whichever one's affect you go to the manufacturer website and download the two latest drivers.(yes both) 6 open device manager and uninstall any of the drivers for whatever device is not working. Load the set drivers downloaded before trying the newest one first. If you are having issues still go back and install the second oldest. 7. Open up services and disable syswow, it will not affect your usage but it severely slows down this laptop. If you would like more speed you can also disable Windows search but that does make the little search bar in Windows Explorer more time consuming, it's shuts off search indexing. Makes it take a little longer to search. 8 yes there's more.. After all of that go ahead and open up command prompt or Powershell. Run sfc / scannow More than likely this will come up with Integrity errors and should repair them now run it again. 9 make sure your computer is completely up to date through Windows update. Restart the computer 10 last step I swear rerun the sfc /scannow command. More than likely it will come up with Integrity violations again. And resolve them itself. Run it a second time and verify there are no violations. Then restart the computer. Once it's restarted run the sfc /scannow one last time. It should not come up with any violations this time. You should be good to go. If you're still getting some Integrity violations there you can run the dism command which can be found online for rebuilding windows. I did not have to go this far though on any of the ones I installed So I bought a few of these of these when they were on sale got them for about $450 I believe. For that price it's a really good laptop. There was some good things and there are some bad things. First off Windows S Mode?? Are you kidding me Microsoft. So I learned from a ton of troubleshooting there are ways to make this laptop run a lot better than it does out of the box. First off just install home Edition from the start don't mess with S Mode at all plug your USB in and run the installer for Windows 11 home. Do not try to go through the setup for Windows S Mode. It has a stupid feature where it locks the hardware if you don't go through S modes installer completely took me a while to figure out how to do it but I did eventually get around that. The best bet is to install Windows 10 home right out of the box it'll start working a lot better first off seconds a lot of the issues that people State on the low star reviews I saw some of them most of them were driver issues. As concerning the mic the Bluetooth and all that you have to roll back the drivers. Most of them were one driver over updated somewhere two or three. They all seem to work including the Wi-Fi Bluetooth card, the internal mic and other, and others that people have mentioned in the one and two star reviews. If it came with home they would have probably gotten four stars because it's not the greatest but coming with the S Mode is terrible. It shouldn't even be allowed to lock you into Microsoft. My other big big complaint is the screen the screen is terrible I've seen better screens on $300 laptops than that. The colors are so washed out and dim. it is not very bright either. Very low nits even at its brightest setting it just isn't good at all. If you're thinking about using it outside during the day think again. The display is almost unusable in sunlight. It does also have a really bad angle of view. You have to be looking straight on to it to see the colors and the screen properly if you go a little bit to the left or right with your view almost impossible to seeing use. Then again that could be for privacy but honestly I think it's just a bad screen. All in all I did like the computer and the customer loved it. But this is an honest review I personally would not buy it for myself. The Ryzen 7 and 12 gigs of memory at this price is an incredible deal though. Yet again take some work to get working properly they do not work like they should out of the box. You do have to go into the bios, rather ueif I should say, change some of the settings in order to get proper performance. You also have to disabled one or two windows processes in order to have it run the way it should for some reason even home has some weird instances of bottlenecking. I'm a computer repair technician and owner of a company. I was able to figure this out but for the average person I would say no they would have given up and returned it like some of the review said. I like Asus at the brand and I own one of their laptops currently in use almost everyday I am very happy with it I really haven't had any issues with their products over the years that I've owned them I had Asus products for at least 10 years maybe more I've always been happy with their quality. But everybody has a bad unit here and there. I would definitely recommend this laptop to anybody who has some technical experience who can reload Windows and change some settings to get the laptop working the way it should. You should not buy this laptop. The way it comes out of the box is not going to be user friendly especially S Mode. But with a little tinkering and some extra time to install and change settings it's well worth the $450 it is at now. I would never buy this for anybody if it was at its normal price that is absurd. Probably extra work you have to put in no wonder why they sell it so cheap. One last thing of my ramblings I almost forgot to mention it is ddr4 RAM. It is last generation we are on ddr5 now and you shouldn't buy anything that's last generation in my opinion you should stay up to date and current as much as possible when buying a new computer so that it last you the longest. Overall this is a good computer with good specifications and good parts it is just crap because of Windows 7 and some bad drivers issues which mostly is Microsoft's fault. So I rated it three stars. It would have been a four star if it came all set up for Windows home. It would have been a one star if I couldn't have gone around it. Hopefully people read this and learn from my mistakes I spent several hours once I started to set it up and realized it was in S Mode. I stopped the installation and tried to reload Windows. The pond trying to reload the Home software. unfortunately found out all the hardware was locked down because the stupid S Mode.
